Corners

For some years we have been dreadful at taking what is in effect a free kick. Even if we can clear the 1st defender we just lob the ball hopefully somewhere in the penalty area. I have noticed that the most dangerous are those that are whipped in as some other sides do.
I remember Roger Brown, John Dempsey,Chris Coleman & Brede used to position themselves outside the area. When the corner came in they had a free run to attack the ball. Now we have Our CB¨S stood on the 6 yard line & having to jump from a standing position. They are unable to gain momentum & put power into their header.

I used to take corners from both sides & even though I was a RB I never seemed to have a problem taking a decent corner.
Do our players even practice this basic skill?
