Fulham 'make decision' over Premier League transfer target after bid rejected
Manchester United's firm stance may have cost them a sale as Fulham search for a new midfielder.

Fulham are said to have made a decision over their pursuit of Manchester United star Scott McTominay. The Cottagers enjoyed a strong end to last season, but preparations for the new season have been made more tricky by the departure of star midfielder Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.

Marco Silva has been able to do some good business, bringing in Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal on a big-money deal, while Jorge Cuenca has arrived from Chelsea and Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham. But the Cottagers still have work to do, with key gaps to fill in the centre of midfield and at centre-back.

In midfield, United star Scott McTominay was identified as a target, with the Red Devils seemingly willing to sell for the right price. The Scot was vital for the Red Devils last season, but while Erik ten Hag may end up keeping him, it seems that in an ideal world, he would prefer to upgrade.

Fulham reportedly offered £23million to sign McTominay this summer, but they saw their offer rejected. United are said to want as much as £30million to agree a sale, and the Cottagers are not going to stretch to such a high fee.

Sky Sports are now saying Fulham have walked away from a deal, deciding to pursue other targets. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, explained: "As it stands, Fulham not expected to return with improved offer for Manchester United's Scott McTominay. Two bids rejected – latest worth £20m. Still gap in valuation. Fulham's focus on other targets. Fluminense's Andre is a player they've long standing interest in."

Fulham boss Silva said of the club's transfer ambitions at the end of last season: "Two great seasons, but we cannot stand still. We have to move on, if you want to be more competitive, to be always better as a team. On and off the pitch, we have to do things different. We have to be more ambitious as well, in the market for example, to get the best deals we can for the club."

The Cottagers will now need to look elsewhere, while McTominay's situation will remain uncertain. The Scot may get reduced appearances this season, and the prospect of that could yet see him push for a move late in the window.

Emile Smith Rowe shares how he really feels about leaving Arsenal to join Fulham
Emile Smith Rowe is no longer an Arsenal player.

After such a long association with the Gunners, the midfielder has left the club to join Fulham in a £34m deal.

This was an emotional move for many Arsenal supporters as Smith Rowe was a true fan favourite after coming through the club's academy.

Speaking to Hayters TV, Smith Rowe has been discussing his move from Arsenal to Fulham, and he made an interesting admission.

Indeed, Smith Rowe says while he's happy at Fulham, he actually felt sad to leave Arsenal to head to Craven Cottage.

Emile Smith Rowe felt sad to leave Arsenal
The midfielder spoke about his move to Fulham.

"It was definitely an emotional move. Like you said, I had been at Arsenal for so long, so it was definitely a sad moment, but I'm in a really good place at the moment, and I'm really happy. The players and the staff have taken me in so well and everyone is giving me confidence."

Emile Smith Rowe wanted to stay at Arsenal
Emile Smith Rowe had to leave Arsenal for the good of his career, but in an ideal world, he'd have stayed with the Gunners forever.

Make no mistake about it, Smith Rowe absolutely loves Arsenal.

The midfielder stated a few years ago that he'd love to spend his entire career in north London.

"As an Arsenal fan, it would be a dream to become an Arsenal legend. I want to win trophies with the team," Smith Rowe said.

"I could see myself being a one-club man if everything works out."

Unfortunately, due to fitness issues and Arsenal's drastic improvement in recent years, things didn't quite work out for Smith Rowe at the Emirates, but now, at Fulham, he has the chance to write an exciting new chapter in his career.

Fingers crossed Smith Rowe can get back on track in west London.

Move to Everton or Fulham completely dismissed – Not even given a chance
Report emerged last mont of Bayer Leverkusen interest in former Joel Matip, who departed Liverpool when his contract expired at the end of June.

More recently, Everton and Fulham have been linked with moves for the free agent, but the German media are having none of that.

Kicker report the German champions are still an option for the defender, and there's an insistence he simply isn't interested in the Premier League interest and therefore English clubs have no chance of signing him.

Neither of Everton or Fulham can offer Champions League football and that is another reason why Leverkusen are a leading candidate.

There's the chance Matip doesn't want to play for a rival of Liverpool, or perhaps he feels the Bundesliga would suit him better at this stage of his career.

Bayer Leverkusen moving for him depends on the future of Jonathan Tah, who has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich. His exit would make the signing of Matip a priority.

Fulham make Scott McTominay decision after Man Utd reject bid

Fulham have backed away from Scott McTominay pursuit after seeing £20m bid rejected
Man Utd value the Scotland international at £30m
Midfielder scored a number of important goals last season

Fulham have backed away from their pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay after having a £20m bid rejected.

