Bobby Zamora arguement...

Right here's my brief stab at trying to understand the Bobby Zamora for England debate

8 goals 4 assists 23 games.

0 International Caps.

15 goals in total this season.

before hand had on average about 3 -5 max a season.

Hodgson has been quite coy on the whole Zamora for England Bandwagon as a previous international manager is this for a reason?

When you look at Zamora's record against the top teams then in reality it's not that impressive - He's scored 1 against Utd who were in all honesty shocking and playing with 3 unspecialised defenders in Carrick, Fletcher and De Laet.

He scored a cracker against Shakhtar which ultimately sent them packing out of the Europa League and has maybe played too many matches recently , whilst also picking up an injury to be worth picking for England?

Did Roy call in a favour not to pick him due to our gruelling schedule in March?

Will Zamora be a Walcott - and randomly get picked without any previous experience for the world cup - Would that be wise?

Is  the Zamora campaign nothing more than media hype? Yes he's been great for us but recently he's seemingly lost that "I need to prove my doubters wrong" edge - or is that just me?

Would he cope with the demands of World Cup pressure and football? Would herise to the occassion or just let it all pass him by? Has he got a history of doing so?

He seems to have a knack for scoring important goals - Shakthar, Birmingham and West hams chamionship play off final goal - Is that a good thing?

And finally - does he have any strained relationships with players already in the England set up which may make sense in not picking him as he is in theory a controverisal character

Would he be too physical for World Cup compeition?

Would he be too much of an unknown entity and a risk to Englands chances of success due to his physical approach and the continental referreeing approach being a lot stricter on physical play see the Roma games?!) Or are the Roma games examples of how he can temper his approach? But did he score or set up an assist?

What about the fact that he applied and has received a T&T passport? And was called up to them last time around but was injured. I don't want any non-committed brown shirts playing with the three lions on their chest, Fulham or no Fulham. I may be the only one, but I happen to support England above all and so did Johnny Haynes.

Fulham above any team. The England team are full of corrupt, immoral 'superstars' with egos too large for our brilliant club. I have no time for England and would wish success for Fulham above England any day of the week.

Old England is dying, but I will go down with them

Just thinking, if you lot don't want to take him to SA, could we yanks borrow him? He's a damn site better then anything we have.
Besides, if he lines up against the jerk from the scum, I'd like to see who you might cheer for.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

The jerk from the scum is apparently his best mate. They go fishing together.

Really.

Fishing? Do you mean for fish?! With a rod and line and bait. Zamora's friend has got time for that? ;D

It's amazing isn't it. With him being so busy with his more athletic pursuits.

Here's a question: Has Dario Grady ever gotten a knighthood? Who on God's green earth has contributed more to English football over the last 50 years than him?
