Fulham's Silas bid rejected
Fulham's £6.8m offer for Bayer Leverkusen winger Silas has been rejected, according to reports from Germany.

The Whites are expected to return with an increased offer – believed to be closer to Leverkusen's asking price of £12.69m – for the Congolese international.

Exclusive: Fulham's bid to invest in new signing thanks to cost saving on Tosin's wages set to fail
There was always going to be a chance that Tosin Adarabioyo moved on from Fulham this summer, so it was no real surprise when he was announced as a new Chelsea player.

The way in which football has evolved means that players and their agents have clawed back some of the power in terms of negotiation tactics, given that anyone with a year or less on their contracts can determine what happens next.

Ultimately, clubs can still decide to sell players of course, however, if they prefer that those players stay put, then arguably they need to match any figures that the player might be capable of acquiring by moving elsewhere.

Fulham want to sign Silas
With Tosin available on a free transfer because Fulham were never going to be able to compete financially, Chelsea were the beneficiaries, and with no transfer fee to pay either, the Blues have been able to offer the 26-year-old a significant uplift on the £40,000 p/w wages (Capology) he received from the Cottagers.

According to talkSPORT, he even turned down £100,000 per week from Newcastle, so the expectation is that he's getting more from the Blues.

With Tosin no longer Fulham's concern, they have been concentrating on securing other signings to strengthen the squad and according to CaughtOffside sources, Bundesliga outfit, Stuttgart, have rejected Fulham's €8m bid for 25-year-old Congolese attacker, Silas Katompa Mvumpa, known simply as Silas.

Fulham are planning to make a new offer for the player and it's expected to be around the €15m mark – almost double their opening gambit.

The West Londoners will, in the meantime, continue to hold talks with alternative names as it's understood that the Congolese won't prioritise leaving Stuttgart due to the fact that they will play in the Champions League next season.

If a good offer arrives, however, his opinion may change.

Fulham are also preparing to renegotiate the transfer of Chelsea's 24-year-old centre-back, Trevoh Chalobah, with the first offer for the player – a direct replacement for Tosin – expected to be on loan.

Fulham player has 3 transfer options this summer – Will decide future in 'next few days'
Club América is an option for Fulham's Raúl Jiménez in the summer window, according to W Deportes.

The striker joined Marco Silva's side last year, and he finished his debut season with seven goals from 29 games.

Jiménez's game time at Fulham this year was restricted partly due to an injury, and he's now considering where to play next season.

The Mexico international is a product of Club América's youth system, and had held talks about the possibility of returning to the club in the past.

Illian Hernández's poor form and fitness has seen Club América look for a new striker. This is where the Fulham player could fit in, considering his entourage is trying to build a return to Mexico.

The 33-year-old has held talks with Club América sporting director Santiago Baños, but it will be complicated to sign him because of the competition and Fulham's stance.

Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor have asked about the frontman, while Silva's side could decide to keep him at the club.

For now, it's unclear where Jiménez will play next season, and he has to make a decision in the 'next few days'. W Deportes say this is the 'key week' to find out whether or not he will be able to return to Club América.

Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich: Fulham make £60m transfer demand after fresh bid rejected
Bundesliga giants are determined to finally sign the Portugal midfielder after a deal collapsed on deadline day last summer

Fulham value Joao Palhinha at £60million and have rejected Bayern Munich's initial £30m bid for his services.

The Portugal midfielder is back on Bayern's radar after last summer, when a proposed £58m move fell through while he was having his medical in Bavaria after Fulham failed to find a replacement on deadline day.

Bayern have agreed personal terms with the player and this week made a fresh £30m bid, but Fulham believe his value has not changed from last summer.

In September, Palhinha signed a new contract until 2028 with an option for a further year.

The 28-year-old has spent two excellent seasons at Fulham since his £17m move from Sporting CP in 2022. In both campaigns, he has been the Premier League's top tackler.

Fulham rejected a £45m bid from West Ham last July before provisionally accepting Bayern's £58m offer in August.

The German giants expect to pay between £33.8m and £38m this time around, but Fulham are holding out for closer to £60m.

Palhinha has scored twice in 27 caps for Portugal since making his senior international debut in March 2021 and is set to play a key role for his country at Euro 2024.

In February, Fulham's vice-chairman, Tony Khan, said Palhinha's sale could be sanctioned for the right price.

Khan said: "I would want him as part of the team for as long as possible and we were very happy to extend his contract, but if an offer came along that would make sense for everyone I think that's something you have to consider with every player at the right time."