The Scotland international scored seven Premier League goals last season, with a number of strikes bailing the Red Devils out of trouble. He also started the FA Cup final, helping his side to a 2-1 victory over local rivals Manchester City at Wembley.

However, he has attracted interest from a variety of clubs during the summer transfer window. Turkish giants Galatasaray have previously made their admiration of the 27-year-old known, while Fulham have now made two bids as they look to strengthen in the middle of the park following the exit of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.

The Cottagers are set to halt their interest in McTominay, however, after seeing their latest offer of £20m turned down, according to The Times. United value the Scot, who has made 252 appearances for the club in all competitions since his debut in 2017, at £30m.

The 20-time English champions currently have the likes of Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and Christian Eriksen available as central midfield options and have been linked with some similar players during the summer.

United had been in talks with Paris Saint-Germain, who recently splashed out €70m for Portuguese starlet Joao Neves, to sign Uruguay international Manuel Ugarte. However, a lofty asking price has seen the Premier League outfit back away from negotiations and pursue other targets instead.

Manager Erik ten Hag is still interested in a double deal for Bayern defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, with the Bundesliga club's sporting director recently giving a cryptic update on the saga.

United have finished their tour of the United States, beating Real Betis in between losses to English foes Arsenal and Liverpool, and are next in action on Saturday when they take on Man City in the Community Shield.

Tim Ream: USMNT Star Strengthens Charlotte FC's Backline
Charlotte FC is reinforcing an already elite MLS defense with U.S. Men's National Team staple, Tim Ream. The Fulham veteran arrives with a plethora of experience, but still has much to offer on the pitch as The Crown continues their push for playoffs.

A Seasoned Veteran
The American defender brings a wealth of experience to Charlotte FC both at club and international level. Most recently he helped Fulham get promoted to the Premier League in 2022, where he notched 51 matches in the Premier League, serving as the team's captain in many of those. That's just a fraction of his total 506 club appearances and 43,504 minutes across MLS, the English Championship, and the Premier League.

He began his European career in 2012 when he joined Bolton Wanderers, brought in to replace Gary Cahill. After the 2013/14 season, Ream's versatility and strong performances at center back, left back, and even as a defensive midfielder earned him the title of fans' player of the year. He won this accolade again in the following season.

In 2015, Ream was transferred to Fulham, where he remained for nearly a decade. During his ten years with the club, he played a crucial role in helping Fulham achieve promotion to the Premier League twice and was named to the PFA Team of the Year for the 2021/22 season.

His international experience is equally impressive, having earned 61 caps for the United States Men's National Team. He's participated in several major tournaments, including winning two Concacaf Nations Leagues and participating in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, where the stakes are the highest.

His leadership qualities, both on and off the field, will be invaluable to a relatively young squad. Ream's experience will not only help in organizing the defense but also in mentoring younger players, fostering a culture of professionalism and resilience within the team. He adds to an already stellar leadership core of team captain Ashley Westwood and Kristijan Kahlina.

"For me it's bringing experience, setting a standard, and bringing experience from the 12 years in England and experience with the national team," is what Ream plans to bring to Charlotte on and off the pitch.

Defensive and Offensive Solidity
Charlotte FC, who are solidly in the playoff positions, will also greatly benefit from Ream's defensive prowess. Known for his calm demeanor, excellent positioning, and ability to read the game, Ream is expected to provide even more stability to one of the best defenses in the league.

Over the past year, Ream has ranked in the 85th percentile of center backs in the top five leagues for interceptions per 90 minutes, underscoring his exceptional positioning and anticipation skills. Additionally, he is in the 81st percentile for aerial duels won, further showcasing his knack for neutralizing threats.

Proactive defending consistently outshines reactive defending, and Ream's mastery of this concept is a key reason why he has been able to elongate his career.

That composure applies to the offensive side of the game as well. Left footed center backs are rare to come by, but they bring a balance on the pitch that Head Coach Dean Smith desires. Ream's on-the-ball ability was on full display in the USMNT's 1-1 draw against Brazil earlier this summer. He was critical in the buildup for the team and not once phased by the opponent's press.

Ream has established himself as an elegant ball-playing center back impressing the likes of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City who walked up to Ream following a match and told him, "If you were 24 instead of 34, you'd be playing for me."

Ream will be a valuable asset for both defensive solidity and his ability to play out from the back to initiate attacks.

Ream Leaves Fulham

The Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached to allow Tim Ream, following his request, to leave Fulham and join MLS outfit Charlotte FC.

An outstanding servant to Fulham Football Club, the centre-back departs Craven Cottage with 312 appearances to his name – more than any other player in the 21st century, bar Tom Cairney.

