Another legend from my youth has left us... whenever I think of Motor commentary I think of Murray Walker....

What a great shame that is, must be one of the most iconic voices of all time. He will be greatly missed fans and drivers alike.

Very sad. Says a lot about his talents that he made F1 exciting to listen to.

Only followed F1 during the Murray era. To be fair it also coincided with some fascinating drivers. None more so than James Hunt who Murray probably saved from an ignominious post career decline.

I loved that he was an obvious fan, a natural not a robot. RIP Murray.

I am so sad, we just lost a giant. I listened to him since the 1970s. He will always be the Vin Scully of motor sport. Rest in peace.
