A fair estimate would be that 20 of those must be considered to be genuine first team squad players and even that may be stretching it as Include Mitro  and Tosin. The remainder are our inexperienced U21 squad.

Imagine Godo will get a decent amount of game time due to us only having 3 senior wingers

From that list I can pick only 17 for the first team squad, with PERHAPS 4 others.   Attacking midfield (only TC and Pereira) is very very thin.

Goalkeepers
Bernd Leno
Marek Rodák

Defenders
Issa Diop
Tim Ream
Antonee Robinson
Kenny Tete
Tosin

Midfielders
Tom Cairney
Saša Lukić
João Palhinha
Andreas Pereira
Harrison Reed

Forwards
Bobby De Cordova-Reid
Aleksandar Mitrović
Carlos Vinicius
Willian
Harry Wilson

Maybe?
Kevin Mbabu
Luke Harris
Rodrigo Muniz
Jay Stansfield

I think Mbabu will be considered first team until we see a replacement come and LH was around the team all year and would expect more appearances. Optimistically we have 19 but I do agree we need reinforcements quickly.

Why is it considered "very, very thin" with two established players for what essentially is one position (attacking midfield)?

i suppose there will only be one fit for the start of the season and if tc gets injured then we are am less. and even so only having 2 is a gamble should injuries crop up.

We don't know when Pereira is ready. And TC is not injured as far as we know. I think it is the same for all positions, that if our two best players are injured we do look thin. Same as for almost all teams.

I still don't understand why anyone think we are lighter in attacking midfield than elsewhere, when we literally already have two established players there. We also have BDR, who has played that position many times.

Do we even have any other position currently with more than two main squad players? Maybe striker if we count Muniz (and Mitro).

Lukic and Harry Wilson can do a job in the position too. I actually think it might be Lukic's best position in the current set up.

There is a good argument for increasing the quality in the back up options, but there are plenty of bodies.
