Title: Sidwell
Post by: Tom on January 16, 2011, 03:16:03 AM
Anyone else disappointed he didn't get some time on the pitch in the second half?

Not really Mr Tom. Look what happened to Wayne Bridge on his debut...

I think MH wants players to blend a bit before he runs them out, and in any event with two subs used up already he was probably being cautious in case of injury and not going down 10 men away in really what was a 6-pointer.

Not really I though Dembele and AJ were the correct subs today.  With Murphy and Etuhu playing pretty well today a CM wasn't going to be first off the bench.

He'll get a run out at home next week i expect. Preferably once we are 3-0 up.

'I think MH wants players to blend a bit before he runs them out'

Hope this doesn't apply to the striker he'd better hurry up and buy.

Agree re Sidwell, we were doing fine in midfield - I'm not even sure who he's going to replace to be honest.

I would have liked to have seen a bit of him but as the game unfolded it became obvious that he was not needed. If his presence does nothing more than keep Dickson playing at such a great level, then he will have been worth it.

In the first half, yes.  But Murphy and Etuhu were playing too well in the second half to consider pulling either.