Bayern Munich want João Palhinha signing before the EUROs amid FC Barcelona and Manchester United interest
João Palhinha looking ever so likely to get his move to Bayern Munich.

Following a massive transfer collapse last summer, João Palhinha put his head down and put in another marvellous campaign for Fulham FC and finds himself on the London club's five player shortlist for player of the season.

As such, it is no surprise that the Portuguese midfielder has garnered interest from Europe's elite, including FC Barcelona and Manchester United.

Despite the wide range interest in Palhinha, it seems he still has his eyes set on German record champions, Bayern Munich.

According to Sky Sport's Bayern Munich transfer expert, Florian Plettenberg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Palhinha to Bayern is a matter of when, not if:

Despite rumours about Barcelona and Manchester United today, João Palhinha only wants to join Bayern and is waiting for an agreement between the clubs. Bayern are optimistic a deal will be done. The goal is to reach an agreement before the start of the Euros. Fee discussed: €40-45m

If all goes to plan for Die Roten, Palhinha's transfer to Bayern may be wrapped up by the end of the week, with the Euros officially underway on Friday 14 June.

Bayern's opening offer of €35m including add-ons was rejected by the Cottagers, but an agreement in the range of €40-€45m is expected to be reached, according to Fabrizio Romano.

While Max Eberl would like to wrap up the 28-year-old's transfer as swiftly as possible, Palhinha's commitment to Bayern certainly affords the club extra time to negotiate.

All in all, knocking off €20m off his January asking price of €65m is looking like the early win that Eberl and the rest of the Bayern board desperately need after a disastrous season.

Burnley dealt transfer blow in pursuit of 25-year-old
Burnley's hopes of signing Hoffenheim winger Jacob Bruun Larsen have been 'dashed' following their relegation with Fulham now moving in, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

Burnley announced on their retained list that they were in 'conversations' over keeping hold of the attacker on a permanent basis. However, it now appears unlikely that he will be heading back to Turf Moor, especially following Vincent Kompany's surprise exit to Bayern Munich.

Bruun Larsen, 25, joined the Clarets on loan at the end of July last year to bolster their attacking department after they were relegated from the Football League. He went on to score seven goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Lancashire outfit, six of which came in the league.

In this latest update regarding his situation by journalist Nixon on his Patreon page, Fulham have now swooped in as they look to throw the forward a Premier League lifeline.

Burnley chances of landing loan star dashed
Bringing back Bruun Larsen was always going to be a tall order for Burnley after they slipped out of the top flight along with Luton Town and Sheffield United.

He was a shining light for the Clarets during a tough past campaign and deserves a switch to Craven Cottage.

The Denmark international, who has six caps under his belt so far in his career, has been named in his country's squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 campaign in Germany. They are in England's group along with Serbia and Slovenia.

Bruun Larsen has been on the books of parent club Hoffenheim since 2020 and has played 57 matches for the Bundesliga outfit, finding the net on six occasions. He has also been shipped out on loan to Anderlecht in the past.

He started out at Lyngby before Borussia Dortmund snapped him up as a teenager. He then went on to play 41 matches for the German giants as a youngster, as well as having a temporary stint away at Stuttgart to get some experience under his belt.

What next for Burnley?
Burnley have the chance to bolster their ranks once the transfer window opens as they look to gain an immediate promotion next term.

With Fulham targeting Bruun Larsen, they may have to start looking for possible winger alternatives.

Their immediate focus will be on finding the right replacement for Kompany though. Craig Bellamy is currently in interim charge and the Clarets will want to make sure they bring in the correct candidate.

Fulham man appears to pour cold water on transfer – Not going anywhere this summer
Fulham striker Raúl Jiménez has hinted he is not yet ready to leave the club and return to Mexico, despite reports suggesting a bid may be on the way for him.

The forward has been speaking to Claro Sports, relayed by Record, about his immediate future and why it is likely to be with Fulham.

Jiménez has been linked with a return to his native Mexico for months after falling down the pecking order at Craven Cottage thanks to the emergence of Rodrigo Muniz.

Club América, his former team, have long been credited with an interest in having him back and several reports in Mexico have made it clear that Jiménez is now open to the idea of ending his career in Europe and returning home.

He has now admitted that is a possibility for him, but not this summer, as he wants to see out the remainder of his contract with Fulham first.

"It is something that has crossed my mind (returning to Liga MX). I have always said that if I return to Mexican soccer, it would be to América, I don't see myself returning to any other team.," he said.
"It's not to close the doors on me in other places, but I have an Americanist background and that's where I'm from.

