If we could travel forward in time to 2045

How do you think Craven Cottage would look ?
I made my first visit to The Enclosure (Stevenage Road Stand) in 1970, and like me it's not ageing too well, for the money it costs for a ticket in there now it's barely fit for purpose,
The Hammersmith End,which is effectively a temporary structure, has got facilities that are barely legal,
So over the next 20 years do you see anything changing, and if so how with so many parts of the stadium listed .
I think it would take Shahid Khan to get very pally with Mayor Khan and find a way to purchase 20 metres of Bishops Park, as unlikely as that is,
So how would you like to see improvements made in the next 20 years.

Don't think I shall be likely to travel to Fulham when I shall be 96......especially as I live in Italy.... ::wink::

I am travelling forward in time to 2045. I hope to arrive in twenty years from now.
Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do.

I'll be pushing 90. But by 2045 I would hope.....

....that the Hammersmith End has been rebuilt with state of the art features including (of course) modern toilets and ticketing that works. Better food and drink options. We will be playing in our 17th consecutive season in the Champions League, having won it three times. And fan ownership.

As an aside for a wishlist for 2045 Manchester City, having been relegated to the 12th tier of English football in 2042 after the conclusion of the "115 charges" case, have just been promoted to the Greater Manchester District League (Northern Section).

I'll leave it to AI which will be running everything by then.

With prices at 20,000 roubles for a pod and the dictatorship only allowing me to travel within a radius of three miles and not at all during curfew I will just follow the AI matches.

Regarding the Stevenage Rd stand, I believe that its the front of the building that faces on to the street that is protected. And while any redevelopment will have to be done sympathetically did MAF not have a plan to build around the Archibald Leitch facade?

Anyone old enough to remember the wood yard behind the H End may know that the owners offered the site to Fulham when they closed down only for Tommy Trinder (the chairman) to dismiss the idea.
What a mistake!

I'm sure someone can confirm the two end stands are technically temporary structures built over the terracing and surely can't remain much longer?

It may be possible to do a deal with the authorities to lease or buy part of Bishops park if its developed similar to the riverside, after all we did lease a part of the Thames to extend the new stand.

Surely the H'end must be next to be rebuilt, maybe extending into the alleyway behind the stand.

At 2045 I'll have just made a cup of tea and be sitting down to watch Shetland on the iPlayer.

After Political upheaval ::cry::  ::cry:: 😉 the cottage will be luxury housing and we will be sharing grounds with Chelsea as their second feeder club.
Oh that was my nightmare last night

Already mentioned that the Stevenage Road stand and toilet facilities around the ground need improvement.

New cantilever roof on the stand, keeping the central gable feature, to take those 13 stanchions at the front away. Redesigned interior featuring escalators and better use of space for catering.

Proper toilets around the whole ground to replace the primitive facilities at the moment.

Guarding the precious legacy of the past in the Cottage and the Stevenage Road stand, but having a free hand at each end of the ground to match the quality of the Riverside.

Quarter to nine.....The Cottage will look majestic in the dark. A few Xmas lights about no doubt.

I would be 100, moaning about the London congestion charges raised to £200 a day, still reading my dog eared TOOFIFs and keeping my wife of 27 waiting at bed time....
