How do you make this assessment?

It was pointed out on an earlier thread that Ha Has are doing well, if they beat Derby tomorrow night they go above West Brom reducing out comfortable cushion over the third place team by a point.
Afraid we have to do some more cheering for Derby.

The best two teams in the division go head to head on Friday. On current form I reckon Coventry are third best and I can't see West Brom missing out on the play offs. QPR are a very average team. We've seen that for ourselves. Their position in theΒ  table says a lot about the division this year. I reckon the OP is right though, can see Sheffield United making a push for top 6. Definitely a good year to get promoted because the way things are going Newcastle will take one of the top two places next season.

We really are at the stage where we just need to win games and reduce a bad run and we're fine. If we concede this lead, we don't deserve to go up in automatics. Same goes to Bournemouth. We beat them Friday, and we'll be in a huge commanding lead mentally, so just can't see us dropping the ball. I do however think it'll be a draw friday.

Doubt it with Heckingbottom as manager, his record hardly sets the world alight just under 35% win ratio

I can't get over the fact that they sacked Jokanovic because he asked for a couple of wingers in January and gave Heckingbottom a four year contract.

Nor can I could be the dumbest decision this season.

Heckingbottom is way cheaper and they thought Slavisa would have them in the playoffs from minute one.

Frankly I'd be gobsmacked if they even make the playoffs let alone win it at this stage.

Might want to keep an eye on QPR too.Β  I know we handled them quite efficiently, but if they win today they are in 3rd place.Β  Just sayin'

WBA are the only other team that has a squad that could push us consistently over the season. If they get a manager that can utilise the squad properly, that is my only worry. If QPR are the candidates to knock us out of the automatics, we will be laughing.

FFC, Bmouth, WBA and She U. Two of these to get promoted directly and one via the playoff...only one to miss out. It was my prediction before the season and i think it still looks resonable.

Sheffield United suddenly not looking like an easy prospect,
Win their next two, QPR and Fulham and they are right back in it, Fulham and Boscombe have left the door ajar for them, a door that should have been closed and double locked by now.

Wow, losing a game we don't even play for another 8 days.....some fans have such a positive view of a team unbeaten in 11 games.

Not sure if it helps us that their game at QPR is postponed?

I will only say that three weeks ago I told people to watch out for Blackburn and was laughed at. Six points gained on us in five matches . Who is laughing now and Yes we did beat them 7-0?

They look a quality side. We'll need our mojo back to get past them the second time.

My tip to win the play offs, best we claim one of the top two places πŸ™πŸ»

Posted this back in November when nobody gave them a chance,Β  stick by what I said, can see them going up,
It might be a really poor division this season but those playoffs are going to be one hell of a battle, I pray to God that we don't have to be part of them.

Agree with this, the play offs is going to be brutal this year. We need another 33 points from our final 18 games to ensure we don't get the play offs

Yeah I mean with the likes of Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick leading the line there's absolutely no way we could compete

Not necessarily looking at Sheff United but the play offs as a whole this year is looking ultra competitive. Possibly the most competitive for a while

Yeah would agree with that; my money's on Middlesbrough

Just had a look at the table and three of the teams that I fancy to be a big part of the play offs, Sheffield United,Β  Forest and Boro are all currently outside of the top 6 !!
It's going to be one hell of a finish.

Also, don't forget, we have lost one game in the last 18, top of our agenda should be worrying about Sheffield United

Rhian Brewster out injured for the season,Β  how your season can turn in an instant, could prove to be a fatal blow for them.

I really think you should get a season ticket at Brammal Lane, you have far more interest in them than Fulham.

The chasing pack are all playing each other this month so points will be dropped which means if we have a good February then we should have an increased lead going into March

The next five games are all winnable,Β  game Six is Blackburn at home, win that and promotion is ours to lose.

Given where we are, promotion is already ours to lose and I'm usually pessimistic