"Right now, I see myself here in Europe for as long as possible, I have a minimum contract for another two more years here. I want to fulfil them and then see.

"If I were to retire here in Europe it would also be something very cool, to finish a career and do it in the best way, but I am not closing the doors of returning to Mexico."

That appears to have ended any speculation for the time being, with journalist Carlos Ponce de Leon also adding to that by reporting that he's contacted the club to ask about the rumours and been told they are false and no move for the Fulham man is happening.

Why that is the case isn't made clear but Claro Sports, via Heraldo, report that it is likely to do with the cost of the striker.

They say that while Jiménez would have to accept a back up role at Club America, they would also need to pay around $3-5m MDE for him, a figure considered a 'millionaire' price, particularly for someone who would be a substitute.

They could afford that figure, but it is high and will make them think twice, as will Jiménez's latest comments on the subject.

What £60m star has already said about Fulham summer transfer
The Fulham star was the centre of a transfer debacle last summer and Bayern Munich are knocking once again.

Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha has once again been linked with a summer exit from Craven Cottage with serious interest coming from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The German outfit were close to signing the ball-winner for £58 million last year but that summer move fell through on Deadline Day as the Premier League side failed to find a suitable replacement on time.

Palhinha refused to let the failed move define his season and turned in an impressive campaign in the Premier League. The Portuguese international even put pen to paper on a new deal at the Cottage last September, extending his contract to 2028 with a club option for another year.

However, Bayern Munich are once again being credited with serious transfer interest in the player this summer. It had emerged that the European club made a £30 million bid for Palhinha having agreed personal terms this week.

The Evening Standard now reports that the fee will need to be substantially more for Fulham to consider green lighting a transfer move for the defensive midfielder. The outlet claims that the Cottagers have slapped a £60 million price tag on the 28-year-old, who made 39 appearances in all competitions last season. The club does not feel his value has deteriorated.

In February, Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan did hint that Palhinha's new deal wouldn't mean that a summer exit was off the cards, saying that "if an offer came along that would make sense for everyone I think that's something you have to consider".

As Fulham supporters wait to see what comes from renewed Bayern Munich interest, Palhinha had previously hinted at what his stance may be on a summer move. In May, the midfielder told Flashscore: "At the moment, today, the likelihood is I stay at Fulham, but we'll see what happens. I have immense respect for the Fulham organisation, people know what a professional I am and that's the example I want to pass on to the many kids who follow me and look up to me."

Speaking specifically on Bayern Munich interest, he added: "I don't know if it's a closed door or not, everything in football is very uncertain.

"I can't say it's a closed or open door. I can't put myself in a position like that either. Today I want to focus more on the European Championships because that's the goal, to leave a good impression at the Euros, and then everything else will follow.

"People already know me. The fact that I'm in the Premier League means I'm in a very big shop window, probably the biggest of them all. The Euros is also a showcase that everyone is following all over the world."

The 2023/24 loan round-up

With relegations, European qualifications and trophy wins, our loanees have seen the lot this season...

George Wickens

Our promising keeper spent the final few months of the season in the Highlands at Ross County. Wickens started very promisingly, saving a penalty at Celtic Park before setting a Scottish Premier League record for number of saves in a single game at Ibrox. When County's number one, the aptly named Ross Laidlaw, returned from injury in mid-April, Wickens's game time was cut short. Nevertheless, 13 first team appearances in Scotland's top division is valuable experience to take forward.

Luca Ashby-Hammond

After Luca's brother Taye impressed at Stevenage in 2022/23, earning a permanent move to the club last summer, Luca would have wanted this to be his breakthrough year in senior men's football. The goalkeeper started the year on loan at Crawley, making just 11 appearances in all competitions. Then in January, he was recalled and sent to Notts County, where he made a further 11 outings. Those 22 games in total yielded just four clean sheets, but saw Ashby-Hammond concede 39 times. Safe to say he hasn't quite made the impression he'd have wanted this year.

Terence Kongolo

Not to go full Cam Ramsey, but there were clear positives and negatives to Kongolo's season. His 15 appearances for Rapid Vienna was the joint most games he's played in a season in half a decade. However, that figure could have been even higher had he not been sent off a bonkers three times in one season. Rapid Vienna also made the Austrian Cup final, but were unfortunately beaten by Sturm Graz, a game in which Kongolo played the last 20 minutes of. Their fourth-placed finish also guaranteed Europa League football, and with Kongolo now out of contract, there may be a new home for him there in the Austrian capital.

