Fulham edge nearer to Leno deal

Fulham are edging closer to concluding a deal to sign Arsenal's German international goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The Whites have been in negotiations with the Gunners about a permanent deal to bring Leno, who has a year to run on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium, to Craven Cottage for around three and a half weeks. Arsenal have told the 30 year-old goalkeeper he is surplus to requirements following the arrival of Matt Turner – and a deal is believed to be close that will deliver funds allowing Mikel Arteta to continue reshaping his squad.

Leno, who lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale last term, is eager to play first-team football in a bid to go to the winter World Cup and Fulham are thought to be an attractive option giving their London location and their promotion back to the Premier League. Marco Silva has targeted an upgrade on Marek Rodak as the Cottagers look to strengthen before the beginning of their top flight campaign next month.

The experienced goalkeeper has made 125 appearances for Arsenal having previously played for Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen.

'With all due respect to Fulham': Target told to snub £3.5m Cottagers move

AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli should turn down a move to the Premier League with Fulham and stay in Serie A, former Lazio midfielder Massimo Bonanni tells Tuttomercatoweb.

It seems that Romagnoli is of a similar mindset.

Fulham offered the Italy international a £65,000-a-week contract (£3.5m-a-year) at Craven Cottage in June (TMW). That proposal has been put on ice for the time being, however, with a man who skippered AC Milan to their first Scudetto title in over a decade waiting to see if his boyhood club are willing match Fulham's offer.

So far, however, Lazio have stumped up just £45,000-a-week for Romagnoli; A centre-back who made his name at their bitter rivals AS Roma.

Will Alessio Romagnoli choose Fulham or Lazio?

"He's a good defender. I don't really understand what he wants to do. He always said he's a Lazio fan," says Bonanni, who had a spell with the Biancocolesti back in 2006.

"I don't think the club has made him a ridiculous offer. Now, he has to figure out which side he's on. With all respect to Fulham, I would stay at home and have important responsibilities (in Serie A)."

The ball is most certainly in Romagnoli's court. And Fulham's hopes seem to rest on whether the 27-year-old – who's Milan contract expired last week – opts for the glamour and the bank-balance swelling riches of the Premier League over the opportunity to finally don the iconic sky blue shirt of his beloved Lazio.

With Lazio's sporting director confirming that Romagnoli has given a return to Rome the green light, it seems increasingly unlikely that the left-footed central defender will be partnering Tosin Adarabioyo in West London next term.

"Romagnoli accepted the offer," says Igli Tare, before pointing out that a deal is far from done. "But the problem is those damn commissions to be paid to agent Enzo Raiola. The will of the two parties is to find a definitive agreement."

Newcastle are also fans of Romangoli. The Magpies are no longer in contention after snapping up Sven Botman from Lille however.

First-team Arsenal ace set for Premier League move with club 'close' to completing transfer

More departures are expected from Arsenal before the end of the season and Bernd Leno could be the next to leave.

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno appears to be closing in on a move to Fulham this summer as the German seeks out first-team football ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Aaron Ramsdale was signed from Sheffield United last summer with a view to challenging Leno for the number one spot at the Emirates. But instead, the England international left the 30-year-old in his wake, becoming Mikel Arteta's firm favourite in north London.

Leno arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2018 from Bayer Leverkusen and spent most of that time as the Gunners' first-choice shot-stopper. But having entered the final year of his contract, the club are open to letting him, and according to West London Sport, Fulham are closing in on a deal for him.

It is perhaps not a surprise to see Leno moving towards the exit door. Last season he spoke of his disappointment at being displaced by Ramsdale and hinted that he would pursue first-team football.

"It was a setback and a bitter moment," the Germany international told Spox via Goal. "But that's sport. You have to accept that. It wasn't easy, but I couldn't feel sorry for myself. I wanted to attack again immediately. I don't want to say I was a pawn, but when the results aren't right, sometimes things happen quickly in football.

"The coach wanted to set a new impulse - and then the [improved] results came. That was bitter for me because I had held up well before that. I had never experienced anything like that in my career before. But I looked ahead. My ambition is to always play, I know what I can do. I'm not 20 anymore, where I could say: 'I still have time'."

Fulham lodge second bid to sign West Ham United defender Issa Diop

Fulham have made a second bid to sign West Ham defender Issa Diop, according to Foot Mercato.

A host of French clubs have shown an interest in Diop, but it's Fulham who are making serious attempts to sign the French defender.

