......if this doesn't blow you away WTF would ?

Outstanding !!

Truly humbled

SP

Enjoying it. Rod Stewart was like your Grandad who's had a drink or two too many.

SG

Not in the slightest bit interested in it. Agnostic about the royal family and the various spongers and hangers on

Okay - fair enough but as a spectacle can't you see it at that level ?

Maidstone Lee

A shame she couldn't be there for it. Been a good show so far.
Stand up if you still believe!

Yes and well done the Beeb for its excellent coverage
Good family entertainment

Like SG I'm agnostic about the royal family in general but rather warmer towards the Queen.  But the concert wasn't really my scene.

I love Diana Ross but was surprised that an American headlined as the final act.

Don't they normally wheel out McCartney and Ringo, Mick and Keef, Cliff Richard etc for some massive sing-song of an old Beatles hit that gets the crowd going and sends everyone home feeling optimistic and upbeat?

So many iconic British bands over her reign who could have appeared. The acts were great but not really representative of the whole of the Queen's 70 years on the throne. I guess they were trying to be current and I know there were nods to the past such as Elton John and Duran Duran.

Anyway, it looked fantastic. There had obviously been a lot of work done on the production and lighting and it was spectacular

I was there, standing in the Putney end

Brilliant event! Can't remember seeing a more varied, innovative and professional show on such a scale ever before. Not all acts were my taste, but with so many acts, that was never going to happen.

Lighthouse

The bits I saw were spoiled by singing and dancing. The spectacular backdrop and light show were brilliant. But off key singing by old pop stars just didn't do it for me. But I am sure the acts I didn't see were very good.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I think Elton and Duran Duran may have been  Diana's favourites, so Harry and the other yin may have had something to do with it -well, Elton sang at her funeral - his revamped version of Candle in the Wind.
Possibly Charles is a fan of Diana Ross - didn't he have a thing for the 3 Degrees back in the day?

Didn't see the concert - might have watched at least some of it if I'd known it was on live. Sounded quite a spectacle.

Just proves the old adage about pleasing all the people, I thought it was brilliant

Stoneleigh Loyalist

I do not have the actual figures but that concert was shown to an amazing number of countries throughout the world.
As with the other Jubilee events this has been the biggest advertising campaign for this country that there has been for years and by the style and class's with which has been done has been almost faultless.
The only question which has to be ask is - Why Diana Ross?

I didn't watch it as I couldn't relate to it but glad for all those who could. Each to their own.

I suppose, apart from the Olympics, there really isn't a national celebration that everyone could get behind, we're just so polarised now.

Elton John and Rod Stewart..
Dearie Me.😆
Look like they from the cast of "Carry on Screaming".

I watched dit am not big on these tings but thought Rod was poor, the version of sweet Caroline has ot be one of the worst ever, why didn't they just book Neil diamond. Concert was ok nothing special for me 6/10.

The fact is you don't have to be a fan to enjoy these occasions and can look at what you like. But please let's not pretend the whole occasion doesn't bring in more money that any Government would. The idea that the money saved would go to good causes is silly. It never does and just gets lost in bureaucracy. Enjoy or don't but let's never pretend it is a waste of money. Or the Left would have spent money more wisely. They never have.

Although personally I would have some better music to enjoy that fits my taste. But oddly enough Japanese rock wasn't considered a good fit for such an occasion.

The stage and lights were brilliant but the show was a poor Ross between 50s American, and 70s UK Saturday evening family viewing... Absolutely felt it was pathetic and such a shame.

70years on the throne should have reflected each decade... And sing a long stuff not obscure second raters.

The BBC Web site reflected the crowd didn't seem to know who half the acts were.

I dutifully watched but even Rod Stewart didn't sing his best songs.... And an American headlining was odd and her selections not brilliant...

Disappointed in the extreme.
