Come on TK put your leotard and gimp mask down and go sign him (for us not wrestling)
Wonder if City will stop trying to sign Grealish and go back for Messi now.
For about the 7th time I think

This time it is Barcelona themselves stating that he won't be renewing his contract.
They've said a contract has been agreed by both parties, but that La Liga financial regulations are preventing it from being ratified. Give it a week, and La Liga will probably just change their regulations.....
Big news itf true. Could well be the end of Barcelona.
I can see PSG paying him £1 mil a week for a season tho. Just to annoy Neymar again.
TK will be running him through the stats machine as we speak...
Messi.... what's he ever done
You have to hand it to both Messi and Barca to both get out of this and be able to blame someone else so the fans don't hate either of them 👏👏
Is it just me who thinks it's entirely their own fault/doing? They're essentially buggered financially because they've thrown everything and the kitchen sink into his contracts and building the club around him that they've inflated his value to an unsustainable level and whilst they were always on the brink the clubs poor financial management plus covid obviously has completely dismantled any strong position the club was in.
Can't help but think it'll take them a while to recover, especially as they essentially haven't got any money from their biggest asset.
In my opinion the whole Spainish set up is corrupt. What do you do if you don't have money to buy the biggest players in the world? You sell your training ground to your local council who give it back to you plus 100's millions of tax payers money and you go on to buy the Harlem Globetrotters squad of fotball players. So what happens if the rules in your country say that you have to sell your players to keep Messi, you announce that Spainish football is going to lose the top act in the circus and so the rule makers face so much anger they cave in. Messi isn't going anywhere - the show (circus) must go on.
Terrible league the Spainish.

Only a few clubs could afford his contract (which would pay itself in merchandise) and thsoe would be Man City and PSG or some Chinese outfit.

The Banks own the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid who are heavily in debt to them.
These clubs are built on sand and risk collapsing like a pack of cards if they continue down this corrupt road to oblivion.

Agreed - I'm half expecting him to 'fail his medical' for unannounced reasons...
If I were Grealish, though, even if he does join I'd want to know what City plan to do about Messi. Worst case scenario for him would be to join City and then be benched behind Messi.

Nah, too many people think TC is better and Messi wouldn't get a look in.

Got to agree with a lot of this.

Yep. Agree with it all!
His wages have helped put Barcelona in serious trouble. How Barcelona can have agreed to 126 million euros pa is frankly pathetic.
BBC currently reporting that Messi is in tears at a press conference saying he and his family desperately wanted to stay at Barcelona and are gutted to be forced to leave. Can someone please confirm, in case I've misunderstood it, that the reason he "needs" to leave is that Barcelona can probably only afford to pay him something like £10m or £20m or £30m per year, so if he wants to carry on earning £60m per year, he'll have to go to PSG...
The man adds a whole new level to the meaning of the word "greed"

My thoughts exactly.
He's already earned enough money to set up his family and his next 20 generations for life.
If he loved the club as much as he claims he could stay on a significantly reduced wage.
Greed is the only snake that can never be charmed.
Genuinely, if I was the same level as Messi, at this stage of my career, I'd go play for a League 2 club or something for their average wage.
Barca are broke so they want to sign Aubanyang?

Why would you do that? You'd get annoyed at the level of quality within about 10 minutes.