The Cottagers submitted a bid of around £10m which was rejected immediately. They have come up with another offer of around £12.8m, which is close to what the Hammers expect.

As of now, no agreement has been reached. Negotiations are ongoing as the two clubs do not yet agree on the bonuses in this transfer.

Exit soon?

Diop arrived at the club four seasons ago from Toulouse and it seems his time at the club is coming to an end.

He is likely to drop down the pecking order at the club after the Hammers have signed Nayef Aguerd this summer.

At the moment, it looks like West Ham are happy with the up-front payment, but they want to strike a deal on the bonuses as well.

Diop struggled to make an impact last season, and it became very clear that David Moyes was far from impressed.

It was an injury-hit campaign for the Hammers, where they lost Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma for a lengthy on the sidelines.

The door was open for Diop to cement his position on the side. While Craig Dawson did incredibly well to earn the faith of his manager, the same can't be said about Diop.

Lyon are interested as well, but it seems Fulham are leading the chase at the moment. Diop could be heading to another London club if everything goes smoothly.

Report: Fulham make bid for Hammer

Fulham have made a bid worth £12m plus add-ons to sign Issa Diop from West Ham this summer, per The Athletic.

The promoted side are said to have already made an offer of £10m plus add-ons, which was rejected, but have come back with a second offer worth £12m plus add-ons.

The Cottagers want Diop to sign a five-year contract if he does join them in this transfer window.

The Irons have already signed Nayef Aguerd from Rennes and Diop is now seen as an expendable option within the squad.

Diop only made 13 Premier League appearances last season and he could now be set for an exit this summer.

As well as Fulham, there is also interest from French club Lyon, who want to take him back to Ligue 1.

It remains to be seen if they will table a bid to rival Fulham's offer but it does not appear that they have done so yet.

Romano: Manchester United midfielder in London to complete medical and sign paperwork for transfer

Fabrizio Romano: Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira will undergo medical today to complete Fulham transfer

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Andreas Pereira will undergo medical tests today to complete his transfer move to Fulham. The Manchester United midfielder is expected to ply his trade with the newly-promoted Premier League side beyond this summer.

Pereira is currently in London to undergo medical procedures and officially become a Fulham player shortly. After completion, he will sign a contract for four years which also includes an option to extend the deal until 2027. Paperworks are already ready to be completed with Man United at this point.

Both clubs have already reached an agreement over the transfer fees involved regarding the Brazilian international's switch. The Cottagers will pay £10million up front plus another £3million in bonuses if certain objectives are met moving forward.

Great business from Man Utd!

One of the heavy criticisms that have been put forward by the supporters has been our inability to get the best out of player sales. Fortunately, the Red Devils seem to have finally made a good piece of business in that regard, with the fans acknowledging it as well.

In fact, the amount we are set to receive would be even more impressive considering how Pereira has just 12 months left in his current contract with us. In any case, this move could prove to be of real help for all the parties involved under the current circumstances.

The 26-year-old himself played a major role in doing so as he was excellent for Flamengo when he was on loan with them in the previous campaign. Perhaps continuing that form in the English top-flight would greatly help him convince Tite that he can do the same in the top competitions as well.

After all, with the 2022 Qatar World Cup drawing close, the move to Marco Silva's side could give Pereira the right surroundings to make his case. It would be a stern task indeed, but not impossible, looking at how the midfielder has performed over the past year or so.

Issa Diop on verge of leaving West Ham for London rival in package that could surpass £17m

Fulham have made an improved offer to sign West Ham defender Issa Diop, according to reports from his native France.

Diop has spent four seasons with West Ham, but was much busier in the first two than the last couple. Indeed, last season, he only started 10 matches in the Premier League.

Already behind Kurt Zouma and Craig Dawson in the pecking order, Diop now faces the added complications of Angelo Ogbonna returning from injury and Nayef Aguerd signing for the club.

Furthermore, Diop's contract only has 12 months left to run on it. Therefore, he could be sacrificed this summer.

It was revealed by Foot Mercato on Wednesday night that Diop could yet end up staying in the Premier League. Despite interest from Lyon and Monaco in Ligue 1, Fulham have been trying to sign the 25-year-old.

According to the French source, the newly promoted Premier League outfit have made two offers so far for Diop. The first was worth €12m (£10.2m), which was rejected, before a new bid of €15m (£12.8m).

It remains on the table, since West Ham are yet to respond. There is a feeling that all that is holding up an agreement is the incorporation of bonuses.

