In fairness to Mick, TK and AM pretty much run the club. So they're of course going go get the blame for pretty much everything, quite legitimately. And we're from perfect: old and low value squad, high wage bill, stagnating last couple of seasons, this window panning out as arguably our worst since 2011, no long-term strategy.

Whilst I am inclined to to agree with you - I think there is a plan and strategy and that is , having become a mid table ( ish) club - just try to stay there at minimum cost .

No more yo - yo club and an outside chance of doing something in one of the cups. That's enough excitement for you - humble fans ( and the tourists don't care as long as they get their selfies, popcorn and merch)

As astute businessman and owners they must want to protect their investment and will have an eventual exit strategy . That doesn't mean they will sell tomorrow but will be able to choose their time as long as we stay stable and sustainable.

That isn't a strategy most fans want as it's pretty dull . It's like wetting yourself in an expensive suit - you get a warm wet feeling but no one notices .

I do think they're missing a trick, ie, that with the same outlay, invested more intelligently, they could achieve more.
So obviously that would mean the much-discussed transfer strategy for young, foreign-based players, but other long-term initiatives like free tickets for local kids

When I was at Fulham they were always giving schools tickets, don't know whether they still do. Also we see numerous calls that Alimac must go, but he is doing his job as required by the big boss, which to to run the daily business, the fans have always been second to sustainability, even before the Khans.

I'm sure Alfie is right that sustainability has always come before the fans. So it should be or we would face the danger and jeopardy of the path pursued by people like Risdale. I can't help but think that is the ultimate direction of travel for Forest with Marinakis at the helm - yes they will have some glorious days in the sun - but may fly too close to it and get burned.

As much as I dislike him I can't deny that football and passion for his teams seems to run through his veins. He is a football man - at the helm - leading them from the front . Exciting and very dangerous.

However I can't deny that it would be nice to feel just a little bit of this sort of excitement at Fulham - what with TK's mind on wrestling and AMac's obsession with champagne tourists it all seems miles away from the game I love. Nevermind though  - it doesn't make them bad owners ( at least we will never see TK race onto the pitch to berate Marco )

I suppose it comes down to individually what you want - and how you interpret " ambition ' and " progress "  - when to twist or stick?

It's reasonable if you renew. My girlfriend looked into one restricted view in the Hammersmith End, £900 or so - not justified at all.

Interesting article in Sunday's Observer. Brightons Tony Bloom has a betting advisory and data company called Starlizard. They use an algorithm to weigh up player value and sell on potential. Only a chosen few have access to it. Their system does seem to rely on selling players on quite quickly.

I was speaking to a Brighton fan recently who told me they have made so much money using this system that they have no worries about FFP/PSR and can afford to spend quite a bit of money on players as a result.
Their success in finding players like Alexis Mac Allister,Joao Pedro,Mitoma and Baleba who will both eventually go for big money is also down to their excellent scouting system.
Why can't our scouts find such gems?