Ibane Bowat

Another defender who has had a good season abroad in Austria was Ibane Bowat at Hartberg. The Scot was a vital cog in his side finishing fifth in the Austrian Bundesliga, securing the club Conference League football next season. The Scottish centre-back played 34 times across all competitions, highlighting his importance to the side. Bowat also played multiple times for Scotland's U21 side during the season, another indicator of the impressive form he showed out on loan.

Luciano D'Auria Henry

After joining Cheltenham Town, D'Auria Henry was one of six loanees that the club sent back to their parent clubs in the January window. The wing back started the season brightly, featuring in three of Cheltenham's first few games of the League One season, but never made a league matchday squad again after starting against Peterborough in mid-September.

Kevin Mbabu

It's fair to say Mbabu's reputation had been dented from a difficult first season with Fulham in the Premier League. Going to Augsburg for a season was a risk, a team with a small budget that frequently battles just to survive the drop in the Bundesliga in recent years. However, the risk paid off. Mbabu was a key player in a strong Augsburg season, which had it not been for a run of five defeats to end the season, could have seen Augsburg qualifying for Europe, finishing just three points off Heidenheim, who did qualify. More than 2,000 Bundesliga minutes, including a couple of assists and clean sheets, it's been a productive year for the Swiss right-back.

Tyrese Francois

When the Australian midfielder joined Danish Superliga side Vejle BK in the January window, his new side were in serious danger at the bottom of the league, soon to be going into the league's second phase, where Velje would compete in the 'relegation round'. However, Francois seriously impressed in the Danish side's midfield, coinciding with their upturn in form in the final stages of the season. Francois notched up two assists at the back-end of the season, helping his side to a run of four consecutive victories, securing the club's top flight status. Like Kongolo, Francois is out of contract and may have found a new home abroad.

Chris Donnell

Donnell was another that went out on loan in the January transfer window, heading to Scottish Championship side Airdrieonians. Game time was limited for the Australian midfielder, but his side were successful nonetheless. Donnell made a number of cameos as Airdrie finished in the league's play-off positions, eventually losing out to Partick Thistle. The highlight of Donnell's time in Scotland was undoubtedly in the Scottish Challenge Cup, coming off the bench in both the semi final victory over Raith and the final against Welsh side TNS, where Airdrie won 2-1 to take the trophy.

Kieron Bowie

Following a successful first season at Northampton Town, helping them to promotion from League Two, Bowie returned for a second spell this year in League One. The versatile Scottish forward continued to impress at Northampton, with 15 goal contributions in 44 league appearances in the 2023/24 season. Bowie, like Bowat, featured frequently for the Scottish U21s too, scoring three times in their European Championship qualifying campaign.

Martial Godo

Godo started the season really strongly for Wigan, causing havoc for League One defences and earning praise for a promising televised performance in the FA Cup against Manchester United. However, after an ankle injury in December, the forward struggled to recapture his early season form, scoring just once in 2024. Despite that, eight goal contributions and 34 League One appearances in a first senior loan is a positive learning curve for Godo, who was at Margate just a couple of seasons ago.

Jay Stansfield

Definitely mixed feelings for Jay Stansfield after the 2023/24 season. On a club level, Stanno was part of a Birmingham side that went from early play-off contention under John Eustace, to eventual relegation thanks to the mismanagement of the owners and Wayne Rooney. However, the fact that Stansfield cleaned up at the club's end of season awards, speaks to the season he had individually. Stansfield remains part of the England youth setup and has been told he will be part of Silva's first-team squad next season. Some 13 goal contributions for a relegated side is a brilliant effort for the young forward.

Terry Ablade

Ablade's season long loan spell at Carlisle United, newly promoted to League One, certainly did not go to plan. Ablade featured in 16 of Carlisle's opening 17 competitive fixtures across League One, the FA Cup and the EFL Trophy. However, those games resulted in a big fat zero goals for the Finnish forward. Ablade then suffered a serious injury in November time, which saw his season cut short before it had even reached the Christmas period.

Oliver Sanderson

Despite playing for two sides that eventually experienced relegation, Sanderson's season was one of promise and continuous improvement. After scoring nine times for Oxford City in the National League, Sanderson was recalled and sent out to Sutton United, who were in a relegation battle in League Two. Sanderson continued to impress at a higher level, and while Sutton were eventually relegated into non-league, the young English striker added another four goals to his season's tally, including two in a huge away win at Salford late in the season.

