Title: Only ourselves to blame
Post by: ffcne on April 20, 2021, 06:08:10 PM
Did the hard part getting back in  contention.
City and Leeds didnt deserve anything.

Villa a goal up and in control in the last 15 of the game.
3 points lost
Wolves conceding a very late goal to someone who hadnt scored for ages
1 point lost
Arsenal leading well into injury time and giving away a goal with last kick.
2 points lost.

Absolutely ridiculous.
Its too late now .
We blew it!!

We went ultra defensive  trying to see out those three games, against Arsenal we finished playing seven across the back.
Lets hope Parker has learnt a lesson and will in future try playing out games in the opponents half.

Playing the games in the opponent's half is a bit too much to ask, I think. I would be content with us trying to attack and have a few shots on (and off) target in the last 5 games even if we end up losing all of them.

We are a yo-yo team under FFP restrictions like Norwich. We haven't bypassed FFP using agents like Wolves, we haven't produced a great academy player like Aston Villa, we haven't magically transformed Championship players into EPL players like Bielsa and we don't have the sponsorship of Wolves, Leeds or Aston Villa, but we have done ok so there is no one to blame for relegation.

We have developed a Premier League defence, which hopeful we can keep and need to ensure we have a yo-yo attack to stay a yo-yo team. If we go down the goal has to be leading the championship this christmas, and do a Norwich who I think will stay up next season.