Talks were said to be continuing, and indeed, on Thursday morning, fellow French source RMC Sport provided an update.

It is now claimed that a deal for Fulham to sign Diop is down to the details. The total package should surpass €20m (£17m).

Fulham could help Issa Diop relaunch career
At the age of 25, it could be the ideal time for Diop to try something new.

Back in his days with Toulouse, the centre-half was a promising prospect. Unfortunately, he has struggled to develop into the player he was capable of becoming.

But all is not lost and a fresh start with a club where he will play more could be what Diop needs to revive his career.

Fulham want to strengthen their squad ahead of their Premier League return. While their defensive record was good last season, they conceded the most goals out of the three promoted sides.

Hence, adding a new centre-back with a point to prove may be beneficial. Diop could soon be competing with the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo, Tim Ream and Terence Kongolo at Craven Cottage.

One would imagine he would have a much better chance of starting there than across London with West Ham.

Premier League club Fulham and Oxford City form partnership

OXFORD City have formed a 'ground-breaking' partnership with Premier League club Fulham.

The initiative will help strengthen the development of young players and coaches at the Vanarama National League South side.

The clubs' growing relationship enabled City to sign former Fulham youngster Zico Asare last summer, with the defender recently earning a move to Vanarama National League club Maidenhead United following an impressive season.

In turn, the partnership will provide a pathway to a Category One academy for any bright prospects at Court Place Farm.

City say the initiative is based on 'shared values and footballing philosophies' and co-owner Justin Merritt explained it helps the club towards its ultimate goal.

He said: "This is a ground-breaking partnership for Oxford City which will be mutually beneficial to both clubs.

"Our medium to long-term ambition is to go full-time and to develop more young footballers.

"This partnership is invaluable as it not only creates additional playing opportunities for our academy players but also provides a platform for our coaches to develop and gain invaluable knowledge and experience.

"The relationship with Fulham has been growing, which last season led to the signing of Zico Asare.

"Formalising the working relationship via an official partnership means both clubs can take it to the next level.

"We look forward to working with Fulham and continuing to advance footballing knowledge, experience and opportunities for our players and coaches."

Asare is one of three players to leave City for higher-division clubs this summer, with Ewan Clark moving to Bristol City and George Harmon joining Scottish Premiership side Ross County.

City head coach Ross Jenkins hopes those stories show the value of dropping down the divisions to get regular football.

He said: "To be associated with a club like Fulham is only a positive.

"They will help, it's another link to a big football club as well as Oxford United.

"I think there will be a few more Zicos coming out of Fulham, it's not about ability it's sometimes about timing.

"If we can have access to some of those players early those are the boys we'd like to attract.

"We've proven stepping down from the pro game to Oxford City does get you a move eventually.

"It's important the boys see it as well, the challenge is going from full-time to part-time.

"The end goal is to get back into full-time and hopefully Zico has paved the way for that."

City coaches will attend Continuing Professional Development sessions delivered by Fulham to broaden staff's knowledge of issues such as player identification, football philosophy, player development and coaching curriculum.

The partnership will also see the two clubs' women's teams work closely to strengthen female football opportunities.

Mike Cave, academy director at Fulham, said: "Formalising a partnership with Oxford City is great news for both clubs after a long-standing awareness of each other's key philosophies and aspirations.

"While we sit at different ends of the football pyramid, the core values and ethos of Fulham are shared by Justin and his team which is why we were so keen to collaborate.

"We are very excited about the potential of this partnership by supporting the development of Oxford City's programmes and in-turn providing players with an initial opportunity to a Category One football academy."

Crystal Palace and Fulham in transfer battle for former Serie A player

Crystal Palace and Fulham transfer latest emerges ahead of the new season.

Crystal Palace and Fulham are both being linked with a move for Flamengo striker Pedro.

The London pair are said to be interested in luring the Brazilian to England this summer.

Pedro, 25, has been on the books of his current club since 2020 and has caught the eye in the Brasileiro Série A since then.

Reporter Marco Conterio claims both Crystal Palace and Fulham are keen to lure him back to Europe as they both prepare for next term in the Premier League (see tweet below):

More on Pedro
The Rio de Janeiro-born attacker has made 123 appearances for Flamengo over the past couple of seasons and has fired 46 goals in all competitions.

He started out at Fluminense and scored 31 goals in 93 games as a youngster to earn himself a move over to Italy back in 2019.

Fiorentina snapped him up but he struggled to make an impact with the Serie A outfit and moved back home to Brazil after just four months.