"When I walked through the Motspur Park doors in 2015, I would have never predicted what the following nine years would bring," Ream said. "The memories made, the connections formed, and the people met along the way have made my time at Fulham more than special.

"I wish I could thank everyone individually for the part they played in shaping me as player, but more as a person. For all of that, I am beyond grateful.

"As of today, I am no longer a player, but I will always be a fan of Fulham Football Club."

Tony Khan added: "All of the Fulham supporters around the world and everyone at the Club are grateful to Tim Ream for his many years at Craven Cottage!

"Tim is a Fulham legend, an indelible presence in our defence, an unparalleled professional, and a great friend to so many of us at the Club. We'll miss him, but he goes with our best wishes for the rest of his wonderful career.

"The Club's supporters, staff and his friends will always welcome him back at Craven Cottage with open arms, and Tim Ream will be Forever Fulham.

"Good luck Tim! Come on Fulham!"

Fresh from winning consecutive Player of the Season awards at Bolton Wanderers, Ream joined Fulham in the summer of 2015. A regular under Kit Symons, the defender would later be deemed surplus to requirements by Slaviša Jokanović.

Unperturbed, Ream set about trying to change his Head Coach's mind, with his efforts in training ahead of the 2016/17 campaign doing just that.

Not only did Ream pull himself back into contention, but he became one of the first names on Jokanović's teamsheet. Such was the calibre of his performances, he won our 2018 Player of the Season award by a landslide – some achievement considering Ryan Sessegnon's form that year.

That was the first of three promotions Ream won with the Club, with another Wembley victory followed by the Championship title under Marco Silva, a man who trusted Ream to help the team progress in the Premier League.

Up until breaking his arm in the April, Ream started every single match of the 2022/23 campaign, captaining the side in 32 of those, making a mockery of suggestions he was not cut out for the top-flight, as the Whites finished 10th.

The next season he became the first Fulham player since Simon Morgan – 26 years prior – to play 300 games for the Club. For context, only 30 players in our history have reached that milestone.

A leader in the dressing room and on the pitch, Ream was also a fantastic ambassador for Fulham away from football, regularly contributing to activities organised by our Foundation and in the local community.

While reluctant to see such a stalwart leave SW6, everyone at the Club would like to thank Tim for his immeasurable contributions over the last nine years, and wish him and his family all the very best of luck back in the United States.

Ream signs for Charlotte
Fulham centre back Tim Ream has signed for the MLS outfit Charlotte FC on a free transfer, the club have confirmed this afternoon.

The American veteran's decision to return to his homeland in order to play regular first-team football as he bids to be part of the USA squad at their home World Cup in 2026 brings to an end nine years of superb service at Craven Cottage. Ream, now 36, joined Fulham from Bolton Wanderers in 2015 and made 312 appearances for the Whites, scoring five goals. He was also part of three Championship promotion-winning sides and, over the past two seasons, has helped Fulham re-establish themselves in the top tier of English football.

Ream told Fulham's official website:

When I walked through the Motspur Park doors in 2015, I would have never predicted what the following nine years would bring. The memories made, the connections formed, and the people met along the way have made my time at Fulham more than special. I wish I could thank everyone individually for the part they played in shaping me as player, but more as a person. For all of that, I am beyond grateful. As of today, I am no longer a player, but I will always be a fan of Fulham Football Club."

Everton and Fulham show interest in Bayer Leverkusen target Joël Matip
According to kicker, Everton and Fulham are showing interest in Bayer Leverkusen target Joël Matip.

It has previously been reported that the German champions are considering signing the former Liverpool defender, who is a free agent this summer, after deciding not to extend his contract with the Reds.

With Jonathan Tah's move to Bayern Munich looking more likely, it is expected that Die Werkself will target the 32-year-old centre-back after failing to convince Mats Hummels to move to the BayArena this summer.

Nevertheless, as stated in the report, they could face competition from Everton and Fulham, who also have Matip on their transfer shortlist.

Regardless, it is understood that the former Liverpool defender is not interested in moving to another Premier League club after enjoying a successful stint at Anfield.

Therefore, should Leverkusen give Matip the green light for a deal to go ahead, it is expected that they will be able to get the deal over the line without any issues.

Everton And Fulham Not Worries For Bayer Leverkusen In Star Chase
German champions Bayer Leverkusen are not worried about Everton and Fulham being linked with one of their defensive targets.

Xabi Alonso's side won the Bundesliga with ease last term and the Spanish boss is planning to build on that in the new season.

