:plus one:

Although BDR should be well rested as he barely played against Sunderland. Might turn out just fine.

Chelsea rushing in new players + James who's been injured is a double edged sword for them. Hopefully we'll manage to use that to our advantage.

Chelsea without James look half the team, I'd be putting pressure on him, few heavy challenges and he will want out, he's been brought in too soon according to most

Agreed.
Also Ziyech will either be completely useless or best Chelsea's player. Let's hope it's the former. That failed transfer must have some kind of effect on him.

Ive said it before, sometimes Mitro is just a bit cumbersome. He's brilliant when he can get a shot on goal and strong etc but he does also often get the ball stuck under his feet and fumbles a bit at times whihc can break down attacks at times. Not the nimblest.

Yeh I'd say 60 mins likely - just hope he doesnt end up with only 10-15 minutes to work with again.

He was MOM against Sunderland and really stood out - we need some help unlocking them here

I like the creativity so far.  Andreas & Willian have been dangerous, and both wings have show great change of pace to open up the cross.  Mitro has been contributing when he drops back, here's to hoping he can get his touch back in front of goal.  I hope Boa can whisper some magic words into his ear...

We are putting in a good performance but Chelsea seem to have the edge and look good for a couple of second half goals.

Be great if we were to make attacking substitutions with Cairney and Solomon and grab a late winner, unlikely but not impossible.

Him and Willian are on a similar level of quality.
BDR is good and can pop up with a goal here and there, but he's not that next world class level up.

World Class players:

Willian
Solomon
Mitro
Tete
Palhinha

and on this seasons form you could also argue Ream and Robinson.

It's less pace as it is positioning and reading the game. Ream reads it better and is more alert. Hope we can find a Joachim Anderson style CB alongside Diop once Ream retires. He needs that type of player longside him

Agreed. For me it's a luxury having a player at Solomon caliber, let alone not starting him.

Skills wise, he's on par with Palhinha, Leno and Robinson (in relation to position).

Mudryk is not better than him and he's already starting for Chelsea.

It's about time to start integrating him. We'll lose some of BDR's experience but can get so much more offensively.

Our defense is really coming together here starting the second half of the season. Now that has coincided with a disappearance from our offense. Hopefully we figure out how to make both of them work soon.

I think we should give more consideration to the quality of our opponents.  Chelsea, Newcastle, Spurs and Chelsea again. Many teams will score quite few goals against those. Against Sunderland we created enough to score 5 goals at least. I'll say, start worrying if it looks the same against the lesser opponents.

Great performance. Possibly should have made a bit more of it in the first half. Generally solid apart from Leno's slight rush of blood.

Amazing how solid we now feel. They really didn't get up any head of steam at all.

I don't know what has happened to Mitro but he's not worth his place at the moment. If it's an injury then he needs time and possibly treatment to get over it. If not then he needs an SAS style fitness regime!

Definitely Kenny for MOTM.  Helps with a player nipping at your heels...  :dft012:

Great effort by the whole squad tonight. Sorry to upset the Sky commentary team by nicking a point though.....they must be heartbroken. Mind you, they grudgingly gave MoM to Kenny.

What makes you think he is not fit? He runs effortlessly, and tracks back all the time. He's in a bit of a slump quality wise, but it's not as if he's not pulling his weight effort wise.

He usually does yes. Tonight was completely different for some reason. He barely moved

That is just not true, is it? He was back defending all the time.

Thanks for that. For me he looked sluggish. Might not be fitness - could be an injury. When he did get near the ball his touch let him down. I didn't see him find space in the box or really attack the ball.

I disagree, I thought he worked hard and was often outnumbered tonight. Away from home against a traditionally tough opponent and he is unlikely to get the space and opportunities he will at home to a different opponent. we have played Chelsea twice, Newcastle and Tottenham in the last 4, these are tough games and he will bring us important goals in the games we feel we should win, IMO.

I hope you're right. I just think he is off his best at the moment. I agree he was outnumbered. I didn't expect goals but I wanted to see him making the little runs that have lost his markers earlier in the season. I don't doubt his workrate either but it wasn't effective. If he was spending a lot if time in defending, I didn't notice it on TV.
