Our Ground Capacity

My understanding was that the new Riverside Stand would bring our capacity up to 29,000 approx. Yesterday was the first time that The Riverside appeared to be full. However, according to the BBC, yesterday's attendance was only 27,770. Cant believe there were 1200 approx empty seats. Can anyone explain this ?

Do they take the attendance total from tickets sold or people passing through the turnstiles? There were empty seats near me where season ticket holders hadn't attended the game.

A section of seats is taken away from between the away fans and home fans in the Putney End, too, correct? So that subtracts some seats.

I think STs are included on the attendance as they have technically sold that seat even if the ST holder doesn't turn up.

I always thought that was silly, it should be the number that actually go through the turnstile, the attendance is the number that are there not the number of tickets sold.
