I thought some of the chanting was very OTT, he's a 20 year old kid pretty much, and certainly was just a kid when he was with us.

Agree with Stoneleigh. OK, he is only 20 but maybe he should have paid more attention at school and he would not be so ignorant.

I agree with the OP. He was 16/17 when he left us, just a kid. What kid of that age hasn't done or said stupid things ?. He was super complimentary and spoke very articulately about his time at Fulham in a pre match interview before the first leg of the semi-final.

Agree as well. Unfortunately many tend to make up their minds quickly and stick to it, regardless.

He got called a few names at a game of football. I am sure he will cope. An apology for the comments he made when leaving would go a long way.

He's quite clearly a talent but if you are going to give it you have to take it.

Can't speak for everyone, and this is old ground but I personally wouldn't boo or abuse him from the stands. I didn't like his arrogance or comments/actions when he left so its more than 'young lad just leaves club' but since hes left, he's clearly matured, learning from some really special professionals (Him and Mo Salah train in gym everyday and hes been his mentor) and made so nice comments about us as a club. I haven't personally heard him apologise, which I think would go a long way like someone mentioned above, but his current actions speaks louder than his previous ones.

But people can do what they want I guess.

The relationship with his bank manager will not change due to the booing so he will not be too worried.
In my day a lot of us we recruited into Nation Service at that age and some had to face things worse that booing.

Booing likely spurs him on, though he has spoken well of the club recently, as said.

Booing of past players doesn't sit well with me as a Fulham fan, whatever he's done or said in the past.

i don't think any of the hate he gets is because of him leaving fulham, more due to the fact he was selling fulham shirts pretending its for charity and taking the money, then laughing at his mums racist comments against a player of a different race. Doesn't come across the nicest of people.

Not sure age has anything to do with it. When you are a spoilt, over confident kid who clearly has never been told how to behave. Then the only way you learn in the future is to be brought down and have people explain how wrong and stupid you were.

This annoying idea that because he was ONLY a teenager then he should be excused the comments he made and the behaviour. Is insulting to every young person anywhere who knows how to conduct themselves. Not all young people conduct themselves so badly.

Initially Elliott was clearly unsettled, his first five or six touches were very poor. But from memory he did not leave us under good terms (can anyone remind me what happened, did he just refuse a contract which would have meant we might have got more from Liverpool for him?_

It is what it is. It's part of football and if he doesn't like it he has an option. He is no longer our player so he is fair game as far as I'm concerned. There is an old saying that says "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" if that's the case we have done our bit to make him a better player. Good luck to him until he comes back to the Cottage.

Exactly this. I keep hearing how good he is, but he has looked bang average whenever we play them. He seems to choke against us each time. Perhaps in the face of being reminded of his bad behaviour by people he did respect.

Trying way too hard to impress to prove a point in the two recent games (that's as far back as my memory goes). Lots of snapped shots etc.

Perhaps he will score one day and run over and cup his jug ears. In the mean time though the booing seems to work.

It is part of football it's true, and he is a cocky seeming so and so, probably having a good laugh about it afterwards-
 just a shame we didn't beat them and send their entitled players and fans home with their tail between their legs.

Agree with this. He was young and behaved like an idiot, it happens. Time to move on.
