Why Fulham's stadium development works well
Rising high above a stretch of the River Thames familiar to millions around the world thanks to the annual Boat Race, Fulham's new Riverside Stand is already a worthy addition to the London skyline.

Who says so? Simon Inglis, the UK's foremost stadium expert and author of the seminal book on the subject, The Football Grounds of England and Wales, the first edition of which was published in 1983.

"I personally think it's the best football stand of the 21st century," he says. "You immediately think, 'Wow, an architect has been involved in this'. I love the way the roof cantilevers over, almost like a giant wing. And how it's beautifully articulated round the back, near the river.

"It is somewhere with the potential to be a real iconic London landmark. At the same time, I'd say it has a bold and quite American approach to it. Very shiny black cladding, which you could say makes it rather resemble a funeral parlour.

"But it fits in with Fulham, playing in black and white."

Inglis also approves of how the £100million development, which will fully open in 2025, has further opened up the north bank of the river in west London, with the public now able to walk behind the new stand. Previously, those following the 'Thames Path' from Hammersmith had to cut inland along Stevenage Road to navigate Fulham's home before returning to the water's edge in Bishop's Park.

Fulham's new Riverside Stand might not, of course, be to everyone's taste. Others may prefer a more traditional look, such as the Archibald Leitch-designed stand, complete with the adjoining Craven Cottage, that sits directly across Fulham's pitch from this gleaming, new addition to the capital's skyline.

In fact Fulham offers an intriguing blend of the old and the new in stadium design (although there have been fan complaints about ticket pricing).

Before The Whistle: Fulham v Bournemouth

Let's have this right. We're flying. We're unbeaten in six, we're eighth in the league – and we're eighth in table for 2024 with 13 wins.

It's been a hell of a year for Marco Silva's boys, and they'll want to end it in the most positive way possible following our boxing day triumph against Chelsea. Leapfrogging Bournemouth, another side having quite the campaign, and surpassing 30 points before the year's out is the perfect way to do it.

Injury-wise, it's as you were with no progress and no fresh concerns, according to Silva. But don't expect another five-at-the-back masterclass at home against our peers. We could have an XI that's closer to the one that took to the pitch against Southampton – hopefully with different results.

Whether that includes Josh King is anyone's guess. But with Emile Smith Rowe still sidelined, there are places up for grabs.

Joachim Andersen returned to the starting line–up against Chelsea in that back five; it was a clever way to slot the Dane back in without dropping Diop. It's safe to say he impressed enough to continue in defence if Silva so chooses. Watch that space.

Win, lose, or draw, it'd be tough to take the shine off this year. But with this side, there's no way they'll be gunning for anything less than three points. You Whites.

How Rodrigo Muniz has elevated himself from cult hero to club legend

Jon Harland writes another ode to our Brazilian striker after his Boxing Day SW6 heroics.

No win away at Chelsea since 1979. No win there in the top flight since 1964. No goal since Clint Dempsey in 2011.

Fulham's record at Stamford Bridge has been nothing short of dismal. Despite finally scoring a goal, this bitter trend was set to continue on Boxing Day, as the Whites entered stoppage time at 1-1. An away point would have been respectable, especially given second-placed Chelsea's electric start under Enzo Maresca.

But the bragging rights over our neighbours in SW6, which fans so desperately craved, would surely have to wait.

Enter Rodrigo Muniz. Our very own R9 replaced Raul Jimenez in the 73rd minute, as Marco Silva rolled the dice to overcome the 1-0 scoreline.

And Marco hit the jackpot. Fellow substitute Harry Wilson, in superb form off the bench, stifled yet another West London rival with a well-taken equaliser. Then Muniz sent the Shed End into bedlam in the 95th minute.

Rodrigo's finish secured an iconic win and arguably elevated his status from an undisputed cult hero to a potential club legend. The Brazilian beauty etched his name into the Fulham history books and ensured he never has to buy a pint in Putney again.

It's the perfect time to honour our king and explore why the Fulham faithful adore him, despite a goal-scoring record that, while decent, seems relatively unremarkable so far in black and white.

A turbulent career

If a neutral fan were to inspect Muniz's time at Fulham, they might wonder why a centre-forward with 17 goals in 68 games is so cherished at Craven Cottage.

Muniz was an unknown quantity when Silva signed the 20-year-old for just over £6.5m from Flamengo ahead of the 2021/22 Championship campaign. A record-shattering 43 goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic understandably left Muniz with limited minutes, scoring four times as Fulham stormed the league and promotion.

As the chant goes, "He couldn't even start" during his loan spell at Middlesbrough the following season, only netting twice in 17 appearances.

Muniz's purple patch has been well documented and discussed among the Fulham fraternity. A goal away at Burnley in February marked the start of a remarkable run of eight goals in eight games.

But despite being deservedly rewarded with the number 9 jersey ahead of the current campaign, the striker has been unable to relive that form, sharing responsibilities up top with Raul Jimenez.

So why is the 23-year-old so popular among the fanbase?