He is at risk of losing key defender Jonathan Tah, who is wanted by Bayern Munich, though the Bavarians want to move on Matthijs de Ligt first.

Leverkusen are planning for needing a new centre-back and they hold an interest in free agent Joel Matip.

The defender is working his way back to fitness after a cruciate ligament injury and departed Liverpool earlier this summer.

Both Everton and Fulham have been credited with interest in Matip, but according to German magazine Kicker, neither are an option for the defender.

A move within the Premier League is not something that Matip is looking at.

Heading to the BayArena would likely suit Matip, however as a free agent he is an attractive target and has a number of options on the table.

What did we learn from Fulham's preseason camp in Portugal?

The Premier League season is just over the horizon and the main bulk of Fulham's pre season has been completed after our training camp in Portugal. Two decent performances against decent opposition in Benfica and Sevilla yielded one win and one defeat. But what did we learn from these two games, and where does it leave us going into the final week of preseason?

New signings starting to bed in

All three of Fulham's new senior signings gained valuable minutes, mostly in the second fixture against Sevilla. Ryan Sessegnon had already come on as a substitute against Benfica before starting at left back against the Spanish side. Sess looked rusty at times, but that's to be expected for a player who has had such vast fitness issues in recent seasons. If Silva can ease him in gently and work out his best position, he could play a big part this season on his return to the Cottage.

A lot of excitement has been in the air in recent weeks with the impending arrival of England international Emile Smith Rowe, and his debut against Sevilla only added to the fanfare surrounding his transfer. Even before he'd got his name on the scoresheet, some of the touches he made on the half turn with his back to goal in the Sevilla half showed the class he possesses. His headed finish showed a determination not only to burst into the box to get on the end of the delivery, but to put his head where it hurts in a goalscoring position too, something we have lacked from our number 10 in recent seasons.

Jorge Cuenca was perhaps the most impressive of the three debutants, despite having the least anticipation made of his arrival. The Spanish centre back was faultless at the back. Okay, it was just a friendly played at a lower intensity against Spanish opposition he will have been familiar with, but it was an impressive showing nonetheless. His ball playing abilities were immediately obvious, with his line-splitting pass helping to create the Fulham goal. Cuenca was dominant in the air in both boxes and bought calmness to the rest of Fulham's backline, whether he was partnering Diop or Bassey. Whilst it may be hard to see him playing an abundance of minutes with Bassey in the squad, he seems a natural Tim Ream successor at Fulham.

Noticeable tactical trends

One of the key things to note from preseason is the role Adama Traore has played at right wing in this Fulham side. After struggling to establish himself in his first year at the club due to injury, it feels like he has a huge part to play going forward for Fulham. His involvement in our winning goal against Benfica was reminiscent of the winning goal at Old Trafford last season. Adama's ability to bring the ball from defence to attack in seconds due to his other-worldly pace on the ball would be a huge asset for any side. It really does look like that right wing position is his to lose this year.

What both of those goals show is a clear pattern of attacking play that Silva will continue to hope to benefit from, using the overlapping full-backs to combine well with a player that arrives in space at the perfect time to finish, often Alex Iwobi, but a role Emile Smith Rowe could often end up in this season. The emphasis on attacking full back play was evident across both preseason games. Robinson's ability to win the ball high and then create from close to the opponent's byline was frequently on show and led to the American providing assists in both fixtures. One of my main critiques for Timothy Castagne in last season's performances was that he was hitting the byline and delivering pinpoint deliveries far too infrequently. Against Benfica, he was much more aggressive going forward and showed evidence of the importance Silva is placing on his fullbacks this year.

The fact that new signings Cuenca and Smith Rowe were so quick to fit into Silva's system in preseason showed how much the 'Mister' (as Jorge Cuenca calls him) must drill his beliefs into his players in training. If Cuenca does get frequent minutes this season, we are likely to see a lot of his ball playing ability in our attacking build up play. His pass into Smith Rowe to start the attack for our goal against Sevilla fell perfectly between their defensive and midfield lines and caused all sorts of issues. Smith Rowe provides a selection headache for Silva. His ability to pick up positions between those lines, find himself in goalscoring positions and pick up the ball on the half turn provide an exciting alternative to Andreas, who often struggled to contribute to goals in open play or find himself in positions to score in the 18 yard box.

Pajaziti shines as other youngsters struggle for minutes

Adrion Pajaziti was undoubtedly the brightest academy prospect on show in Portugal. The young midfielder, who has represented both Kosovo and Albania at youth levels, as well as spending time on loan at Haugesund in 2023, made his first real positive impression in the black and white this summer. He added much needed energy in the midfield in the second half of the Benfica tie, before really stamping his authority on the first half of the game against Sevilla. Pajaziti was strong on the ball, brave in possession, and always had his head up looking to play the ball forward. At 21, he'll now be looking to kick on and hope for more senior minutes in 24/25.

