Title: NFR England Song for the Next World Cup
Post by: Terry Towling on September 24, 2021, 11:19:06 AM
I don't know about you but I am now sick of "Footballs coming Home" and think we should have an official song for the next world cup. I am thinking we should update the great base that John Barnes gave us and have Kano's "This is England" as the song we all look too. I guess that this may not be a popular choice it being a great example of UK Grime but it sure is catchy.

It would certainly have to be reworked but it is catchy I agree, especially the chorus.  I thought "World in Motion" was great btw!  Football's coming home has certainly had it's day as far as I am concerned.

We could do a remake called 'Football's lost its soul'. Qatar 2022.

The Funeral march would be ideal as football doesn't even pretend anymore that it's selling its soul.

Englands just another word for nothing left to lose
Nothing ain't worth nothing but it's free.

Bobby McGee was a fine centre forward.