Fulham and Crystal Palace latest
Fulham are gearing up for their return to the top flight after winning the Championship title and have brought in midfielder Joao Palhinha this summer, with more arrivals expected.

Pedro is someone who could provide some strong competition up top for Aleksander Mitrovic.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are preparing for their second year under Patrick Viera after finishing 12th in his first.

The Eagles have brought in Malcolm Ebiowei from Derby County and Sam Johnstone from West Bromwich Albion in this transfer window.

Manchester United Star Set To Undergo Medical To Seal Move Away

Andreas Pereira is in London today for a medical ahead of his permanent switch to Fulham from Manchester United this summer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Fulham agreed on a deal in principle with Manchester United towards the end of last month for the signature of the Brazilian midfielder.

Pereira is not part of Erik ten Hag's plans and the midfielder's preference was to stay at Flamengo where he spent last season on loan.

However, Fulham boss Marco Silva has managed to convince the player to move to Craven Cottage and the move is now imminent.

It has been claimed that the midfielder is in London today where he is expected to undergo a medical.

The final agreement is in place between the two clubs and paperwork is being finalised for the transfer.

The 26-year-old will sign a long-term contract with Fulham once he successfully completes his medical with the west London side.

Manchester United are set to bag a fee of £8m and another £2m in potential add-ons as part of the agreement.

Pereira joined Manchester United from PSV Eindhoven's academy in 2012 and made 75 senior appearances for the club.

Agent says Fulham and Nottingham Forest in talks to sign 'amazing no 10'

Ligue 1-winning Lille midfielder Yusuf Yazici is in talks over a move to the Premier League with Fulham and Nottingham Forest keen, the Turkey international's agent tells Sport Express.

After a slow start to the transfer window, Fulham and Forest have exploded out of the blocks this month.

Joao Palhinha should be joined at Craven Cottage (at last) by Andreas Pereira and Manor Solomon. Steve Cooper's Forest, meanwhile, have added Moussa Niakhate to Dean Henderson and Giulian Biancone.

And Yazici now finds himself in the middle of a tug-of-war, with Steve Cooper and Marco Silva on either end of the rope.

"Yes, Fulham and Nottingham Forest are interested in Yusuf," says Adam Chebedzhi, the 25-year-old's representative.

"Now, the clubs are negotiating."

Fulham and Forest in Yusuf Yazici talks

A cultured and skilful attacking midfielder with a penchant for making well-timed late runs into the penalty area, Yazici was a major part of Lille's shock Ligue 1 title win in 2020/21, alongside fellow Turkey internationals Zeki Celik and Burak Yilmaz.

He scored 14 goals that season, before finding the net eight times in just ten matches during a terrific loan spell at CSKA Moscow during the second half of 2021/22.

"Yusuf Yazici is an amazing number 10," one Mesut Ozil said a couple of years ago. "We have a lot of similarities and see I myself in him. His left foot, his positional sense, his passing and calmness on the ball..."

With Fulham and Forest likely to find themselves towards the bottom end of the table next term – providing they do not 'do a Leeds' or a Brentford – Yazici's eye for goal could be the difference between survival and failure.

Yazici would seemingly fill a Philip Zinckernagel-shaped void in Cooper's City Ground squad. Fulham, meanwhile, lost their own talismanic number ten when Liverpool snapped up Fabio Carvalho after an outstanding breakthrough campaign.

Club Still Yet To Meet West Ham United's Valuation Of Player

Fulham are still short of West Ham's valuation of French defender Issa Diop with talks still ongoing between the two clubs, according to Sky Sports News.

Diop was a bit-part player at West Ham last season and with only a year left on his contract, the club are prepared to sell him this summer.

Lyon have been interested in taking the defender back to France but he is reportedly close to agreeing to a move to Fulham ahead of the new season.

There has been talk of the two clubs being close to agreeing on a deal but it has been claimed that there is still some distance between Fulham and West Ham.

The Cottagers are yet to agree to meet West Ham's asking price for a defender who will be available on a free transfer next year.

Fulham's proposed move is still short of West Ham's demands but it has been claimed that talks are still ongoing.

The Hammers want around £20m before they would agree to sanction Diop's departure this summer.

Fulham boss Marco Silva wants Premier League-proven players ahead of their return to the top flight.

Diop is someone he likes and the Portuguese is pushing Fulham to get a deal done to sign the centre-back.