Carlos Vinicius

Despite featuring mainly in five-minute cameos most weeks for Galatasaray after signing for the Turkish giants in the January window, Vini's loan spell was one of much success. Galatasaray and Vinicius's first trophy came in early April, when his side were awarded a 3-0 win in the Super Cup following bizarre scenes in which Fenerbache left the field of play in protest against the Turkish football authorities. Gala and Vini would go onto win the league title two, beating great rivals Fenerbache to the title by just three points, despite eclipsing the 100 point mark themselves. Vini's final minute winner in a 4-3 win away to Kasimpasa was a key moment in that run to the league title.

Raul not ready to leave Fulham
Raul Jimenez has again insisted that he wants to stay at Fulham – despite reports linking him with a move back to Mexico or Turkey.

The experienced striker has been linked with a return to his homeland after dropping down Marco Silva's pecking order following Rodrigo Muniz's remarkable rise to first choice centre forward during the second half of last season, but the former Wolves forward has told Claro Sports that he is currently only concentrating on his future at Craven Cottage.

"[Returning home] is something that has crossed my mind. I have always said that if I return to Mexican soccer, it would be to América, I don't see myself returning to any other team. It's not to close the doors on other places, but I have an Americanist background and that's where I'm from.

Jimenez scored seven goals in 31 games during an injury-hit first season at Fulham – finishing the season with a brace in a 4-2 win at relegated Luton Town.

Fulham in talks and £15m star likened to Aubameyang is keen on Cottagers move
Fulham are favourites to secure the signature of £15 million-rated Stuttgart forward Silas Katompa Mvumpa with the Bundesliga flyer keen on a move to the Premier League outfit.

HITC understands that, after returning for a long-time transfer target, Marco Silva's side are well placed to get a deal done at last.

Silas, who helped Stuttgart finish second in the Bundesliga and ahead of Bayern Munich in 2023/24, has been on Fulham's radar for around 12 months.

In fact, The Cottagers submitted an offer in January. Albeit one that did not go down particularly well at the Mercedes Benz arena, Stuttgart quick to dismiss an approach that would have seen Silas move to West London on loan with a £13 million purchase clause in his contract.

"I was sitting in Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle's office on deadline day when it was reported that Fulham had made an offer for forward Silas," Bild reporter Christian Falk told Caught Offside after the close of the winter window.

"The Stuttgart boss could only laugh and shake his head at this news."

Stuttgart star Silas keen on Fulham move
Five months on, Fulham are once again hot on Silas' heels. HITC understands that talks between The Cottagers and the jet-heeled attacker are underway again.

Stuttgart want £15 million with two years left on Silas' contract. The spending power of the Premier League outfit, meanwhile, means Fulham are viewed as favourites as things stand ahead of Spanish side Villarreal and the perennial overachivers of French football; an RC Lens outfit who have just hired Will Still as Franck Haise's replacement.

Silas, meanwhile, is keen on a move to the English capital.

While not a regular starter for Stuttgart in 2023/24, Silas still ended the campaign with seven goals and six assists in all competitions. His searing pace and excellent ball-carrying ability – the DR Congo international has quite the collection of mazy solo efforts – Silas was often used as a super sub by VFB coach Sebastian Hoeness.

Fulham already have a rapid-fire winger with similar strenghts in Adama Traore, though Silas is a far more consistent goal threat. The 25-year-old broke double figures in the Bundesliga back in 2020/21, and is slowly rediscovering that form again after a long spell on the sidelines with a ruptured ACL.

Likened to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
ven Mislintat, Stuttgart's former director of football, sees similarities between Silas and his one-time Borussia Dortmund talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

"There are some differences between them, of course, but also many, many similar things," Mislintat told the Bundesliga website.

"(Aubameyang) learned quite a lot also from Jurgen Klopp in working defensively. If (forwards) adopt this and they are able to do this, they will become big, big stars in football with their qualities and mindsets. And this is what Silas did as well.

"Auba is more of a killer but, to be honest, he hadn't (been a) hit at the age of 19 or 20 like Silas. Silas has become better and better and improved quite a lot.

"He is quieter (than Aubameyang) but very focused. He listens, he learns a lot. He knows exactly what he is. He's aggressive. He is a winner."

Silas, who prefers to play on the right, could offset the potential departure of Bobby DeCordova-Reid. The utility man will be a free-agent this summer and has caught the attention of Everton.

Hadn't seen this commentary previously. Even if we do lose Palhinha this summer and there's mischief from Romano and/or Palhinha's brother/agent, it is very hard to dislike Joao, isn't it?

