Of Super League
Let the dominoes fall.
I would rather they went. Terrible oil fed club, the most plastic of all fans.
Good and they deserve to be congratulated for being the first to admit their mistake. Nothing wrong in that.
Now let the Spuds and Arse realise how stupid they are to even think they belong in anything called a Super League and remember their fans and supporters have put up with their continuous failure to reach the potential. So return to trying to not cheat your way to the top table and actually try and play your way there.
It was bound to happen, people fear the 'unknown', 'the powers that be' at Chelsea are just the same, they don't know where it will lead, Government, Litigation etc.
The big thing is that, they the 'Super League' are messing with 'Heritage'. The Premier League think it owns football, but it's part of British Culture which belongs to the 'people'. Generations of fans has 'sustained' football regardless of the times.
And Man City pulling out too apparently...
They have shown their true colours but have now bottled it. If they aren't severely punished it just shows what a farce the whole thing is
Understand that Spurs and Real Madrid have agreed to play each other 10 times in a new 2 team super league.
Feels like we're being played here. Perhaps it's a smokescreen for the changes being made to the Champions League & qualification for 'elite' teams that don't qualify?
It will be interesting to see how the fans react knowing that their clubs owners were prepared to go ahead with this breakaway idea.
Or will it all be forgotten and everything is rosy and fine once more.
To late to pull out...or perhaps they were using protection
Barca about to pull out, too.
Just leaves the mighty Tottenham Hotspur holding the whole thing together.
Shame really...the whole deal has been superbly run so far.
Points should be deducted but they won't!
Also, I noticed the Chelsea thugs earlier and noted no distancing and in many many cases no face coverings!
And we wonder why it's taking sooo long to beat COVID-19?
Who in their right mind will trust what those 'super' clubs will say in the future?

Spurs still not sure how to tell supporters why they sacked Mourinho for NOTHING, LOL!!!! 064.gif
The firs bit of sense our PM has talked since COVID struck our shores
Johnson added that he would like to tell the "billionaire club owners" that "association football was invented and codified in this country. It is one of the great glories of this country's cultural heritage: these clubs, these names originate from famous towns and cities in our country. I don't think it right that they should somehow be dislocated from their home towns, home cities, taken and turned into international brands and commodities that just circulate the planet propelled by the billions of banks without any reference to fans and those who've loved them all their lives."
I'm sure many of us are old enough to remember Chelsea, Spurs, Man United and Man City playing us at the cottage in the old second division. I can remember Chelsea struggling to avoid relegation to the old third division in the season both ourselves and QPR were fighting for promotion to the old first division. IIRC the draw at our place over Easter was key to them staying up and us missing out on promotion.
Too late. Needs sanctions. Points deductions, large fines etc.
Do you think the Chelsea players have their minds 100% on beating Brighton tonight? A point for Brighton could be the one that keeps them up.
It'll be interesting to see how the JP Morgan PR people handle this development.

The PL don't care about this end of the table in a million years
30 points deduction feels about right
They're all pulling out now. Still, unless they get relegated so we don't, I don't really care

Yes, Newsnight reporting that all 6 UK clubs now pulling out of it, but awaiting confirmation.
Well if the 'big six' want to really be the 'Big Six' in their humiliation then they should accept due punishment for even having the temerity to suggest an ESL among themselves and without even consulting key stakeholders and others (as Liverpool have tacitly admitted not to have done). I would still fine them all heavily and relegate them out of the football league. Let them know what it is like to navigate the National Leagues back into existence without media money and not a hope of all six of them getting back in quickest time. The tumbleweed around their grounds may keep reminding them that greed doesn't pay.
Let's be realistic. Any 'punishment ' will be derisory. The clubs involved haven't actually done anything beyond talking about some half-baked arrangement. I think the limit of any action against them would be no more than a fine of a couple of hundred thousand pounds. Within clubs, individuals might resign or be sacked ( a la Woodward at Man U) but clubs will get no more than a smack on the wrist and told not to be naughty again.
