Just read in Sky news that he will not commit one way or the other about his long term future. Surely he should do the decent thing & sign a long contract with clauses such as putting a sell on figure, which if met we could get a decent fee.
He owes the club for all the time & faith shown to him in his development.
Only a top 6 club or a big European club could afford him. Should he go to one of these clubs I very much doubt he would be a consistent starter.
He would just be a pawn to stop other clubs signing a potential top player. Just read the gossip columns to see that the "big" clubs are already at it.
We are well out of the PL as there is no way we could compete for a top 6 place. The present game is all about money & I will just wait for the bubble to burst as surely it will.

He was just saying that he has a contract until 2020 with Fulham and that's all he can say for the moment. It will be spun in several ways but as a fact that is right.

have we offered a contract or started talking to his agents as yet? or have they not entered into talks or turned down anything?

not heard anything or seen anything in the press

Sess had signed for Tottenham this time last year according to the press. Take what you hear with a grain of salt.

You seem to have answered your own question.
Maybe he's prepared to play for us next season, but if he plays well and we don't get promoted, wants to go to a mid-table PL team like Bournemouth in summer 2020, who may well not be able to afford more than £15m.
In that case he needs either a low release fee, which probably aren't agreeing to at this stage, or to be out of contract.

Ultimately he doesn't know who our manager will be next year, what division we'll be in the year after, and like us, he probably has little confidence in senior management, ie Tony Khan. So I can understand him wanting to protect himself, even if he loves Fulham.

He's a great Championship player, no good in the Premiership, should be grateful he"s at Fulham.

Fernhurst

I'm sure he loves Fulham, however, his professional development is in the forefront of his and his advisors minds.
The difference to his bank account is enormous if he runs his contract down and he is perfectly entitled to do so. Very cold hard decisions made these days by the players and their contracted clubs.
Playing for us next season may just be a keep fit exercise.
Would you drop him and play someone who will not jump out of tackles or is he too important to us??
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

Riversider

Sit him down with his agent and tell him bluntly that there is no way on Earth that he is going to be allowed to run his contract down, offer him an improved 3 year contract with a 12 month Club option to extend,
Set him a deadline of say July 15th to sign it , and explain that failure to do so will result in the club actively looking to sell to the highest bidder before the season starts,
His contract situation can not be allowed to be unresolved going in to the new season.

When hasn't he jumped out of tackles ?

Andy S

He's going at the end of season whatever he and his agent say. He no longer kiss's the badge and give his shirt away after each game.

aaronmcguigan

If he isn't signing a contract he may leave as soon as possible to the highest bidder. What's the point in wasting our time and his having him here all summer to leave on deadline day or something . Hope it's amicable at least. Would prefer him signing even a year extension to get extra cash but we've played ourselves into this situation. If he gets a big move then fairplay to him especially after the  season we've /he's had

Good plan, but absolutely no compulsion on Sess to sign for anybody when he could triple his deal when his contract ends.

Decent thing for whom? Us? If he was a tinpot player, the club would have got rid of him years ago without thinking twice about him and his future. Clubs aren't decent to the players when they don't want them anymore, so why we ever expect it the other way, I don't know.

HillingdonFFC

Apparently hes got a new agent & by all accounts hes been making himself a bit busy. Think we could see another Fredericks situation

Didn't he sign with the clubs preferred agent/agency? Part of the reason we don't see Matt O'Riley?

Heard Harvey Elliott's agent is looking to move him on, so don't expect to see him sign pro-terms.

Fernhurst

Blimey,,,, are we a sinking ship..... bit dispiriting.

Not sure what imaginary levers we can pull to stop him. Even if we decide to sell him this summer, we can't make him join another club if he doesn't want to.

Milo

Wish him well of course. Sad to see him go if true.

H4usuallysitting

All speculation....we haven't even got a manager at the moment - if it's Mr Parker - he's already shown faith in Mr Sess, so I'm thinking he's going nowhere...but I'd say it's subject to who becomes the manager