Fulham have held talks with 'special' Liverpool target's agents about replacing Joao Palhinha
Fulham have held talks with a midfielder who was previously on Liverpool's radar as the Cottagers search for a potential Joao Palhinha replacement.

Marco Silva looks set to lose his main man in the middle of the park with Bayern Munich once again aiming to snap up Joao Palhinha after missing out last summer.

TBR Football understands that Fulham have spoken with the agents of Andre as they consider making a fresh move for the Brazilian midfielder.

Andre has attracted plenty of interest in the Premier League, with Liverpool heavily linked with a move last year.

Fulham have previously looked closely at Andre and in the last 12 months have come close to signing him.

Fulham hold talks with Andre's agents
Now with Joao Palhinha heading out of Craven Cottage – Fulham are assessing a number of midfielders who they could look to bring in. The likes of Benfica's Florentino Luis and Sporting Lisbon's Martin Hjulmand are two on their radar.

However, Andre is a player they admire and is now back under consideration, but TBR is told that Fulham are not alone in showing an interest with the likes of Brentford and Southampton also linked to the player – who Liverpool looked closely at last year.

Our sources believe Monaco, Atalanta, Stuttgart and Porto are amongst the European sides also keen on the 22-year-old.

Andre could replace Palhinha at Fulham
With Palhinha's exit looking likelier by the day, Andre would be an ideal replacement for the Portuguese midfielder.

The 22-year-old has already been linked with moves to a host of top Premier League sides, including Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Despite missing out on Brazil's Copa America 2024 squad, Andre has earned rave reviews after impressing for Fluminense.

The 'special' midfielder also played a key role for the Brazilian outfit when they scooped the Copa Libertadores in 2023.

Craven Cottage is still the top destination for English football

Craven Cottage stands as a testament to the rich history and enduring spirit of Fulham FC. Established in 1896, this iconic stadium has witnessed countless memorable moments, from thrilling victories to heart-wrenching defeats. Its charming and traditional design, with the Johnny Haynes Stand and the famous Cottage itself, provides an old-world charm that's rare in modern football grounds.

Craven Cottage is more than just a stadium; it's a symbol of Fulham's heritage. The ground has hosted numerous legendary matches and welcomed some of football's greatest players. Its intimate atmosphere allows fans to feel closer to the action, creating a unique and passionate matchday experience. Whether it's the roar of the crowd or the picturesque riverside location, Craven Cottage continues to be a beloved venue.

The origins of Fulham FC at Craven Cottage

Fulham's journey began in 1879, but it wasn't until 1896 that the club found its permanent home at Craven Cottage. Situated on the site of a former royal hunting lodge, the stadium's initial development was modest, with just a single stand for spectators. The choice of this location was ideal, offering a picturesque setting alongside the River Thames and close to the club's original base.

As the club settled into the Cottage, the early years saw a mix of highs and lows. Fulham quickly became a prominent team in London, drawing local supporters and establishing rivalries with nearby clubs. The charm of the stadium with its classic architecture and intimate atmosphere have created a strong connection between the team and its fans. These formative years laid the groundwork for Fulham's enduring presence in English football, with Craven Cottage becoming an integral part of the club's identity. You can watch the Whites live with Fulham FC tickets and experience them for yourself by finding affordable tickets, keeping an eye on prices, and securing tickets early to make sure you don't miss out on the action.

Iconic matches that shaped Fulham's legacy

Craven Cottage has been the backdrop for numerous iconic matches that have etched themselves into Fulham's storied history. The thrilling Europa League campaign of 2009/10 brought a new level of excitement to Craven Cottage. Fulham's incredible comeback against Juventus in the round of 16 is often cited as one of the greatest matches in the club's history. Overturning a 3-1 first-leg deficit with a 4-1 victory at home, Fulham progressed to the quarter-finals, cementing the stadium's reputation as a fortress. These historic matches highlight the magic of Craven Cottage and the unwavering support of Fulham's passionate fan base.

Memorable players and their historic performances

Craven Cottage has seen many football legends grace its pitch, delivering performances that have become part of Fulham's rich tapestry. Players like Johnny Haynes left an indelible mark with his exceptional skill and vision. Haynes's career, spanning three decades from the 1950s to the 1970s, saw him become the first footballer to earn £100 a week, and his legacy is immortalised by the stand named in his honour.

