Currently plying his trade with West Ham United at Old Trafford. Maintaining their 0-1 lead with some aplomb.
So good, makes me even more regretful we didn't hang on and remain in The Premiership. We would have started our rebuild with such a solid building block.
West Ham win, great Joy for David Moyes.
Bloody miss the guy. Don't know why, but just oozed class professionally and personally. Wish we had stayed up just to sign him.
In the top 3 keepers we've had since I've supported the club and arguably makes a good case, on pure ability, to be our 2nd best.
A shame to see him play as a back up, but what a back up. West ham are very lucky. Hoping we go back up so we can resign him.
Not sure he should be a back up a WHU. Personally I think he's the best they have.
We may get lucky and be in a position to resign him in the summer
Why he had not been a number one for another club when he came to us I have no idea. A real disappointment to see him with another club now. :016: Great to see him help to put United out on their own patch! :54:

+1
We should have bought him.
Nobody would say he didn't have class. Our Goal difference would have been a lot worse without him.
A great keeper who would have helped us to promotion this season. Irritating that he is happier being 2nd choice at West Ham rather than our automatic first choice keeper.

Errr he wasn't up for it. Wanted the Prem at any price.
He's on loan there because we couldn't pay his wages in the Championship and he's settled in London. If we go back up and he's still stuck on the West Ham bench come the end of the season, we'll be in prime position to bring him back here.

He would have had it again next season had he stayed.
Pure Class
If we do go back up this year, we should definitely go back in for him. He's in a different stratosphere to Gazzaniga

Absolutely. I certainly think we will need to upgrade if we do get promoted and Areola would be my first choice.

Completely agree.
