Nice way to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of MOTD, a MOTD "Scandal".

Will lose his £195K BBC salary it seems....he's actually hosting on Talksport at this moment, getting a few more quid,.so it can't be that bad.

He is a terrible presenter.

H4usuallysitting

He's been fiddling with his VAR

bill taylors apprentice

Inappropriate texting.

_Putney_

zZzZz all so predictable.. give it another two or three months after this story dies down and there'll be a new one

MikeTheCubed

If the BBC find his behaviour to be inexcusable then that rules out child abuse.

Lighthouse

The BBC do seem to pay very poor presenters lots of money only to have to sack the odd one for inappropriate behaviour. The bosses are really bad at their job. Good job their not football coaches.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Weird they can sack him for inappropriate texting but keep Huw Edwards on the books for ages and even then it took a court case for them to fire him
Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

Do you think that they are the only business where this sort of thing happens? There are plenty of football and gymnastics coaches all over the country who have probably been guilty of inappropriate behaviour with their youngsters it is just that they have never come to Court.

Jermaine Jenas also works for Talksport and TNT Sports in case you weren't aware.
I guess their bosses must be really bad at their jobs too?

Have they all a history as long as the BBC of employing wronguns?  I didn't know that. Or had to sack as many presenters as the BBC. Or insist we pay a tax to keep their service going. I didn't know any of this.

It's the same presenter for all three broadcasters. Why are you always so fixated on the BBC?

Jims Dentist

He has liked to come across so squeaky clean and "right on".
Just goes to show.

That's not very PC of em "BBC" to fire a person of color

RaySmith

Quote from: Angus Telford on August 22, 2024, 11:44:20 PMAs far as I can tell he's accused of sending a female colleague a text that was flirty and/or unsolicited. Hardly makes him a "wrongun" or goes to show anything really...

Doesn't sound that bad, though we don't know the full story, but the BBC is obviously terrified of the criticism it would get if it came out, and he was still working for them.

The BBC has become a pantomime villain of the right wing press and commentariat on social media, but personally I doubt they employ more  wrong un's than any  huge organization. Yes, they are publicly funded - we own it rather than a huge US based corporation, which, of course, has this county's best interests at heart rather than the vast profits of  its shareholders!

But the BBC comes under more scrutiny from the press/social media etc than other broadcasters - people are always looking for an excuse......