Cult hero

As Fulhamish's very own Drew Heatley declared recently, Rodrigo Muniz is pure Premier League box office. He consistently creates moments on the pitch that get fans excited, such as attempting (and occasionally pulling off) audacious bicycle kicks.

But it's his work rate and passion that has endeared him to supporters. He chases down every clearance, puts his body on the line, and celebrates like a maniac with the fans, even if it's a teammate's goal.

This attitude transcends off the pitch too. Fulham's dressing room emits phenomenal vibes this year, mainly documented through the lens of Alex Iwobi on social media. Rodrigo appears to be the life and soul of the party.

Whether it's samba dancing with his Brazilian teammates or expressing his love for Madame Tussauds in a quirky BBC Sport interview, his personality is infectious, leaving you rooting for our number 9 whenever he plays.

Legend status confirmed?

This is why, if there was any player I'd want to score a last-minute winner at Stamford Bridge, it would be Muniz (although Ryan Sessegnon or Tom Cairney would be pretty sweet).

Even if he hadn't given us that late Christmas gift on Boxing Day, in 20 years' time Rodrigo's name would undoubtedly come up in the odd conversation in the pub when reminiscing on this phenomenal Fulham era.

But that Chelsea winner, which triggered biblical limbs in the away end, has permanently engraved Rodrigo Muniz's name into every Fulham fan's psyche. Given the significance of finally beating the Blues away in nearly half a century, the Brazilian will be eternally synonymous with a day that will be celebrated for many years to come.

While any other player who claimed the winner would also forever be associated with the historic match, it's Roddy's existing reputation that has uniquely elevated his stature. There's a perfectly sound argument to label him a legend already, and if he sticks around at the Cottage for the majority of his career, longevity will affirm his case.

With goals at the Etihad, Anfield, and now Stamford Bridge, I can't wait to see what moments of brilliance Muniz can produce for the remainder of the season. He's shown he can be prolific in front of goal, so let's hope this moment sparks his best form yet in a Fulham shirt.

Thank you, Rodrigo.

How to watch Fulham vs Bournemouth live: Stream link, TV channel, team news, prediction
Fulham host Bournemouth at Craven Cottage on Sunday in what should be a beauty of a game between two teams full of confidence as they continue to punch above their weight.

Marco Silva's Fulham secured an incredible late comeback 2-1 win at local rivals Chelsea on Boxing Day to secure their first top-flight win at Stamford Bridge since 1964. The Cottagers have so many great midfield and attacking options and are in the top four conversation at the halfway point of the season. Nobody predicted that at the start of the season. What a job Silva is doing.

Bournemouth are having an equally remarkable season as Andoni Iraola's side are just one point behind Fulham. They drew 0-0 at home with Crystal Palace on Boxing Day as their offense continues to blow hot and cold. When they're on, Bournemouth are pretty unstoppable with their high-pressing style.

Fulham team news, focus
Silva switched to a 3-4-2-1 formation against Chelsea and it worked a treat. Robinson and Castagne were excellent at wing-back and the central defensive trio of Bassey, Andersen and Diop mopped up everything. Fulham only changed their formation due to midfield injuries and perhaps they've stumbled upon something.

OUT: Harrison Reed (knee), Reiss Nelson (hamstring), Kenny Tete (knee)| QUESTIONABLE: Emile Smith Rowe (leg), Sander Berge (ankle)

Bournemouth team news, focus
The Cherries have struggled with injuries in recent weeks but squad players are stepping with Enes Unal, Dango Ouattara and Dean Huijsen all impressing after coming into the team. Bournemouth need Evanilson to get back among the goals.

Liverpool now have realistic chance of sealing "big" January signing of 27 y/o – report
Liverpool have a realistic opportunity of signing Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson in the January transfer window, a new report has claimed.

The Reds may well decide to bring in a new left-back in 2025, following an up-and-down season for Andy Robertson to date.

While the 30-year-old has enjoyed some good performances, mistakes have started to creep in and he was sent-off in the 2-2 draw at home to Fulham earlier this month.

Robinson has emerged as one of the standout options to come in and provide more competition for Robertson, along with Bournemouth ace Milos Kerkez.

Now, a new update from Football Insider says that a January move to Liverpool is a "realistic possibility" for Robinson, who has shone up against Mohamed Salah over the years.

The Reds are still "keeping tabs" on the American and a "big" move is far from out of the question next month, with the defender wanting a switch to a big club at some point in 2025.

Our thoughts on this latest Robinson to Liverpool update...
Robinson ticks plenty of boxes when it comes to what Liverpool are looking for at left-back, with the USA international an impressive performer at both ends of the pitch.

In the aforementioned draw at Anfield earlier in the campaign, the 27-year-old registered assists for both of his side's goals, but he has also averaged 3.2 clearances and 2.8 tackles per game in the Premier League in 2024/25 to date. Meanwhile, Fulham manager Marco Silva has lauded him, saying:

"Even when I arrived at Fulham four seasons ago, the way he has improved off the ball has been exceptional. If you create the right areas for him, he is going to be decisive going forward. Going up and down is not easy for any winger to follow him the way he plays, but also he has improved in his defensive set-up. He's open-minded to learn and is a player who is always ready for us because he's a great athlete."

obinson does turn 28 next year, however, which may be nagging away at the likes of Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, due to his peak potentially passing in the not-to0-distant future.

