Would anyone take Harvey Elliott back if available?

bencher

Yes, he's a very talented footballer. I've no idea what's going on with him at Villa right now so that would be part of the due diligence. But this is never happening.

I'm not sure the club would welcome him back....Sess going & returning was very different - no fuss, all done very professionally

Agree, probably won't happen, but if available, I'd have him back, even though generally I'm not a big fan of bringing back players.

Interesting situation at Villa.Shows the potential snags for these conditional loan moves.

I believe that if he makes 10 appearences for Villa they have to buy him at season's end for £35million. He has currently made 5 apearences.
What seemed like good deal for Villa (he is a pretty good player), now seems not so good because of a number of possible reasons. One, or a combination of, a) he's not as good as they thought he was, b)they now think they have better answers in his position, c) they can't afford the agreed fee. If they starve him of appearences until January, Liverpool might agree to take him back.
I don't see how we would be involved in any of this. He's not going anywhere on a free.

Where would he play if he did sign

He could do a job in the role that Lukic plays (as a backup) or the one Iwobi is currently excelling in (again, as a backup, on current form).

He's good off the bench, and could be useful playing a role to unlock a goal if we needed one in the last 20 mins. But yeah, funny that he wouldn't be any closer to playing for us than he is for Villa.

Not that any of this would happen.

I don't think he's a lot better than what we already have . But it probably won't ever happen anyway .

Bassey the warrior

It's clear Harvey and Fabio should've stuck around a bit longer, they have stalled.

Colton F.C.

Jao yes, Mitro yes, Fabio maybe, Gingernuts NO!

Logicalman

Not at all.
And if they're asking 35M for him, they can go do one, afaic, I'd rather have Roberts back!
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

AshfordFFC

not for me - especially with the talent that will be in front of him!

Helpful link that explains he's already played for Liverpool and Villa this season, so a move for him in January isn't on the cards.  He's good and with Liverpool not exactly pulling up trees, a switch back might suit all parties.

Will the management and/or fans welcome him back? Let's not forget that part of the reason why Sess (and Palhinha) is so loved here is because he signed a new contract so that we could get the max transfer fee for him from Spurs, something neither Harvey Elliot nor Carvalho did.

I would have Harvey back

To be fair to Carvalho he could have well gone from us in January but stayed and performed admirably until the end of the season.
