They had to pay £7m + 20% sell on clause to Burnley for Ings I believe (the current record fee for a tribunal), and as much of a little sh*t that he is, Elliot was a better player at a comparative age than Ings. Also need to look at what Liverpool were spending on players at a comparative age in Van Den Berg etc. to see they realistically should be paying several million for him, which is still fair enough considering a) it's a fair price, and b) they already force the league to pay them more money than everyone else as a "big club" so it's not like they can't afford it.

Always been an advocate of any young player moving to another club ie being poached should automatically have a sell on clause inserted.