For that reason, Kerkez could represent the more sensible option of the two, considering he is seven years the Fulham hero's junior.

Fulham now keen to sign "special" Man City star ready to leave in January
Flying high in the top half of the Premier League, Fulham have now reportedly joined the race to sign a Manchester City midfielder who's ready to leave the champions in the January transfer window.

Fulham transfer news
The Cottagers have been one of the most entertaining sides to watch in the Premier League so far this season and have reaped the rewards as a result.

Their best moment was undoubtedly saved for Boxing Day when Rodrigo Muniz netted a last-gasp winner to secure Fulham's first victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 45 years. Scoring two goals in the dying embers, Marco Silva's side completed a sensational turnaround.

Now looking to maintain a shock push for a European place in the Premier League, Fulham have reportedly turned their attention towards the January transfer window.

Names such as Breno Bidon and Gabriel Schluter have been mentioned, with the latter being one for the future. But before either of those targets can arrive, the Cottagers may well line up a move to sign a Premier League midfielder.

According to Graeme Bailey for The Boot Room, Fulham are now keen to win the race for James McAtee next month after the midfielder informed Manchester City about his desire to leave the club amid a struggle for game time.

However, the 22-year-old hasn't just attracted interest from Fulham. West London rivals Brentford, as well as Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, West Ham United and Celtic are all also reportedly keen to secure McAtee's signature in the winter window.

Of course, the last academy graduate to leave Manchester City - Cole Palmer - has certainly enjoyed great success, and has even cemented himself as one of the Premier League's best players.

Now, Fulham are seeking to benefit from the Citizens' academy by signing McAtee in January.

"Special" McAtee needs move
If Manchester City were at their usual ruthless best and on an unstoppable march towards Premier League glory once again, McAtee's struggle for game time would be more than understandable. However, this is not the relentless City side that English football has come to expect.

This is a team in the middle of a run that consists of 1 win in 13 games. Yet, amid so many struggles and so many injuries, McAtee remains without the chance he so desperately craves. As such, he needs to move on in the January transfer window.

Fulham represent a solid candidate for his signature, too. The Cottagers are free-flowing and on the rise, playing the type of football that could see McAtee thrive alongside the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Andreas Pereira.

However, whether Manchester City allow their young midfielder to leave is another question entirely. When quizzed on McAtee's future in the summer, Pep Guardiola told reporters: "I would love to have, to keep him next season with us, because he's a special guy to play in small spaces, in the pockets, and we don't have many."

Fulham vs AFC Bournemouth: Preview and Prediction
Fulham and Bournemouth, who are both battling it out for a European spot, will go head-to-head at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Both Fulham and Bournemouth are enjoying an excellent 2024/25 Premier League campaign. They are looking to stay within touching distance of the top four and are all set to square up against each other at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon in search of three important points.

The Cottagers are eighth on the Premier League table with 28 points in their 18 outings. The West London outfit are just a point behind fifth-placed Newcastle United, and they will be looking to keep the pressure on the team ahead of them with another win here.

Fulham went through a difficult phase where they played out three consecutive draws, but they returned to their best with a terrific win over Chelsea last time out. They will be confident about building on that result against the Cherries.

On the other hand, the visitors are sixth on the table with 29 points in their 18 outings. Bournemouth have been playing some quality football, and they have been unbeaten in their last six league games.

While Andoni Iraola's men have done most things right, Bournemouth will be disappointed having dropped points against Crystal Palace last time out. They will be eager to return to winning ways, but it won't be easy against Fulham. The Hard Tackle takes a close look at both teams and tries to predict the tactics they could put to use.

Team News & Tactics
Fulham

The Cottagers remain without the services of Kenny Tete (knee), Reiss Nelson (thigh), and Harrison Reed (knee). Meanwhile, Emile Smith Rowe and Sander Berge's availability remains doubtful.

Fulham will line up in a 4-5-1 formation, where Bernd Leno will be in goal. Timothy Castagne and Calvin Bassey should be the full-backs, with Joachim Andersen and Issa Diop pairing up at the heart of the defence.

Adama Traore and Antonee Robinson will feature out wide on the flanks. In the centre of the park, Andreas Pereira will start alongside Sasa Lukic and Alex Iwobi. Raul Jimenez is expected to lead the line for Fulham against Bournemouth.

Probable Lineup (4-5-1): Leno; Castagne, Diop, Andersen, Bassey; Traore, Pereira, Lukic, Iwobi, Robinson; Jimenez

Bournemouth
Andoni Iraola will be without the services of Marcos Senesi, Julian Araujo, Alex Scott, Luis Sinisterra, Marcus Tavernier and Adam Smith. Meanwhile, Justin Kluivert is suspended for this fixture because of a milestone yellow card last time out.