Josh King and Martial Godo were the other academy players to gain minutes on this tour. King impressed in the opening stages against Benfica, whilst Godo was fairly anonymous against Sevilla. The big question to come from these fixtures, however, was the lack of minutes given to Jay Stansfield. Despite Silva publicly stating Stansfield was part of his first team plans earlier this summer, Birmingham continue to show an interest in a permanent transfer. With a lot of uncertainty surrounding the young forward's future, his lack of gametime this summer so far has only asked more questions than provide answers regarding the role he'll play at Fulham in 24/25, if at all.

Positions that still need strengthening

With a few weeks remaining of the transfer window, the camp in Portugal did reveal positions that Fulham still need to strengthen. Of course, the biggest gap remains from the departure of Joao Palhinha. Despite links most notably to Andre and Scott McTominay, it is still a position that needs filling. If Fulham are to play with such attacking full-backs and the likes of Lukic, Smith Rowe, Pereira and Iwobi in midfield, there remains a need for a holding midfielder to break play up and provide cover to the backline.

A starter is still needed at right centre back. Issa Diop isn't a terrible option every so often, but far too often he shows an error prone nature that costs Fulham potential points on a frequent basis. Getting someone in quickly so they are able to bed in and build a partnership with Calvin Bassey is massively important. The Sevilla game also suggested that Marek Rodak may need replacing as backup goalkeeper. Steven Benda struggled to assert himself in his 45 minute stint, and doesn't fill you with confidence were he to need to fill in for Leno in a competitive fixture.

Tim Ream leaves Fulham after 9 years and moves to MLS team Charlotte FC
LONDON (AP) — United States defender Tim Ream is leaving Fulham after nine years with the English club to join Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer.

Fulham announced the departure of Ream on Wednesday, with the London team describing the 36-year-old center back as a "legend" and an "outstanding servant."

"I wish I could thank everyone individually for the part they played in shaping me as player, but more as a person," said Ream, who made 312 appearances for the club. "For all of that, I am beyond grateful."

Ream, who recently played for the U.S. national team at the Copa America, lost his place as a regular for Fulham last season.

Fulham said Ream requested to leave.

Report: Fulham Steps Back from Midfield Deal

Fulham's Retreat from McTominay Bid: A Strategic Reassessment
McTominay's Rising Stock
Scott McTominay's role at Manchester United has evolved significantly, transforming him from a reliable squad player to a decisive game-changer. Last season, his contribution of seven goals in the Premier League proved critical, often rescuing his team from precarious situations. His performance in the FA Cup final, where United clinched a 2-1 victory over Manchester City, underscored his growing importance. This increase in profile has naturally drawn attention from several clubs, including Fulham, who see him as a potential linchpin in their midfield arsenal following the departure of Joao Palhinha.

Transfer Valuation: The Sticking Point
Fulham's ambition to secure McTominay was met with resistance as their £20m bid fell short of United's £30m valuation. The Times reports that this disparity has led Fulham to reconsider their pursuit. United's valuation reflects not only McTominay's on-field contributions but also his marketability and potential future impact. In the current inflated transfer market, where players of comparable influence command premium prices, United's stance is understandable.

Alternatives on the Horizon
With Fulham stepping back from negotiations for McTominay, the question arises: what next for the Cottagers? The transfer market remains rife with talent, and with funds earmarked for McTominay, Fulham might redirect their focus towards other midfield talents. The strategy could involve exploring lower-profile but highly talented players who could offer similar benefits at a reduced cost.

United's Midfield Conundrum
Meanwhile, United's midfield is a mix of talent and experience, including new acquisitions and stalwarts like Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. This depth provides Erik ten Hag with multiple tactical options, allowing for rotation without significant drop in quality. Additionally, United's involvement in ongoing negotiations for other potential signings indicates a strategic reshuffle that could see McTominay's role being recalibrated.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis
The situation with Scott McTominay is a bitter pill to swallow for Fulham. His potential arrival at Craven Cottage promised to inject quality and resilience into their midfield, especially critical after Palhinha's exit.

Seeing the club walk away, presumably due to the £10m gap in valuation, must spark a mix of frustration and resignation. On one hand, it's disheartening to miss out on a player who could significantly elevate the team's dynamics. On the other, there's a pragmatic acceptance that overstretching financially could hinder the clubs ability to strengthen the squad more broadly.