More recently, the likes of Clint Dempsey and Dimitar Berbatov have dazzled the Craven Cottage faithful with their flair and goal scoring prowess. Dempsey's last-minute winner against Juventus and Berbatov's sublime touches and crucial goals in the Premier League are fondly remembered. The stadium continues to be a stage where players can achieve greatness and create unforgettable memories for the supporters. There will be more iconic moments, matches, and performances this season at the Cottage.

The evolution of Craven Cottage over the decades

Craven Cottage has undergone numerous transformations since its opening in 1896. The original wooden stands were replaced with more modern structures as the club grew in popularity. In 1905, the Archibald Leitch-designed Stevenage Road Stand was completed, now known as the Johnny Haynes stand, which remains a distinctive feature of the ground.

Significant renovations occurred in the 1980s and 1990s to meet safety standards and increase capacity. The Riverside Stand, originally built in 1972 before its recent rennovation, provided stunning views of the Thames and added to the stadium's unique charm. Despite these changes, the club has always maintained the traditional feel of Craven Cottage, blending modern facilities with historical elements to preserve its character.

Unforgettable fan experiences at the Cottage

The atmosphere at Craven Cottage is something every football fan should experience. Its intimate setting allows supporters to feel close to the action, creating a vibrant and electric environment on matchdays. Fans have witnessed incredible moments, from dramatic last-minute goals to epic comebacks, all contributing to the stadium's legendary status.

Matchday at Craven Cottage is more than just the game itself. The journey to the stadium, strolling through Bishop's Park, and soaking in the views along the River Thames add to the overall experience. The sense of community among Fulham supporters is palpable, making it a welcoming and inclusive place for fans of all ages. These elements combine to make every visit to Craven Cottage a memorable occasion.

What's next for Craven Cottage?

Craven Cottage's future looks as promising as Fulham FC's summer transfer targets, as the club and stadium continues to build on its rich heritage while embracing modern advancements.

As Fulham FC aims to establish itself firmly in the Premier League, the improvements at Craven Cottage will play a crucial role. The blend of historical charm and modern facilities will continue to attract fans, making it an enduring symbol of the club's legacy and ambitions. Whether you're a long-time supporter or a new fan, the evolving Craven Cottage offers an exciting and welcoming home for everyone who loves the beautiful game.

Key Fulham Trio Now Attracting Interest
Fulham are facing a fight to keep hold of some of their key stars.

Fulham may face challenges keeping key players Leno, Pereira, and Robinson due to interest from various clubs worldwide.
Marco Silva's squad aims to improve on their 13th place finish, emphasizing the importance of retaining their standout players.
Robinson attracts Premier League interest from clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea, highlighting his value as a left-back option.

Fulham are preparing for clubs to test their resolve over Bernd Leno, Andreas Pereira and Antontee Robinson, according to GMS sources, as the trio of stars are likely to be subject to interest from a host of clubs across the summer months.

The side from Craven Cottage, who are managed by Marco Silva, ended 2023/24 in 13th place but often found themselves competing for a top-half finish. For the west Londoners, bettering their position in the table next term will be at the top of their agenda.

A litany of their gems - including the aforementioned trio - were their standout players in the most recent season and keeping hold of them will be paramount to how they fare in the Premier League next campaign - but given they are attracting interest from all corners of the globe, that may not be possible.

Bernd Leno Targeted by Saudi Arabian Clubs
Played 38 Premier League games for Fulham in 2023/24

As is the ever-growing nature of Middle Eastern football, this summer is bound to be paramount in the landscape of football across the globe - from European behemoths to clubs in Saudi Arabia, who have shown their willingness to spend big across the trading periods.

Fulham's Leno, who played all 38 Premier League games for the club in 2023/24, is one of the latest stars to be targeted by the Middle East-based revolution. The 32-year-old glovesman's contract expires in the summer of 2027.

A few sides in their top tier, the Saudi Pro League, are looking for a top-level, proven goalkeepers for next season and Leno fits that bill perfectly, having played 175 times in the English top flight for both Fulham and Arsenal.

According to GMS sources, Fulham's hand may be forced to 'fight for more talent' and, in layman's terms, a replacement for Leno in the coming months thanks to the prospect of losing the German shot stopper.

Antonee Robinson and Andreas Pereira Also Eyed by Clubs
Manchester United and Chelsea interested in the former

From an outfield point of view, both Robinson and Pereira are subject to an array of interest after brilliant seasons at Craven Cottage. Around the club, there is a growing concern over the future of Robinson. Despite the left-back being level-headed about his future, per The Athletic, there are teams in the Premier League that could look to sign the sought-after gem.