The visitors will line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Kepa Arrizabalaga will continue in goal for the Cherries, while Max Aarons and Milos Kerkez will be the full-backs. In the heart of the defence, Illia Zabarnyi will partner with Dean Huijsen.

As for the midfield unit, Lewis Cook and Ryan Christie will form the double pivot in the centre of the park. They will look to control the tempo. Philip Billing is expected to be the attacking midfielder for this fixture, with Dango Ouattara and Antoine Semenyo on the flanks. Evanilson should be the one leading the line for Bournemouth against Fulham.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Aarons, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Christie, Cook; Semenyo, Billing, Ouattara; Evanilson

Key Stats

Fulham are unbeaten in their last six league games.
Marco Silva's team have picked up 15 points from their nine home games.
The Cottagers have won just one out of their last six matches against the Cherries across competitions.
But, Fulham did win when the two teams last squared up against each other at Craven Cottage back in February 2024.
The Cherries have picked up 14 points in their nine away games so far.

Player to Watch
Alex Iwobi
The 28-year-old has been one of the standout performers for Fulham in the ongoing campaign. The Nigerian international has five goals and three assists in his 18 Premier League outings. Having not contributed towards a goal in his last four league outings, Iwobi will be eager to leave his mark on this fixture.

Prediction
Fulham 2-2 Bournemouth

Both teams have been playing some great football this season, and they will surely give it their all for the three important points. Given the kind of form they have been in, it will be hard for either team to come out on top here. The Hard Tackle predicts a 2-2 draw between Fulham and Bournemouth.

Fulham vs. Bournemouth: Cherries looking to equal club record in final Premier League match of 2024
Bournemouth will have the opportunity to equal a club record in Sunday's Premier League clash with Fulham.

The Cherries are sitting in sixth place in the Premier League table after winning eight, drawing five and losing five of their 18 league games this season.

Andoni Iraola's side have taken 14 points from a possible 18 since suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on November 23.

They followed that result with three consecutive wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur and Ipswich Town, before they played out a 1-1 home draw against West Ham United.

The Cherries went on to enjoy a memorable outing against Man United, producing an impressive away performance to claim a 3-0 victory at Old Trafford for the second year in a row.

Bournemouth out to equal club record in Fulham clash
Bournemouth were unable to make it back-to-back wins in their recent clash with Crystal Palace, playing out a goalless draw at the Vitality Stadium on Boxing Day.

While that may have been an underwhelming result, the goalless affair extended Bournemouth's unbeaten streak to six matches, leaving them on the brink of equalling a club record.

The South Coast side are now just one game away from equalling the club's longest unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Bournemouth current record stands at seven Premier League matches without defeat after previously achieving the feat in 2017-18 and 2023-24.

Last season, the Cherries recorded six victories and one draw in a seven-game unbeaten which included a 3-0 home victory over Fulham on Boxing Day.

Kluivert to miss Craven Cottage visit
If Bournemouth are to equal the club record, they will have to do it without the services of Netherlands international Justin Kluivert.

The 25-year-old will serve a one-match ban after receiving his fifth yellow card of the Premier League season in the goalless draw with Palace.

Bournemouth are also having to cope with a number of injury absentees, including Kluivert's fellow attackers Marcus Tavernier and Luis Sinisterra.

They are joined on the sidelines by midfielder Alex Scott as well as the defensive trio of Julian Araujo, Marcos Senesi and Adam Smith.

Club's 'negotiations 'progressing' for Fulham player – Explained why president 'confident' of agreement with Marco Silva's side
Palmeiras are working on signing Fulham's Andreas Pereira which has been reported in the Brazilian media for the past week.

On Christmas Eve, we covered multiple claims from Brazil which stated Palmeiras made a €20m bid for the midfielder and could raise it by €2m to convince Fulham.

Two days later, Fulham sealed a 2-1 win over Chelsea and after the tie, Marco Silva talked about the possibility of losing the 28-year-old to the Brazilian club.

Bolavip claim Palmeiras' deal for the former Manchester United man is 'stuck' as there is no agreement with Fulham yet. Despite this, they are optimistic of getting this operation over the line in the upcoming window.

Palmeiras president Leila Pereira is 'confident of the deal' because of Andreas' desire to return to Brazil and Fulham's stance.

Marco Silva's side are aware the player wants to join Palmeiras and keeping him against his wish could impact the club and his performances. Therefore, Fulham have opened talks with the South American club.

It's claimed the 'negotiations [are] progressing', even though it's at a slow pace. There's no deal yet in place between the two clubs, but their president is confident on reaching an agreement with Fulham.

Fulham's Calvin Bassey makes BBC Team of the Week after intense showdown in Chelsea win
Super Eagles and Fulham defender, Calvin Chinedu Bassey, was included in Troy Deeney's BBC Matchday 18 Team of the Week after a brilliant performance in his side's midweek 2-1 win over Chelsea, Soccernet.ng reports.

