Everyone that is currently contracted or has an option (e.g. Fabri, KMac, and Maja) will be at Fulham's preseason and should be given a chance to prove fitness and form then, some of whom won't prove fit enough and will be moved out on loan around deadline day. The question is what positions need to be filled earlier in the window, assuming Maja is sorted by the end of the season and everyone is still here, who do we need to bring in early.

What are FFC's Weakest Positions for Next Season Pre-Season's Squad, that needed to be fixed preseason?

Lozzer

Kmac is having a kidney transplant isn't he?
I think we can safely rule him out.

Tosin is right footed and will replace Andersen and Kongolo is left this is a great centre back pairing with Hector, Mawson if fit superb backup.  Fitness being the biggest issue here.

I think he prefers playing at LCB though, in spite of being right footed.

Brede Hangeland was the same, and Harry Maguire also.

Add even one winger with quality, then we have a great preseason squad that if fit should get us to Christmas.

Whitestone

We have holes throughout the squad shown. I found it impossible to select just three options.

Craven Mad

Wingers, wingers, wingers.

We could also do with thinking about some young players to come in and replace our ageing/injury-prone CBs.

I would finally add a slightly more creative CM to the shopping list, as this season has exemplified quite how much we rely on TC.

Why do you think that Tosin prefers the left.  I know Mawson prefers the left but have never heard that Tosin prefers the left, he plays left to accommodate Andersen.

You left out the weakest position D of F.

I have a vague recollection of hearing about it when we signed him, could be mistaken though.

In any case, as with Maguire and Hangeland, there are right footed centre backs that prefer playing at LCB.

Centre forward because Mitro is leaving if Parker stays which means we have 0 strikers

If the DOF keeps the coach/team, brings in an RW, CF & LW on summer deadline day; then our weakness at DOF may not be a problem. I think the squad is almost good enough that holding on to what we have is 90% of the task.

Malcolm McDonald was brilliant at spotting, developing talent and achieving results; but as a DOF/manager he never found enough money to buy most of the talent he found, couldn't hold on to upcoming talent, and couldn't hold on to aging talent like Roger Brown. Tony Khan has advantages that make it much easier to be succesful.

We are allowed five loans with us needing five players right winger, left winger, centre forward, right centre back and attacking/central midfielder. Get them all as options to buy and we should be good.

mrmicawbers

Is Maja definitely here for pre season?Have we taken up his option?

Jimmy Hill

I'd add Aina, lemina and Maja plus x1 Cm and x1 CF. If we play with 3 at the back we don't need any wingers imo. I'd Sell Anguissa, Seri & Mitro to raise the money.

    • new striker, must have pace and decent finishing
    • pace on the wings, ideally both flanks
    • creativity in am
    • one more cb so we can sell MLM, Odoi and Ream, as Kongolo and Mawson are injury prone,  leaving just Tosin and Hector

What advantages are they, apart from being the son of his father he has shown he is neither qualified or knowledgeable or suitable enough to be a crowd steward let alone a D of F, and the position of Club Mascot has already been filled.

Tony Khan has had huge advantages over even one of our best DOFs (Malcolm McDonald), because TK can buy three players for everyone that he sells. Malcolm McDonald and Ray Hartford never once bought a player at first division prices and had to sell at least 12 players mosty of whom were arguably first division standard to pay the bills. In the end, the constant pressure to keep on bringing in more good players than leaving was too much even for them.

Malcolm McDonald and Ray Hartford needed to sell players like Jim Stannard; Richard Money, Roger Brown, Tony Gale, Kevin Lock; Ray Lewington, Sean O'Driscoll, Robert Wilson, Ray Houghton; Gordon Davies, Leroy Rosenior, Dale Tempest in order to pay the bills. Tony Khan hasn't sold anyone to pay the bills since Malone and Aluko.

If Tony Khan took over as DOF in July 1983, then I really doubt he wouldn't have been able to recruit well enough to get us promoted. If Tony Khan also had some like Ray Hatford whisping in his ear, then TK would be damn brillant. Most DOFs in the Championship are stuck trying to get free transfers and sell them to pay the bills.
