Title: what makes a player "successful"?
Post by: WhiteJC on July 13, 2020, 11:36:16 AM
I realise that the answer will be different for different positions, a striker has to score goals, a goalie has to keep clean sheets, but what makes a player a success?
We've had players who came with a good reputation but took a season or two to win over the fans, Chris Baird springs to mind.
We've had players that very few of us had heard of and became, more or less, instant fans favourites, Brede Hangeland & the Pog
We've had players that "just got" Fulham, Ivor, Bjarne Golbaek, Danny Murphy, Barry Hayles, Legwinski, Eric Neveland, McGod and too many others to mention.

so what counts as success for a player as far as you're concerned?

all kinds of different qualities can make a player a fans favourite.

Some one explain to me why a lot of us remember Jim Stanard with such fondness, we have had better keepers who are now almost forgotten.