Andreas Pereira to undergo Fulham medical ahead of move from Man Utd

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is to undergo a medical at Fulham ahead of a permanent transfer to Craven Cottage.

90min revealed at the end of June that Fulham had been given permission to discuss personal terms with Pereira, having agreed a fee with United.

The 26-year-old has been on loan at Flamengo for the past year, playing a significant role in their league and Copa Libertadores campaigns, and the Brazilian club confirmed earlier in the week that his spell was coming to an end.

Flamengo did hold out hope of landing Pereira on a permanent basis, but 90min understands that Pereira is now set to undergo a medical with Fulham - who are back in the Premier League after storming to the Championship title last season.

Pereira has previously said that staying at Flamengo would be his preference, but admitted "if it doesn't work out, I'll always leave with my head held high. I love the club, I love Flamengo, I'm Flamengo. I will come back in the future."

Should Pereira come through his medical unscathed, he'll become Fulham's third signing of the summer. Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha has joined from Sporting CP, while a deal has also been finalised for Juventus teenager Kristian Sekularac.

As for Pereira's spell at Manchester United, he has made 75 appearances for the club after debuting under Louis van Gaal in 2014.

Report: Fulham closing in on signing 'really good' defender

According to RMC Sport, Fulham are closing in on the signing of Issa Diop from West Ham.

The French centre-back is set to join the Cottagers in a deal reportedly worth €20m (£17m).

It will just be a short trip across London for Diop as he swaps West Ham for Fulham, and this could be a great chance for the 25-year-old to reignite his career.

Admittedly, Diop hasn't been in the best form as of late. He's slipped down the pecking order at West Ham behind the likes of Kurt Zouma and Craig Dawson, while the addition of Nayef Aguerd was probably the final name in his Hammers coffin.

However, a move to Fulham should suit him to a tee. The Whites certainly need a new defender as they're currently reliant on a 34-year-old Tim Ream at centre-half, and there's reason to believe that Diop could be a star under Marco Silva.

Once described as a 'really good' defender, let's not forget how brilliant Diop was when he first arrived in the UK.

Indeed, it wasn't too long ago that Manchester United were being touted a £75m fee for Diop, while Liverpool had a look at him just two years ago.

If Marco Silva can get Diop back playing his best football, Fulham could have a very sturdy defence, especially if they couple the Frenchman with Tosin Adarabioyo to form an incredibly tall and athletic centre-back pairing.

This is certainly a step in the right direction for Fulham as they look to stave off a fourth consecutive Premier League relegation.

Six Pro Contracts Signed!

The Club is delighted to announce that a total of six Academy players have signed professional contracts.

All six have made a huge impact across the Under-18s and Under-21s and will be hoping to continue their excellent development over the coming campaigns.

Centre-back Charlie Robinson was quickly called up to Steve Wigley's 21s after impressing at the age group below. He made a total of 16 appearances in a team that cruised to the PL2 Division Two title. His excellent one-on-one defending, paired with his ability to pick out an inch-perfect pass, made him a key asset.

Academy Director, Mike Cave added: "Charlie had a standout season, performing extremely well for both competitive teams. A technical and physical defender, he personifies many of the characteristics the Academy and Club value as a young man and player."

Like Charlie, midfielder George Okkas also enjoyed a tremendous breakthrough season. With 23 Under-18 appearances under his belt, the Cypriot youth international was a major cog in Ali Melloul's machine last season.

Often the engine in the middle, George became a regular and was often on the ball, dictating play for his team. He will be stepping up to the Under-21s for the 2022/23 season.

"George performed very well last season, bringing his technical and tactical strengths to the centre of midfield," said Mike. "The signing of his professional contract is recognition of both his commitment to the Club and his continued development and performances."

Striker Olly Sanderson will also be stepping up an age group, after a prolific season. The 18-year-old smashed in 15 goals and grabbed five assists in just 23 appearances and will be eager to record similar numbers against older opposition.

Mike continued: "Olly finished last season as the Under-18s' top goal scorer, and his relentless hard-work on and off the pitch has made him a role model to players across the programme. This season will see Olly attack his next challenge as he looks to make a similar impact for the Under-21s."

Delano McCoy-Splatt was another who played a big part for our Under-18s. After signing a scholarship deal last Summer, the midfielder went on to make 23 appearances and scored a goal in the process.

The youngster combines great skill with even better vision to help build attacks for his side from the middle of the pitch. He'll be one of the more experienced players under Ali, so will likely become a key figure for the younger scholars.