The reality is that in the hyper-competitive market of the Premier League, securing a player of McTominay's stature was always going to be a tough ask. Now, the focus must shift to uncovering other talents who can fill the void without breaking the bank, ensuring that Fulham remains competitive and financially stable.

'Definitely' - Smith Rowe credits former Arsenal teammates Iwobi and Leno for helping him settle at Fulham
England international Emile Smith Rowe has revealed that Alex Iwobi and Bernd Leno are among the players who have helped him settle at Fulham following his transfer from Arsenal.

The midfielder's move to Fulham for a reported fee of £27 million made him the second most expensive Hale End Academy product sold by Arsenal, after Super Eagles playmaker Iwobi

Iwobi remains Hale End Academy's most expensive graduate after his transfer to Everton in 2019 for a deal worth £35 million, which included a guaranteed fee of £28 million plus up to £7 million in additional fees.

Smith Rowe made an immediate impact at Fulham, scoring his first goal for the club less than seven minutes into his debut against Sevilla on Monday.

The former Arsenal midfielder found the back of the net with a header following a cross from Antonee Robinson.

Speaking to HaytersTV, Smith Rowe remarked, "Yeah, I think a little bit of a bittersweet moment. But yeah, happy obviously to score my first goal.

"I think that's actually my first professional header [goal] to be honest. So obviously nice to get the goal, but a little bit upset with the result."

When asked about the support from Iwobi and Leno in helping him settle at Fulham, Smith Rowe said, "Yeah definitely you know. Obviously not just them, everyone has helped me settle in.

"Everyone is so nice and genuine and I am really happy to be around everyone. It is really a family club."

Iwobi and Smith Rowe played three games together during their time at Arsenal, against Brentford, Qarabag  FK and Sporting CP.

Kieron Bowie Hibs transfer to go through but NO last minute Hearts bid
It has been claimed the Jambos tried to usurp their rivals in the chase for the attacker

Hibs are set to unveil Kieron Bowie as their latest signing but it's understood Hearts were NOT in the race to sign the striker.

The Fulham forward has been one of David Gray's main targets for the Hibees in this window and they are now poised to add him to their ranks, along with fellow recent recruits Mykola Kukharevych, Nicky Cadden and Junior Hoilett and additions from earlier in the window Josef Bursik, Marvin Ekpiteta and Warren O'Hora.

There was serious interest in the 21-year-old from down south and up here in Scotland after he showed up well on loan at Northampton in both League Two and League One. It has been claimed today that the Jambos attempted to usurp their rivals with a late offer but failed and that the Scotland under-21s star will soon be confirmed across the city.

However, Football Scotland understands that no such offer was made. It's believed Bowie was offered to the Tynecastle men but they said no, rather than the rejection being the other way about.

It's understood the player was put to Steven Naismith fairly recently but he was not interested in pursuing a deal. The Jambos have done eight deals so far this summer, adding Yan Dhanda, Blair Spittal, James Penrice, Ryan Fulton, Musa Drammeh, Daniel Oyegoke, Gerald Taylor and Malachi Boateng. Colombia left-back Andres Salazar is expected to follow.

Wrexham and Barnsley were among the clubs looking at Bowie but the former Raith man preferred a move back to Scotland to be closer to family. The Hibs Observer claim around £600,000 is being spent on the deal.

Exclusive: Fulham Will 'Slap £25m Price Tag' on Aston Villa Target

Fulham have set their sights on escalating their valuation of Andreas Pereira after he has worked his way onto the radar of Chelsea, Aston Villa and Marseille.
Marco Silva is determined to hold onto the eight-cap Brazil international instead of cashing in ahead of the fast-approaching transfer deadline.
Pereira has impressed during pre-season and seen the level of admiration from his suitors go up a notch since the end of last term.

Fulham are planning to increase Andreas Pereira's price tag to more than £25million as they are determined to ensure he does not follow the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Joao Palhinha in heading through the Craven Cottage exit door after attracting interest, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Although boss Marco Silva has been keen to bolster his squad ahead of travelling to Manchester United on the opening day of the Premier League season, with Emile Smith Rowe becoming the Cottagers' record signing thanks to completing a £34million move from Arsenal, he is also vying to keep his top performers.

Palhinha was allowed to join Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich for more than £47million last month, meaning that Fulham are not in desperate need of securing further cash, but that has not stopped admirers circling for the likes of Pereira ahead of the transfer window slamming shut on August 30.

Cottagers Ready to Increase Pereira Valuation
West Londoners determined to keep Brazil international on board
Fulham have set their sights on hiking up their demands for Pereira to upwards of £25million if a formal approach is made for his signature, according to GMS sources, as the west Londoners are desperate to protect themselves ahead of a potential offer being made in the coming weeks.

