Title: Sunday Games
Post by: Tabby on September 20, 2020, 12:33:51 PM
Tottenham currently losing to Southampton and looking poor. Wonder how much longer Mourinho will last.

He'll still 10's of millions if they sack him. So win / win.

Great goal from son. That's one player I wouldn't mind here.

Thankfully it's a sport that can change the dynamic at any given moment. 1-1, great finish by Son.

Tottenham looking like making a smash and grab. Still, looks like there are more goals in the game.

Hat trick for son.

Kyle Walker-Peters nowhere close to him again. Tete looking like a better signing by the day.

Son vs Southampton at the moment. Dropped by KWP yet again.

Yeah, and the Southampton defense has completely imploded in the second half.

Brighton off to a flyer against Newcastle. Think Newcastle are in the relegation danger zone as well.

They'll play:

Son -- Kane -- Bale up top, I would think.

that would be the best attack in the premiership by far

Brighton off to a flyer against Newcastle. Think Newcastle are in the relegation danger zone as well.

They bought some proven PL talent, to bolster a team that finished mid-table last season. Strange result today but they have mid-table all over them.

They're also managed by Steve Bruce and were lucky most of last season. The result wasn't strange today, they were completely outplayed.

I'll be honest, I never really thought Spurs weren't going to win this. Sloppy start but Saints were going to be able to press as well as they did first half for the full 90. Plus, I know our defence is poor, but Saints ultimate weakness is their back line. If Romeu or Ward-Prowse aren't protecting them, they look easily broken down. For what its worth, Walker-Peters looked ok, but he was all over the place and sometimes luckily using his pace to make last ditch tackles. I still expect them to be fine this year, 12th-16th team, but I'd be confident we could score goals against them.

We don't have an up top player to stretch defenses...not AK47 and not Mitro. Haven't since Babel left.  Spurs have good hold up play and overlapping players with pace.

And the will have Gareth Bale when they play us.

Man...I know it's not happening...but if we could get Lucas Moira...good player...

Dan Burn played the last 30 minutes for Brighton today.

Wish we had a young still improving CB like that....

He plays as a left wingback these days.

After only a couple of matches we are seeing the difference between top six and lower teams. Fulham 3, Leeds 4 and Southampton 5 have all conceded big scores against a top six team.

Yeah, he has been playing on the left ever since Potter arrived at the club. It looks a bit strange to see him dribbling down the left but he looks like a decent Prem left back.

Anybody else watching Liverpool v Dog Track FC. I don't know about others but I find this tippy tappy back and forth stuff so bloody boring.

Christensen initially gets a yellow card for a last man tackle that a Saracens player would be proud of.

I just came on here to say the same thing, it's like watching paint dry. Chelsea are 2-0 down and on the odd occasion that they get the ball they tap it backwards to each other in their own half.
Do people really want to watch that? and are their players earning even a small fraction of their wages?
It's like they all want to say they never gave the ball away, but they've done absolutely nothing to try and get a goal back. Liverpool will pass it around all day, yes it's just as boring but they've got their goals. If ever a game needed defenders to hoof it up the pitch for the forwards to run on to it, this is it. I can't watch no more, it'll send me into a coma.

He'd start for us, but I'm not bused that we didn't get him.
