Slaphead in Qatar

At least he looks like he's been working hard - looks a bit dishevelled and in need of a good nights sleep.

Decent interview tbf, especially the admission he made a lot of mistakes in the infamous £100 mill year.
Watching the ups and downs since 1958, wouldn't have it any other way, what a roller coaster of a club.

At least this time he has conributed to the same end result i.e. relegation without wasting 100m, obviously he is improving! Next season he might do even better by selling all our decent players, depleting our squad and achieving relegation to the 1st Division.

First of all, again, he has come onto a video forum to explain himself, also he had attempted to explain why we have waited until late on the make transfers happen. Andersens loan fee was £5M and reduced to £1M on the last day for instance.  We all know our squad was bloated so we had to reduce wages, ie players out before could go for King and Maja.  Personally I have watched King closely over recent months and he has offered absolutely nothing, is 29 and on a big salary.  He wanted an out if we get relegated so frankly that is a bullet dodged for me.  This is very good stuff from Tony Khan and I applaud him for it.

Now the negative bit, as I have said before, if he was situated in London, and 100% working as our DOF I would be happy to have him in this role, the fact those things are not possible still makes me believe we would be better off with someone else with Tony in another, probably more senior role only.

Many will not be satisfied with his answers but he has tried to explain what at lot of people have been upset about and I really can't see what more he can do.  I would like to understand why promoted teams are hit more by FFP than everyone else.  It's hard enough trying to stay up but with extra constraints it suggests the big boys protection racket is worse than I thought.

Hard to disagree with any of this.

He will destroy us on the pitch and as supporters we will end up nothing more than disillusioned fans living in dreams that are constantly destroyed. TBH I want to see Mr Magoo out of our club asap

A well measured post

Also re Anderson I think he said they wanted 30 million and then said he isnt for sale earlier in the summer window, he also alluded we have an option on him if we stay up, I didn't realise that.

I like the guy.

I remember before posts against Mike Rigg and the place used to be full of anti Ali Mac posts. Its almost certainly a thankless task.

I think, coming up via play offs and under the covid restrictions with a month to the next game, we always were going to be the main faves for the drop. To be half way through and have a fighting chance, I think we've done as well as we could have hoped.

In my opinion, we go into the 2nd half of the season better equipped than the first half. We have two very different strikers that (on their day) could make a difference.

We need some luck.

If we go down, we need to be prepared to come straight up automatically. Tosin, Tete, Kongolo, Bryan, Robinson & Hector is one hell of a pool to choose from

Mate. In 1977 I was given a contract that said I would be utterly in love for the rest of my life, even though she would always let me down and often be flirting with others (usually relegation) but every now and then she would make me the happiest man alive but whatever pain she gave me I would always be there.

We all signed the contract. Our dreams have always gone up in smoke.

Tony Khan, Mr Magoo, Tommy Trinder (and no I don't remember him), Ernie Clay, Daffy Duck....it will always be thus.

There are a lot on here that get very angry. I'm lucky as I believe I love this club as much as anyone but I enjoy the ride. If we go down, I'll be there sitting in the new stand cheering on the team that I love as much as the current one and Still Believing

Very good informative interview. I does show that he has been working tirelessly in trying to strengthen our squad. The tiresome few who moan that he is a part time D of F & doesn´t know anything about football have been called out. With modern technology it is easy to deal with anything whilst out of the office. You don´t have to go to church to be a believer.
I think we dodged the bullet with King. £5 million fee for 6 months for a player who is unlikely to start many games is not a deal we would not have wanted.

Does he mention Josh King? Haven't had the chance to look at it yet.

I signed that same contract in 1963. It's still valid. HOWEVER, I don't see TK's signiature anywhere, he cares more about wrestling than he does FFC. Comes out of his little hole every now and again with it's tough out there but we have done our best and with a COME ON FULHAM, thinks he can hoodwink us all. Sorry but not a fan of his AT ALL.

No he didn't say we have an option on him, he said we have to pay an additional sum if we stay up.

Well he hasn't hoodwinked me, I thought that was a very fair interview giving some explanation on transfers, but of course supporters who have no involvement whatsoever with transfers know best.

Agree....and this idea that TK should live in Stevenage Road to be an effective DOF is absurd. Firstly admitting mistakes made in 2018 was refreshing..Moneyball doesn't translate to soccer as easily as it does UD sports. And if we judge people by their actions the recruitment this season has been really good. He seems sincere in his connection with the club. The problem for me is some take a position, for justifiable reasons, but cannot change when faced with a changing picture

JoelH5

So if FFP is such an issue, why did we wait until Jan to loan out; Seri, MLM, Kebano, AK, Johansen? Multiple clubs were in for a number of these players and so there was interest. More so, we obviously had some money hence why we went in for Josh King. There's always excuses you can make but when someone makes mistakes every time, they start to wear thin.

The problem isn't where he lives but the fact that:

1) He doesn't have the necessary qualifications to be a DoF (at least not at ANY club not owned by his father) and has shown year after year that he's completely out of his depth. At ANY other club he wouldn't have been allowed to apologise for his mistakes two years later. He would have been sacked a long time ago.

and

2) He's only doing it part time:

Owner/football analytics @Jaguars
Owner/Director of Football/GM/Sporting Director @FulhamFC
Own @TruMediaSports
President/CEO/GM @AEW

Based on his activity in social media the men in tights seem to be his main priority.

The thing is we don't know why things do/do not happen, we just make assumptions based on supporting the club for 50 years,