"Delano will be returning this Summer from a period away representing his country at the CONCAF Under-20 Championships," said Mike. "Following a very good season for the Under-18s, his capabilities to impact games both with and without the ball will continue to see him be an instrumental figure at the heart of midfield."

Attacker Imani Lanquedoc was another who signed a professional contract after a successful season. The 18-year-old, who was utilised mainly on the wing but also in midfield, scored five and assisted four in his 23 appearances.

"Imani's physical and technical skill has seen him utilised in a variety of positions across both age groups last season. This flexibility and professionalism holds him in good stead as he signs his professional contract and drives on to establish himself as key contributor for Steve Wigley's side this season."

Like Charlie Robinson and Delano McCoy-Splatt, Terrell Works also came up as a scholar prior to last season. He was implemented both out wide and as a number nine and became more and more involved as the season progressed. He scored two and assisted three, with one excellent finish coming against Brighton at Motspur Park.

Mike went on to say: "Terrell has been part of the Academy from an early age and last season began to fulfil his potential as an outstanding technician and attacking midfielder. I'm confident we will see many goals and assists from him in the coming seasons for the Under-18s and beyond."

Trio of clubs interested in Fulham man – Made 'eligible' for transfer, 'hopes to restart' career

Fulham defender Terence Kongolo could be set for a return to the Eredivisie this summer, with three clubs interested in his signature.

That's according to Algemeen Dagblad, who say Feyenoord, Vitesse and FC Utrecht are 'considering' bringing the defender back to the Netherlands.

According to their information, Kongolo has been made 'eligible' for a loan deal this summer following the Cottagers' return to the Premier League.

The defender has spent the last two seasons with Fulham following a move from Huddersfield Town but has only managed a 'sporadic' appearance record in those two years.

Recent reports in England have made it clear he is on the list of players the Cottagers would be happy to move on this summer, with Marco Silva sending Kongolo and three other players to train away from the squad in pre-season.

It seems he could now be offered a chance to return to the Eredivisie as Feyenoord, Vitesse, and Utrecht think about a deal.

That's at least according to Algemeen Dagblad, with Feyenoord fansite 1908 insisting their club have no interest in a deal at this moment in time.

Kongolo would reportedly be happy to make the move from Fulham and 'hopes to restart' his career in the Netherlands rather than Turkey, where he also has options.

Six Fulham academy starlets turn professional

Six of Fulham's outstanding academy scholars have signed professional contracts, the club confirmed this afternoon.

Charlie Robinson was swiftly promoted into Steve Wigley's under 23s after a number of encouraging early displays for the under 18s. The centre back, who won the Premier League's scholar of the year award, played sixteen times as the under-23s won the PL2 Division Two title at a canter.

Cypriot midfielder George Okkas enjoyed an excellent campaign at the heart of the under-18 engine room – playing 23 times as Ali Melloul's side finished a transitional season under a new coach incredibly strongly.

Eighteen year-old centre forward Olly Sanderson will move into the under 21 squad after scoring fifteen goals and adding five assists in 23 matches for Fulham's under 18s. Delano McCoy-Splatt, Imani Lanquedoc and Terrell Works have also put pen to paper on professional contracts after emerging as key players in Melloul's new-look starting line-up and will look to kick on.

Fulham: Ex makes exciting claim on potential new signing

ExWHUemployee has claimed that Bernd Leno could be about to join newly promoted to the Premier League side Fulham this summer.

Premier League side Arsenal are reportedly going to sell seven players this summer, and one of them is Bernd Leno, which has caught the attention of Fulham, who are reportedly close to signing the German keeper, who was an outcast for the North London club last season.

Aaron Ramsdale was brought into Arsenal at the start of last season, and this meant that Leno was dropped to the bench and did not feature regularly. The 30-year-old featured just four times in the Premier League for the Gunners last season, so he might be keen on a move away from the Emirates.

With Leno not featuring heavily for the Gunners last season, and Fulham showing interest in him, Ex spoke on The Transfer Show and claimed that the move looks like it could happen in the upcoming weeks.

(8:01) "Leno to Fulham is the deal that we said before, and it looks like that could happen," Ex said.

TIF Thoughts on Ex's comments...

With Fulham gaining promotion to the Premier League last season, they have signed Joao Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon for £18 million, but in order to compete in the league next season, they will be hoping to bring in some new faces to the squad before the season starts.

Leno would be a good option for Fulham as he would add much-needed Premier League experience to their squad after he has made 101 appearances in the top flight of England over the past four seasons he has been with the Gunners.