While the creative midfielder has entered the final two years of his £50,000-per-week contract at Craven Cottage, resulting in interested parties being optimistic of there being a cut-price deal to be done ahead of the fast-approaching deadline, Silva is determined to keep him among his options.

GMS sources have been informed that speculation over Pereira's future has grown significantly due to Smith Rowe's arrival, with suitors believing there could be a window of opportunity to pounce after Fulham have strengthened their options in his preferred position, but he has been a crucial cog in their system.

The eight-cap Brazil international joined the capital club for up to £10million from Manchester United two years ago, with the Red Devils including a 20 per cent sell-on clause in the agreement, and his current employers are not interested in allowing him to move onto pastures new with the 2024/25 campaign looming.

Chelsea, Aston Villa and Marseille are among the sides interested in offering Pereira a route out of Fulham, GMS sources have learned, and their admiration has gone up a notch since the end of last season as plans have been put in place to strengthen their respective squads before the fast-approaching deadline.

Pereira Remains Highly-Rated by Silva
Creative midfielder has been impressing with pre-season levels
GMS sources have been told that Silva still rates Pereira highly and, having looked sharp during pre-season and Fulham's tour of Portugal, the former Everton and Watford chief is eager to keep him on the banks of the River Thames instead of entertaining the possibility of cashing in over the course of the coming weeks.

The 28-year-old was one of the first names on the team sheet during the 2023/24 campaign - making 44 appearances and racking up 12 goal contributions along the way - highlighting that he has been in the forefront of the Cottagers' plans, and that has not changed amid transfer speculation.

Fulham have been doubling down on their efforts to keep Pereira, Bernd Leno and Antonee Robinson, GMS sources recently revealed, as they are determined to ensure that Silva's first-choice starting line-up is not decimated after already being forced to contend with finding replacements for Adarabioyo and Palhinha.

Tim Ream completes MLS move to leave Fulham searching for new centre-back
Long-serving Fulham defender Tim Ream has completed a move to MLS side Charlotte FC.

The Premier League have confirmed that the USA international has left the club after spending nine years at Craven Cottage.

Ream signed a contract extension in December 2023, but The Athletic are reporting that Fulham have allowed him to depart on a free transfer due to his years of service.

Ream told the club's website: "When I walked through the Motspur Park doors in 2015, I would have never predicted what the following nine years would bring.

"In all my conversations with the people around the club, it was clear this organisation and city were the right places for my family, and I to continue our journey.

"I'm here to win, and I'm looking forward to getting to know the team as we prepare for a key stretch of matches that will propel us toward the playoffs as we fight for our first trophy."

Fulham bid farewell to long-serving defender
Ream leaves Fulham after featuring in 312 matches in all competitions and helping the club win promotion from the Championship on three occasions.

Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan said: "All of the Fulham supporters around the world and everyone at the club are grateful to Tim Ream for his many years at Craven Cottage!

"Tim is a Fulham legend, an indelible presence in our defence, an unparalleled professional, and a great friend to so many of us at the club. We'll miss him, but he goes with our best wishes for the rest of his wonderful career.

"The club's supporters, staff and his friends will always welcome him back at Craven Cottage with open arms, and Tim Ream will be forever Fulham."

The 36-year-old defender returns to the MLS for the first time since leaving New York Red Bulls for Bolton Wanderers in January 2012.

The experienced centre-back has signed a contract with Charlotte until 2026, with an option to extend by a further 12 months.

Dean Smith's side are currently sitting in sixth place in the Eastern Conference after collecting 37 points from 25 matches.

What does Ream's departure mean for Fulham?
Ream has become the second centre-back to leave Fulham this summer after Tosin Adarabioyo departed at the end of last season.

The Cottagers recently strengthened Marco Silva's defensive options with the addition of Jorge Cuenca from Villarreal.

The West London club will now be keen to recruit another central defender to fill the void created by Ream's departure.

Fulham have recently been linked with a potential move for Aston Villa's Diego Carlos, who has two years left to run on his current contract.

Emile Smith Rowe admission says everything about Arsenal to Fulham transfer decision
Emile Smith Rowe has spoken out on his decision to leave Arsenal for Fulham this summer, after making his first appearance for the Whites and scoring in pre-season against Sevilla

Emile Smith Rowe has started life at Fulham in almost the best way possible, with the new arrival getting on the scoresheet in his first appearance for the club.

