To being in the championship next season.....the Riverside should be underway, and we'll hopefully see more wins than loses......and we could have a bright new manager in charger (Mr Parker)

Buffalo76

More games at least so plenty of Saturday/midweek action, better chance of winning more than losing, cheaper tickets ideally, chance to learn the lessons of a poor mega recruirment drive over last summer too.

In a sense, yes it will most likely be less stressful and depressing than watching us this season. However, at the moment I am just looking towards next game and certainly not looking forward to a season in an inferior league. I will allow myself to pretend that it's currently not over until it's actually over. If we go down, I will be devastated, but come the start of next season some optimism has likely returned.

I have been thinking something similar myself. Premier league is all well and good but its a roundabout that's ever harder to get on and it don't half hurt when you fall off.

I think the champo fits us better. Just like you, I like to win a few games from time to time, even have a good season like last year, and not spend 90% of our season worrying how many places/points from the drop zone we are.  I guess the Khans see it differently though. Can't blame them for ambition but after almost 60 years of following the whites, I've got used to the ups and downs. Every club has them, its a fact of football like. Doesn't mean I enjoy getting relegated, I'l be as miserable as sin for a bit but mission control understands that now and she just leaves me alone for a few days  :010:

Twig

Not really no. Poorer standard of football with more opponents playing some sort of long ball game and some horrible crude physical challenges. Officials that aren't up to Prem standard (which in itself isn't always adequate).

filham

It will not be too bad providing we can quickly establish ourselves in the top six and in the promotion race, mid table would be boring and bottom six really worrying.

Other than more fan friendly kick off days/times what is the advantage of being in the championship??

I don't understand fans that look forward to championship football & use 'hopefully win more football games' as a reason. If we win too many games we'll be back in the premier league where a lot of fans suggest they don't want to be....

Personally I think we're in for another struggle next season. All our better players will be snapped up & we're in for another heck of a rebuild, again, and we'll do well to avoid league 1.

I think the Championship can be sometimes viewed with rose tinted glasses - we remember only the good times but it's easy to forget how crap the refereeing is and the tactics that some of the teams use. It's is equally easy to forget that it's very hard to get promoted back but easier to slide down to league one!

I forgot to add....another possible chance of a visit to Wembley.....

Yes it's time we Won the FA Cup, instead of keep being knocked out by lower opposition in the 3rd Round.

Not unless we can get the right manager - maybe Wagner, Parker.....

Starters right now fr next season - Betts, Bryan, Ream, Mawson, Christie, McDonald, Ayité, Fonte
Hopefully we can get O'Riley and some other U23s into the team. We will need to uncover a striker or 2, probably loanees, although after last year the lest we rely on them the better.

Of course we will have £60-70 Mill in transfer fees.

SG

No not at all. Having worked our balls off to be promoted and to fulfill a dream of seeing FFC win at Wembley I am desperately disappointed to see it all disappear within 12 months. Added to which I struggle to make mid week games so that is money down the drain with my ST

Not sure all our better players will be snapped up as not sure they are that good. Some will but apart from Sess the rest will be looked at by lower Premier clubs and there is not many of those. We as a club have more money than most so should be in a position to fight off most clubs If the Khan's show some determination to get promoted again may even get most to stay.

Carborundum

Having grown up watching lower division football, it strikes me that the standard of football in the Championship is very very high.  Clearly the premier league is higher still.

On Sunday a quick straw poll of season ticket holders near where I sit suggested no-one is planning to relinquish their seat if / when relegation happens.  One or two waverers if by a miracle we survive and prices get hiked.  We practically all renewed before promotion at Championship prices.  The club has duly responded to our paying Championship prices by serving up Championship football.

Given the loss of income from the rebuild, I am not anticipating prices coming down that much

I am still, a little more optimistically after the events of last week, looking forward to the next game this season.

RaySmith

Still thinking of this season-of surviving, although I know it's unlikely, but could never accept defeat until it actually happens.

I think some have a rosy tinted view of the Championship, anyway. It can be tough and unforgiving, like when we hovered just above the relegation zone when Slavisa first took over from Kit.

Fulham have never bounced straight back up before, though why would you want to if you think the Championship is better?. but have gone straight in the other direction before. Well, then prices definitely would drop, I suppose.

Good things about the Championship - cheaper ticket prices, more games, and more wins - but if we get  too many wins we will end up back in the Prem!

ex-Pat

I wished we could forfeit the rest of the season, really looking forward to the championship back to winning ways......

Woolly Mammoth

We are not in the Championship yet, never surrender, plenty to play for no matter what happens.
I am sure Scott Parker will want to finish the season in a flourish.
So now that Scott is at the helm, I shall not concede defeat yet.