Last time in the Premier League, Fulham got relegated the season after they got promoted, and Leno could be a good second signing for them, but to stop this from happening again they will need to add more players to the squad in other areas of the field.

'Under certain conditions': President gives Newcastle, Fulham hope of deal

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has now explained what is holding his Serie A side back from signing free agent Alessio Romagnoli, against interest from Fulham and Newcastle United.

AC Milan have released the centre-back after seven years at the San Siro after his contract expired on June 30. Romagnoli had joined the Rossoneri from Roma for €25m (£21m) plus add-ons in 2015, and progressed to become club captain and also made 247 appearances.

But coach Stefano Pioli began to lose faith in the 27-year-old last season with Pierre Kalulu emerging as his preferred partner for Fikayo Tomori. Romagnoli would only feature in one of AC Milan's last 11 top-flight games for nine minutes as the Rossoneri lifted the Scudetto.

Lazio are open to Romagnoli now returning to Rome, but the Stadio Olimpico outfit are not close to signing the 12-cap Italy international. Il Messaggero note the Biancocelesti are still some way away from meeting his demands, and also from paying what his agent requests.

Lazio chief explains delay in signing Romagnolo amid Fulham, Newcastle interest

The distance between Lazio, Romagnoli and the defender's representative's valuations are such that Lotito threatens to walk away from a deal. But talks are ongoing as he has given head coach Maurizio Sarri his word that two centre-halves will join their club this summer.

"I have a commitment with Sarri for two goalkeepers and two defenders," Lotito declared, via quotes by Il Messaggero. "One centre-half has arrived, and the other will arrive... Under certain conditions, [Romagnoli] can stay at home."

Lazio have already agreed a €7m (£6m) transfer, plus €3m (£2.5m) in add-ons, with Hellas Verona for Nicolo Casale. The Biancocelesti are also close to signing Mario Gila from Real Madrid for €6m (£5m). Two transfers that threaten to stop Romagnoli returning to Rome.

Fulham and Newcastle would also welcome Lotito reaffirming that Lazio will only advance their interest in Romagnoli based on the terms he and his agent seek. TuttoMercatoWEB note the Cottagers have already offered the Italian a contract of €4m-a-year (£65k-a/w).

Marco Silva is driving the west London outfit's interest in Romagnoli after guiding Fulham to Premier League promotion. But the Portuguese faces competition from Eddie Howe's Saudi-backed Newcastle, as SS Lazio News claim they, too, have offered him €4m-a-year.

Leno 'agrees terms with Fulham'

Bernd Leno has 'verbally agreed' personal terms ahead of a proposed move from Arsenal to Fulham, according to reports from his native Germany this evening.

The 30 year-old goalkeeper has been made available for transfer by the Gunners this summer after Matt Turner moved to the Emirates to become Mikel Arteta's number two in goal. Leno is eager to play regular first-team football in order to earn a place in the Germany squad for the World Cup in Qatar at the end of the year and is attracted to staying in London.

Sky Sports Germany correspondent Florian Plettenburg reports that Leno has agreed terms with Fulham on a three-year deal, with the Whites holding an option to extend that contract by a further year. Plettenburg claims that Arsenal and Fulham are yet to agree a fee, with the Gunners holding out for at least £10m for a goalkeeper who is out of favour and has less than twelve months left on his current deal.

Report: Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has agreed contract with Fulham

Bernd Leno is close to sealing a move away from Arsenal, with 90min reporting that the goalkeeper has now agreed a contract with Fulham as talks continue.

Gunners fans have been expecting Leno to depart for much of the last few months. He spent the majority of last season as understudy to Aaron Ramsdale at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta has also signed Matt Turner ahead of the new campaign. And with that, Leno looks set to move on for a fresh challenge before the window shuts.

Reports this week claimed that Fulham were in negotiations with Arsenal about a deal. And 90min has now provided a further update, claiming that the Germany international has now agreed a contract with Fulham.

That leaves the two clubs negotiating over a fee for the 30-year-old. But Arsenal are willing to let the stopper leave after four years in North London.

Leno agrees contract with Fulham ahead of Arsenal exit

It looks to be a real coup for Fulham to close in on signing Leno. He has huge amount of experience at the highest level. And he is potentially approaching what could be the peak years of his career.

Leno was unlucky in some respects to lose his spot to Ramsdale so quickly. He had arguably been one of Arsenal's only decent performers in their dreadful start to the campaign. And he has been labelled 'magnificent' in the past.

