Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

Accountants delight, to generate a few more quid for the new ground.
Can't we sell the Riverside to Harrow and Eaton?
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

Third club to do it. The opportunity is there if we want to do it too. Don't think FFP is holding us back, personally.

They'd need to be much higher than the 4th tier to get any reasonable amount from it. It is still checked for fair value.

Fair enough. Chelsea valued their ladies' team franchise at £200m. No idea what ours would be worth. Vaguely remember hearing about 20 years ago that we had a decent ladies team, just assumed that was still the case.

We had the first and only professional ladies team in the country that I was involved with, MAF put up the money to make it happen, we enticed top Norwegian, Swedish players and the great Rachel Yankee. Unfortunately the only other team that was capable of turning professional was Arsenal but they didn't want to. MAF pulled the plug on sponsorship of the team, after that all the top players went and the team's association with FFC came to an end

Sadly she wasn't

Sounds like a way to get round ffp. Personally I believe any ladies team should be part of the parent club and not an asset you can sell on to the clubs owner at a vastly inflated price. It looks like Man City tactics all over again.

£200 million 😂😂😂😂

Yet another sense that FFP is poorly administered at times.  Clubs selling assets to themselves, signing players on 10 year deals, selling players at inflated prices and then buying players at inflated prices from the same club.

Also the very dodgy deals between Marinakis and Textor to Forest's benefit.

I'm glad we haven't sunk so low.

No idea how this practice is legal and allowed. The valuations are ludicrous when compared to the women's teams revenues, attendances etc. Only Arsenal ladies pull in decent crowds. And how can you sell an asset to yourself?

They don't sell the asset to themselves, just to a buyer that's connected in some way such that you can't say it's an arm's length transaction. Think that, like 90% of the outrage on here about FFP, seems just to be a misconception by people reading headlines and not really understanding them.

I've the same view as you about the valuations, no idea how they work them out, but as btffc says above they'll have to be objectively assessed to reflect fair/ market value.

All three clubs sold the women's team to the owning parent company, benefiting the men's team. It's very different to selling to an unrelated third party.

I know that full well but it's still very different from a nonsensical transaction where the transferor and transferee are the same legal person

It's the closest you can get whilst staying within the rules.