Bassey produced a strong block at the end of the first half to deny Cole Palmer a second goal at Stamford Bridge, and nearly got on the scoring side of things as well but was denied by Chelsea's Robert Sanchez. Late goals from Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz sealed three points for Marco Silva's side.

Deeney, who was famously known as a Watford striker before he hung his boots, took up punditry with BBC and is now tasked with picking the BBC Team of the Week.

In goal, the former Watford striker opted for Nottingham Forests' Matz Sels who made crucial saves in The Reds' 1-0 win over Ange Postecoglu's Tottenham Hotspur. Nuno Espirito's side have now won four games running and are 4th on the league table.

West Ham United's Aaron Wan Bissaka takes up the right-back position after a brilliant shift in his side's 1-0 win over Paul Onuachu's Southampton.

Deeney's centre-back pairing includes Nottingham Forest's Murillo Dos Santos and Fulham's Calvin Bassey who were locked in as their respective sides sealed wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. Pervis Estupinán claims the left-back spot.

"Solid again. Murillo kept a clean sheet and Bassey would have had one if not for a wonderful goal from Cole Palmer. Both were wonderful and instrumental to their teams getting victories," Deeney wrote in his column.

Deeney opted for a midfield five. Liverpool's Curtis Jones and Newcastle United's Joelinton pair up in a pivot as the duo found the back of their net in their side's win over Leicester City and Aston Villa respectively.

On the left flank, Cody Gakpo claims a spot after scoring a brilliant curler against Leicester City. Newcastle's Anthony Gordon takes on the right flank after scoring against Aston Villa. Wolves' Matheus Santos Camiero Da Cunha is in the number ten position as he scored directly from a corner kick against Manchester United.

The team is led up-front by Newcastle United's Aleksandar Isak who found the back against Aston Villa to take his total season tally to 11 for the season.

Has Antonee Robinson Overtaken Christian Pulisic As The Best USMNT Player?
During the past week, the question has been raised as to whether Antonee Robinson is the best left-back in the Premier League, which in turn suggests he could be the best player on the United States men's team.

The Athletic and Sky Sports have both stated their respective cases for why Robinson is the best in his position in the English top flight, citing his combination of creativity, defensive ability, and overall performances in games against some of the best teams and players in what is widely considered the best league in soccer.

On top of his soccer ability, Fulham manager Marco Silva has also given Robinson the responsibility of captaining the club.

The left-back now seems to be preferred over goalkeeper Bernd Leno to wear the armband in the absence of club captain Tom Cairney.

Speaking of captains, the USMNT captain Christian Pulisic has been considered his country's best player for some time now, and with good reason.

Pulisic is having another good season at AC Milan, where he leads the club's scoring charts with five goals in Serie A plus three in the Champions League. The 26-year-old is enjoying one of the best spells of his career to date.

Pulisic remains an example for other U.S. players and a target for them to reach in terms of the quality of his play at a high level, but if Robinson is being considered the best in his position in one of the top leagues in the world, against some of the best players in the world, could he be considered to have eclipsed Pulisic as the best American player at this moment in time?

Robinson's battle with Mohamed Salah in Fulham's recent game against Premier League leaders Liverpool made more people sit up and take notice of his ability in and out of possession.

He assisted two goals and put in a solid defensive display against Salah in this high-profile game from which Fulham came away with a 2-2 draw.

The data backed up the eye test, with FotMob's player ratings marking him out as the Man of the Match.

"What a performance," Fulham manager Silva said after that game.

"It was difficult to express in words the performance this afternoon—again, it's not the first time.

"He's a great athlete, but the way he's been improving in our defensive process, some defensive setups, he's always open-minded to learn and he's been improving.

"And of course, in attack, he's already the full-back with the most assists from open play in the Premier League. Last season he was as well.

"But as well, playing against Salah, a lot of situations one-versus-one, the way he was brave, the way he was assertive and aggressive in the right way.

"For me, he's a great example, one of the greatest in our dressing room. The way he works, the way he's been playing, he's been brilliant for us and we are really pleased to have him."

With this in mind, it's been no surprise that Robinson has since been linked with a transfer to Liverpool and to other top clubs in the Premier League.

At 27 years old he might be just outside the age range of the players Liverpool tends to target.

Despite this, he would certainly be an upgrade for most Champions League-chasing Premier League teams in the left-back position.

Cases could also be made for players such as Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, Rayan Aït-Nouri of Wolves, and Lewis Hall of Newcastle to be the best left-backs in the league.

However, Robinson's combination of creative output, athleticism, and defensive ability—all mentioned by Silva—make him stand out above these players.

As for being the best player on the USMNT, Robinson might also have a case for this too.

Pulisic put in some good performances in the same league during his time with Chelsea, especially during his first season at the club after moving from Borussia Dortmund.

Pulisic was better for Chelsea than some of the surface-level assessments on his departure might suggest, but Robinson has been consistently good in the Premier League with Fulham for some time now.

If anything Robinson's name being mentioned among the league's best is long overdue.

Born in Milton Keynes, England, but eligible for the United States through his father who was raised in New York, the England national team might now be regretting letting Robinson slip through the net.

He would surely get a place on England's national team roster now, but the country of his birth's loss has been his adopted nation's gain.

Regardless of who is the better of the two, it might be a relief to Pulisic to have someone else at his level and profile to share the burden with for the United States ahead of the Gold Cup in 2025 and the World Cup on home soil in 2026.

With both having career seasons so far in 2024/25, it will be interesting to keep tabs on how this form transfers to the national team.

Fulham and West Ham target James McAtee wants Manchester City exit
Fulham and West Ham United have received a major boost in their pursuit of Manchester City attacking sensation James McAtee.

Multiple top clubs from across Europe are interested in acquiring the services of James McAtee. The English youth international could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window.

According to a report from TBR, McAtee wants to part ways with Pep Guardiola's team as he seeks regular first-team action. Fulham and West Ham United are both keen on his signature and their pursuit has been boosted by his desire to leave.

McAtee has been at City since his childhood day. He went up the ranks at some pace and made his debut back in 2021. He has had two impressive loan spells at Sheffield United but even that hasn't helped his cause.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder was expected to be heavily involved in the first-team this season on the back of an impressive pre-season. But, things haven't gone according to plan as he has featured in just seven games.

McAtee is frustrated by the lack of minutes having racked up just over 300 minutes of first-team football. While his contract at City runs until the summer of 2026, he is ready to leave the club in search of regular game time.

The English midfielder has already informed City that he is already to leave the club. While the Manchester-based outfit don't really want to lose out on him, Guardiola has never really stood in the way of a player who wants to leave.

Fulham and West Ham keen on McAtee
While there is no shortage of interest in him, McAtee can choose to continue in England with Fulham and Wes Ham keen on his signature. With Andreas Pereira's future uncertain, the 22-year-old could be a great acquisition for the Cottagers who are pushing for a European spot this time around.

eanwhile, the Hammers are looking for more quality in the final third of the pith as they look to revive themselves in the second half and push for a place in the top half of the table. Julen Lopetegui wants more creativity and McAtee can surely help their cause.

While City will try their best to keep hold of the young sensation, they could let him leave for the right price with Oscar Bobb closing in on a return from injury.

Former Tottenham star wants Fulham manager as Spurs' next boss
Tottenham's journey this season has been anything but smooth.

Under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou, Spurs have showcased moments of dazzling attacking football, yet they find themselves grappling with a series of disappointing results.

While fans admire the Australian's commitment to his bold philosophy, questions are being raised about whether his approach is sustainable in the unforgiving Premier League.

The Boxing Day clash against Nottingham Forest was a stark reminder of Tottenham's struggles. A narrow 1-0 loss marked their fourth defeat in eight matches, highlighting the inconsistency that has marred their campaign.

Despite flashes of brilliance earlier in the season, including a resounding 5-0 win against Southampton, the club now sits 12th in the league—a position unbefitting of their ambitions.

Former players and pundits are voicing their concerns, with one ex-Spurs star suggesting a radical shake-up might be needed to steer the team back on course.

Marco Silva tipped as potential new Tottenham boss
Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara has not held back in his criticism of Postecoglou's tactics.

Speaking on The Sports Bar, O'Hara lamented Spurs' recent performances, pointing to their nine Premier League defeats this season as evidence of deeper issues within the team.

"We've actually fallen apart," O'Hara said. "Everyone is saying we've got injuries, and I get that, but if you look at our team today it's not an injury-hit team. That's not far off our best, apart from our centre-backs in Romero and Van de Ven."

O'Hara also criticised Tottenham's defensive vulnerabilities, blaming Postecoglou's stubbornness in sticking to his high-risk strategy.

Carry on being stubborn and you're going to get the sack, I don't care how far you go. You can't be 11th in the table," he warned.

O'Hara proposed a surprising solution: bringing in Marco Silva, Fulham's disciplined and resourceful manager. "I'm starting to come around to the fact that we should nick Fulham's manager Marco Silva. He's good.

"They are organised, have a structure. They haven't got world-beaters, but they have good players." O'Hara argued.

Is a managerial change needed at Tottenham?
Tottenham's struggles highlight the tension between maintaining a long-term vision and delivering immediate results.

While Postecoglou's attacking philosophy is refreshing, it has exposed defensive frailties, particularly with key players like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven sidelined.

Despite the mounting criticism, Spurs have reaffirmed their commitment to Postecoglou, opting to prioritise stability over reactive changes.

However, with tough fixtures ahead, including a clash against Wolves, the pressure to deliver results is mounting.

Iwobi: 'Silva makes us feel we can fly'
There's a an excellent article in this morning's Mail by Aadam Patel on the genius of Marco Silva following Fulham's fabulous derby win at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

Patel's piece describes how Silva used his pre-match speech to remind his squad of just how long the Fulham faithful have been waiting for a win at their local rivals and there are countless examples of how the Portuguese coach pushes his players for more. Some of his man-management is exceptional, like taking the players out for dinner after a 2-2 draw with Liverpool's ten men earlier this month, and embracing Antonee Robinson's physical strengths despite releasing the full back when he was in charge at Everton.

Silva pushed hard for Alex Iwobi two summers ago and that has proven an inspired decision — with the versatlie ex-Arsenal midfielder playing the finest football of his career. Iwobi gives the man who grabbed him from Goodison Park all the credit:

"He gives everyone that love and pays attention to detail. He treats everyone the same – from the players to the people in the canteen and he always demands the best."

Patel's article concludes by burnishing Silva's credentials – but he has done a fine job at Craven Cottage and long may it continue.

Marco Silva outlines where Fulham have 'really progressed' as Chelsea left wounded
Fulham head into their clash with Bournemouth in buoyant mood following their last-gasp victory over neighbours Chelsea.

Marco Silva believes Fulham have found the right blend as they look to finish the year on a high.

Victory over Chelsea on Boxing Day left the Cottagers in eighth place in the Premier League table after just one defeat in their last 10 matches.

Ahead of Sunday's home clash with another in-form side, Bournemouth, Silva said on fulhamfc.com: "The progression has been really great from ourselves. The way we are responding.

"Another big thing is the results, in London derbies we are 10 unbeaten. We have been strong and are really progressing in those types of games."

Fulham's last six matches have included draws with Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham and the 2-1 victory over Chelsea, courtesy of late goals from Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz.

Now they must try to repeat the feat against Bournemouth, who are flying with four wins from their last six games.

Silva said: "The Chelsea match was a great feeling, the players deserve all the credit.

"We have to praise them for their commitment, their quality, the intensity that they played, the belief that they put on the pitch, the way they controlled really well in some moments the game too, but it's over already and now it's about Bournemouth.

"It's going to be a really big challenge. They're achieving great results away from home against very good sides.

"They are difficult to beat, they are athletic, they are really strong too and it's going to be a really good game. I know they'll come to Craven Cottage to play to win the match.

"We want to finish on a high 2024 and let's hope we can do it."

Midfielder Emile Smith Rowe could miss out again after being sidelined for the last two matches.

Fulham vs. Bournemouth: What feat could the Cottagers achieve for the first time in 92 years?
Fulham will have the chance to achieve a winning feat for the first time in 92 years when they welcome Bournemouth to Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The Cottagers will be in high spirits after coming from behind to claim all three points in their Boxing Day clash against West London neighbours Chelsea.

Harry Wilson scored an 82nd-minute equaliser to cancel out Cole Palmer's first-half opener, before Rodrigo Muniz netted a 95th-minute winner to clinch a 2-1 victory and Fulham's first away win at Stamford Bridge since October 1979.

That extended Fulham's unbeaten run to six Premier League matches, leaving them in eighth place and just one point adrift of Bournemouth, who will enter Sunday's fixture in sixth position.

Like Fulham, Bournemouth are also enjoying a fine run of form, having won four and drawn two of their previous six league matches.

Fulham looking to end 92-year wait in Bournemouth clash
While Fulham will face a tricky test, they will enter their final game of 2024 with the chance to end a 92-year wait for back-to-back league wins against Bournemouth.

After beating the Cherries 3-1 in February, Fulham will be looking to record consecutive head-to-head league victories for the first time since 1932.

Fulham recorded 3-0 victories in December 1931 and April 1932 in the Third Division South against the Cherries, who were known as Bournemouth and Boscombe at the time.

Prior to their home win earlier this year, the Cottagers had gone five matches without recording a victory against the South Coast side.

In fact, the West London club have only won two of their previous 14 competitive meetings with the Cherries (D5, L7).

Could Fulham achieve another impressive feat?
Not only will they be looking to claim consecutive league wins over Bournemouth, Fulham will also be hoping to go seven Premier League games without defeat for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

On that occasion, the Cottagers won just one and drew six matches in an unbeaten run which stretched from August to October 2010.

Fourteen years later, Fulham will be hoping to end 2024 with maximum points after winning their final match of the previous two calendar years.

Marco Silva's side recorded a 2-1 victory against Southampton in their final game of 2022, before they repeated that scoreline against Arsenal at the end of December last year.

If Fulham are to get the better of Bournemouth, they will have to do it without the services of Kenny Tete, Harrison Reed and Reiss Nelson.

Midfielder Sander Berge is also set to miss out, while attacker Emile Smith Rowe remains a doubt after being absent from the last two matchday squads.

Fulham scored historic win at Chelsea on Boxing Day
Bournemouth are unbeaten in six games

Fulham are riding a wave of unrelenting momentum heading into their final game of 2024 against Bournemouth.

The Cottagers are in the highest of spirits entering Sunday's game after they secured a historic victory at Chelsea on Boxing Day. Rodrigo Muniz struck at the last to hand Fulham their first win at Stamford Bridge in 45 years.

