Just watched the disgraceful 'high' lights of 'that' Derby game back in 1983. If that had been United the game would have been replayed. Even in the first half that bloke wandering about selling ice creams got in the way of Ray Houghton trying to take a corner. How sweet that play off second leg was after a 35 year wait!  049:gif

What happened at the Baseball Ground that day was an absolute disgrace as was the decision not to replay the game.

Whilst Fulham had pretty much thrown promotion away before that match even kicked off I realised for the first time just how corrupt football was when it came to how the smaller clubs were treated. And yes, if that had been United, Liverpool, Arsenal or Spurs a very different decision would have been made. They'd have probably been awarded the points without the match even  needing to be replayed.

Even now, some 36 years on, you only need to slightly scratch the surface to reveal the cesspit of corruption underneath.

Take FFP for example. On the face of it it's supposed to create a level playing field for all clubs but in reality it's nothing more than protectionism for the elite to ensure they can never lose their place at the top table.

Graham Kelly (aka Mr Pompous) was the league secretary back then, we had no chance of ever getting anywhere with him and his cronies.  :031:
