Messi again, what's he done of late.

Play in Spain and France where it's a lot easier.

I had this initial reaction, heavily reflected in his lacklustre form of late in France. But look at his stats for which they voted. They were insane.

I think not giving Lewandowski the award last year was a travesty to the legacy of the award and also, cutting the period short of a year when you vote. Lewandowski now has I believe 65 goals compared to when they voted 54 which is a huge difference in the stats.

Single handedly won Copa America with with a very poor Argentina side - They had not won the competition since 1993.
56 appearances 41 goals 17 assists is pretty amazing still
40+ goals in a year for the 12th time!
Breaks Pele's record for most goals at 1 club (672)

The greatest 049:gif

Cant see how messi wont it to be honest, even taking into account the cuppa America he plays in an easy league (be that France or Spain). RL has done as much for Poland and Bayern if not more last season and the season before should have been the winner for me.

What are you basing Spain as an "easy league" on?
You could say the exact same for the German league no?

A lazy comment

Not at all a lazy comment (also note you only pick up on my comment of that when i think one maybe 2 there's said similar). German league is similar hence why i mentioned that and Poland as the argument is he sone the cops America for Argentina. POland are a weakfish team and RL gets them to tournaments or very near that almost on his own (they have some decent but not world class players). As for Spain in my opinion usually 2 teams, then every other year Athleti (who of late have become a lot more consistent in their challenges).

For me CR as played in more leagues and been proven in pretty much them all that give shim the edge along with not being as naturally talented as LM. The joy for me as a football fan is having watched them push each other to the heights that they reached, i feel privileged to have seen that.