The 24-year-old made his Fulham debut in a pre-season clash against Sevilla, just three days after his move to west London was confirmed. And it did not take the attacker long to make an impact, getting on the end of a cross to head home just seven minutes into his first appearance in the 2-1 defeat against the Spanish side.

While Smith Rowe was pleased about his first professional headed goal, he admitted it wasn't quite what he was hoping for from the night with the Cottagers unable to overcome Garcia Pimienta's side.

"Yeah, I think a little bit of a bittersweet moment," Smith Rowe told Hayters. "Obviously not the result that we wanted today, you know - even though it's pre-season we want to win every game. But yeah, happy obviously to score my first goal.

"I think that's actually my first professional header [goal] to be honest. So obviously nice to get the goal, but a little bit upset with the result."

But what the former Gunners star said about his hopes for the coming season said it all about the decision to leave Arsenal. Smith Rowe had two years blighted by injury at the Emirates Stadium, and was unable to force himself back into the team upon his recovery.

The former Arsenal star was asked about whether he had a target for goals this season, but while keeping his cards close to his chest on a specific number, he did make a telling revelation about his ambition for the season.

"I think just staying fit, getting as many games as I can," Smith Rowe said about his ambitions for the year. "I just want to focus on being 100% fit and being on the pitch and showing what I can do.

"I'll leave that [a goals target] to myself, but there'll definitely be goals this season and assists, for sure."

While Smith Rowe admitted that it was a "sad moment" to leave the Gunners, he says he is taking to life at Craven Cottage well, with former Arsenal duo Alex Iwobi and Bernd Leno acting as familiar faces.

"I've settled in really well," he added. "It was definitely an emotional move, like you said being at Arsenal for so long. It was definitely a sad moment but obviously I'm in a really good place at the moment; I'm really happy, and the manager, all the staff, all the players - they've taken me in so well and everyone's giving me confidence and helping me settle in. So I'm really happy about that.

"Yeah, definitely [Iwobi and Leno are helping]. But obviously not just them, everyone's helping me settle in. Everyone's so nice and genuine, I'm really happy to be around everyone. It's a real family club."

Fulham 'put £25m price tag on Pereira'
Fulham have put a £25m price tag on attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira in an attempt to ward off interest from the likes of Aston Villa, Chelsea and Marseille, according to Give Me Sport.

The Whites are desperate to hold onto the Brazilian international, who is entering the last two years of his current contract at Craven Cottage. Pereira, who has scored eight goals and added 15 assists in 82 appearances since joining the Whites from Manchester United, is considered a key part of Marco Silva's plans and recently told the Evening Standard that joining Fulham two summers ago was one of the best decisions of his career.

Ligue 1 outfit Marseille had an enquiry for the 28 year-old knocked back earlier this month and suggestions that Fulham could be open to allowing Pereira to leave after signing Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal are wide of the mark.

Fulham cool interest in Scott McTominay
Fulham have reportedly cooled their interest in Manchester United star Scott McTominay.

Fulham's interest in Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay appears to have cooled, according to HITC. The London club had earmarked the 27-year-old as a potential replacement for Joao Palhinha, who recently transferred to Bayern Munich.

Fulham initially made a bid for McTominay last week, having earlier inquired about his availability during the summer. The proposed deal, valued at approximately £20 million, was promptly rejected by Manchester United. Despite ongoing negotiations, United held firm, seeking closer to £30 million for the Scotland international.

Marco Silva's Admiration and Fulham's Decision
Marco Silva, Fulham's head coach, is a known admirer of McTominay and had urged the club to pursue the midfielder. However, despite Silva's interest, Fulham have decided to abandon their pursuit and look for alternatives.

Manchester United's initial stance was to retain McTominay. But financial pressures meant they were open to selling him to raise funds. Erik ten Hag, United's manager, ideally wanted to keep McTominay at Old Trafford but understood the club's need to generate cash from player sales.

McTominay's Commitment to Manchester United
It has become clear that McTominay is not yet convinced about leaving Manchester United. The midfielder, praised as "fantastic" by former United star Dimitar Berbatov, is ready to fight for his place at Old Trafford despite interest from Fulham and Turkish clubs Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

With Fulham now out of the race for McTominay, they remain on the lookout for a suitable replacement for Palhinha. Their decision to move on from McTominay indicates they are actively exploring other options to strengthen their midfield before the transfer window closes.

Fulham's decision to walk away from McTominay makes sense given the financial constraints and the player's apparent commitment to Manchester United. While McTominay would have been a strong addition to Fulham's midfield, the club's willingness to explore other targets shows their flexibility in recruitment. For Manchester United, retaining McTominay could provide stability in their midfield, especially if they do not find a better alternative.