"It will be one of the best Boxing Days for the fans in the last 50 years," manager Marco Silva gleefully asserted post-match, with his team climbing up to eighth in the table.

Fulham, like their upcoming opponents, are currently six games unbeaten and they'll usurp sixth-place Bournemouth with a win on home soil.

The Cherries' Boxing Day venture wasn't quite as euphoric as they played out a fairly drab stalemate with Crystal Palace at the Vitality. However, Bournemouth supporters have little to complain about given what their side's already accomplished this term.

These two outfits, given their respective starts to the season, must harbour genuine aspirations of securing European football for 2025/26.

Fulham team news
Fulham are without several key players for Bournemouth's visit, including Antonee Robinson, who's arguably been the Premier League's standout left-back this season. Robinson is suspended after picking up his fifth league booking on Boxing Day.

With Timothy Castagne deputising for the injured Kenny Tete at right-back, Calvin Bassey will likely fill in for the USMNT star.

The hosts are also without Sander Berge due to an ankle injury, while Reiss Nelson is out for a little while with a hamstring issue. Emile Smith Rowe is a doubt with a knock, but there could be a return to the matchday squad for Harrison Reed.

Fulham predicted lineup vs Bournemouth
Fulham predicted lineup vs Bournemouth (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Diop, Andersen, Bassey; Lukic, Cairney; Wilson, Pereira, Iwobi; Muniz.

Bournemouth team news
Bournemouth also have a player suspended on Sunday. The visitors will be without penalty maestro Justin Kluivert due to yellow card accumulation.

Adam Smith is the newest addition to a fairly extensive injury list, but the veteran right-back is only carrying a knock and could be available this weekend.

Marcus Tavernier is set to return from a hamstring injury in the new year, while Alex Scott and Luis Sinisterra are closing in on their respective returns. Julian Araujo and Marcos Senesi have long waits until they're fit and firing again.

Bournemouth predicted lineup vs Fulham
Bournemouth predicted lineup vs Fulham (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Aarons, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Adams, Cook; Semenyo, Billing, Ouattara; Evanilson.

Fulham vs Bournemouth score prediction
This should be an intriguing bout between two of the division's form teams, although both managers will have to adapt and adjust with multiple players absent.

Fulham coped well at Stamford Bridge given their list of injuries, with Marco Silva's appreciation of balance setting the stage for a historic victory. He's coached brilliantly this season, and the battle on the touchline with Andoni Iraola will be decisive in determining Sunday's victor.

Without Tavernier and Kluivert, Bournemouth have lost some of their dynamism and guile, although Evanilson's return to the XI should supply an upsurge from their muted stalemate on Boxing Day.

The fight for control may never be won here between two evenly-matched sides, and a sharing of the spoils only seems fair.

Prediction: Fulham 2-2 Bournemouth

What Fulham coach Marco Silva said about Iwobi ahead of PL clash against Bournemouth
Fulham coach Marco Silva singled out Nigeria national teamer Alex Iwobi for praise before his side's Premier League meeting with Bournemouth at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

The Hale End Academy graduate has demonstrated his versatility this season, featuring in various positions.

Iwobi is playing with so much freedom and has impressed in multiple roles, including central midfield, left midfield, right midfield, left winger and right winger.

Statistically speaking, he's having his best season as a Premier League player with eight goal involvements (5 goals, 3 assists) in eighteen appearances, more than he managed in his first season at Fulham

Although Iwobi has failed to either score or assist in his last four matches in the English top-flight, Silva has highlighted his offensive contributions to the team.

In quotes relayed by the official website of the Cottagers, the Portuguese football tactician stated: "Alex Iwobi has been great. Last season he was top, his best season up until that point, but this season is going to be better for him.

"He's in a very good level, he's scoring, he's assisting, all in different positions."

With Emile Smith Rowe rated as doubtful for the visit of the Cherries, Iwobi will be hoping to start in his favoured attacking midfield role.

Iwobi and his Fulham teammates will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to seven games against Bournemouth.

Edwards reveals why he gave ex-Fulham youngster a surprise Hatters debut in Robins loss
Teenager comes off the bench at Ashton Gate

Luton boss Rob Edwards revealed that some impressive performances in training were the main reason behind winger Josh Phillips' surprise first team debut for the Hatters during their 1-0 defeat at Bristol City on Boxing Day.

The teenager, who was formerly on the books of Fulham, signed for the Hatters in the summer of 2023 following a successful trial, going on to feature for the U21s and Development squad, scoring a superb six goals during a 13-2 victory over Notts County recently. Phillips has also been out on loan with National League South side Bath City, making debut in their 2-0 defeat against Worthing at Twerton Park, going on to feature a further four times for the Romans.

With Luton suffering with injuries once more though, he was named on the bench at Ashton Gate earlier this week, before being introduced for the final few minutes with striker Joe Taylor. Playing out on the left wing, Phillips showed a glimpse of just what Edwards and his coaching staff had seen by sending over a terrific cross that unfortunately none of his team-mates had gambled on, meaning the Hatters left with nothing to show for their efforts once more.