Manchester United and Chelsea, now confirmed by GMS sources, are interested in the United States international this summer as they look to alleviate their own left-back issues with both Luke Shaw and Ben Chiwell - as evidenced by the statistics above - struggling for a straight run of games in 2023/24.

Those that are interested in his signature view him as a strong option for a) squad depth and b) competition for their current options. Not only Robinson, but their creative driving force, Pereira, also has a few clubs keeping tabs on his situation.

Formerly of the Red Devils, the Brazilian attacking midfielder - who played in all but one league outings in the season just gone - is being linked with Aston Villa. The chance to play in the Champions League could entice the 28-year-old to make the switch from London to the Midlands.

All statistics per WhoScored - correct as of 11/06/2024

Fulham eyeing Florentino Luis as Joao Palhinha replacement
Fulham are reportedly considering a move for Florentino Luis as a replacement for Bayern Munich-linked Joao Palhinha.

According to Give Me Sport, Fulham could consider Florentino Luis as a potential replacement for Joao Palhinha. Marco Silva feels the need to bring a replacement for the Portuguese international, who is continuing to inch closer to a switch to Bayern Munich.

Florentino Luis on Fulham's radar
Fulham are called into action to bring in a new midfielder as Joao Palhinha has seen his previous links to Bayern Munich rekindled and could be bound for Germany soon. The Euros might delay any imminent transfer to the Allianz Arena. However, he is sure to leave the Cottagers in this window, with many more clubs chasing the midfielder's signature.

While Palhinha had a host of clubs chasing, Fabrizio Romano insists Bayern Munich are not scared and have already reached an agreement on personal terms. Ahead of the Portuguese international's impending departure, Marco Silva may have to find a suitable replacement for his hard-tackling midfield enforcer, as Florentino Luis is now linked with a move.

The Benfica midfielder boasts a style and tough-tackling profile similar to Palhinha's, as he might be considered the ideal replacement for Marco Silva. Now, things will depend on the Portuguese club's asking price, as they tend to have a good enough release cl

The 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder has been a major part of Benfica's success in recent years, although the team collectively had a lousy season last time out. Should an opportunity arrive to join a Premier League side, Luis might consider the chance, even if it is Fulham and not some other big sides.

Fulham face competition for Luis
Fulham may not have a clear path towards signing Luis ahead of the summer, as there are some other sides keen. Everton failed with a bid in January and could rekindle their interest should they end up losing Amadou Onana in the summer.

The same goes for Aston Villa, who had previously shown an interest and could re-enter the conversation should they lose their enforcer Douglas Luiz, who remains linked with Juventus as of today. Hence, Fulham will have to act swiftly in the market to secure the 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder before some of their English counterparts make their presence felt in the race.

Is Bayern Munich making a mistake with João Palhinha?
Is it still worth getting the Fulham defensive midfielder?

By all accounts, Fulham destroyer João Palhinha would have made an excellent addition to Bayern Munich's 2023/24 squad. The Portuguese international fit what former head coach Thomas Tuchel wanted at the time, and, well, the Bavarians' results last year without him speak for themselves.

It did not work out, though, and now Bayern is reportedly going back for Palhinha. However, not everyone thinks it is a good idea. Stefan Bienkowski, a journalist on the Bundesliga beat, makes his case:

Hot take: Bayern Munich definitely shouldn't be spending ~€50m on a central midfielder that turns 29 in July. That midfield needs a huge rebuild - and Joao Palhinha is a very good player - but this is just the same short-term panic buying we saw last summer and the year before.

Is Stefan right? Some points to consider:

When Tuchel first seemed to want Palhinha, Aleksandar Pavlović had not emerged yet.
Bayern's midfield age profile is now: Joshua Kimmich (29), Leon Goretzka (29), Konrad Laimer (27), Pavlović (20)
Could Kimmich's Bayern future be fixed at right-back? That might lead the German international to test the transfer waters, perhaps with a move to Manchester City or Arsenal FC — vacating the No. 6 position as well as creating a need at right-back.
Bayern has a few veterans on big salaries who are proving challenging to unload. Can Palhinha be a long-term solution, or one more in that list as Bayern searches for its next likely expensive DM in a few transfer windows' time?

On the other hand, perhaps this new profile is exactly the move Bayern needs to unlock its potential — and to take down Bayer Leverkusen next season.

How fast and how completely Bayern remakes its engine room in central midfield will be one of the big decisions for next coach Vincent Kompany. Given how many pieces it could set into motion, it could be the biggest call of the summer window.