Fulham are obviously looking to put an end to a run of moving between the top two divisions in England. And on their previous stay in the top-flight, they had Alphonse Areola between the sticks.

Areola performed extremely well. So signing someone of Leno's calibre could have a major impact on their fortunes.

Arsenal meanwhile, should receive a reasonable fee for someone unlikely to play a lot of football for them next season.

Fulham interested in Yusuf Yazici

Fulham are reportedly interested in Yusuf Yazici, with the Lille star free to leave the French side in this window.

According to Sun Sport, Fulham are interested in signing Yusuf Yazici in this window. The Turkey international has lost his place at Lille, which could prompt the French side to cash in on the attacking midfielder with the Cottagers and Nottingham Forest keen.

Fulham have been very busy in the past few weeks as Marco Silva finally gets his way regarding transfers. After winning the Championship and gaining automatic promotion into the Premier League, the biggest challenge for the Cottagers will be to avoid getting relegated from the top flight immediately after their return.

Silva is keen on strengthening several key areas of his squad. The London club remain in the hunt for players that would improve their prospects of remaining in the Premier League beyond next season. After the arrival of Joao Palhinha from Sporting CP, the Cottagers are closing in on Bernd Leno, who has been their top goalkeeping target.

Now, Silva is likely to focus on bringing in attacking reinforcements, with Manor Salomon also getting close to a move. The Cottagers are also looking for an attacking midfielder in this window to fill the void left by Fabio Carvalho's exit, with several options mentioned.

Yusuf Yazici is the latest to be linked with a move, as the Turkey international is free to leave Lille. The attacking midfielder played a big role in Les Dogues' 2021 Ligue 1 triumph, but his form drastically faded since. Yazici was sent on loan to CSKA Moscow in January and has since returned to Lille for their pre-season.

However, with the French side enduring a disappointing season and finishing tenth in the table, they are willing to cash in on several players in this window. After the sale of Sven Botman and the likely departure of Renato Sanches in the coming days, Lille could look to part ways with Yazici. Fulham and Nottingham Forest have been interested in signing the Turkish international, who might come in cheap.

Lille see no future for the 25-year-old attacking midfielder and would like to cash in now and use the funds to bring in new players. They paid £15 million to Trabzonspor in August 2019, although they may not get such a fee for him in this window.

However, with Fulham closing in on Andreas Pereira on a three-year deal, it is difficult to see where Yazici might fit in. Silva may consider him as an option to add quality depth and be a competitive presence for Pereira in the attacking midfield slot.

Whether Fulham are serious about their pursuit is a question the next few weeks could answer. However, Yazici could be a smart addition to to Silva's side as they gear up for a tough season ahead in the Premier League.

Fulham remain in talks to sign West Ham centre-back Issa Diop after Marco Silva's side see two bids already rejected for the Frenchman by Hammers... and remain in talks for Arsenal's Bernd Leno

Fulham are remaining in pursuit of West Ham centre-back Issa Diop
The French defender has been deemed surplus to requirements by Hammers
Marco Silva's side have already seen two bids rejected for the 25-year-old
The newly promoted side also remain in talks for Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno

Fulham have made two offers for West Ham defender Issa Diop as they try to convince David Moyes to sell.

Their initial offer of £10m plus add-ons was rejected and a new bid of £12million plus a further £8m in add-ons has been put forward for the 25-year-old.

The two sides could soon come to an agreement over a fee for the defender, with the Hammers wanting to recoup the £20million for the 25-year-old who arrived from Toulouse in 2018.

Marco Silva's side are looking to bring in a number of reinforcements in the summer window

The 25-year-old centre-back, who arrived as a club record signing, has been deemed surplus to requirements by David Moyes and his staff ahead of the upcoming season.

The Frenchman is one of five central defender options, with his chance of a starting spot lowering following the summer arrival of Nayef Aguerd from Rennes in a deal worth €30m (£25.3m).

Diop has been slowly fading out of the West Ham starting eleven having only made 13 Premier League appearances in the previous campaign - compared to 32 caps in 2019-20.

As reported by Sportsmail last month, the Cottagers remain in talks with Arsenal over a move for are pressing goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Marco Silva wants to find a new number one this summer after Paulo Gazzaniga and Marek Rodak both played in the Cottagers' Championship-winning season.

Out-of-contract Lazio shot-stopper Thomas Strakosha has also been on the club's radar, but Leno looks set to be the target that they will pursue.
