So this season on Christmas Day we are 13th after 17 games, with 23 points. How does this stack up against our previous PL seasons?

Position. Our average position at Christmas in our 19 PL seasons is 13th (we are 13th this season). This is our 4th Pl season when we have been 13th at Christmas. Best position? 5th in 2003, followed by 8th in 2008, and 9th in 2009 and 2024. Worst position? Of course 20th in 2018, followed by 19th in 2013 and 18th in 2020 (all three seasons we were relegated).

Points. Most points (26) at Christmas 2009, followed by 25 in 2003 and 2024. Fewest: just the 10 in 2018 and 2020, and 13 in 2013 (all three seasons we were relegated).

Games played: most played by Christmas are the 19 by Christmas 2002 and 2006. Fewest: the 14 in the Covid season of 2020.

Points per game at Christmas: this season's 1.35 points per game is very good for us. It's only bettered by 2009 (1.53 PPG at Christmas) and 2003 and 2024 (1.47).

Picking up on what Ludlow Richard has been gracious enough to post for stats, I think at his point in the season we should be grateful that we are in 13th place with 23 points.  Yes, things could be a lot worse, but thankfully, it's not. 

So, I hope everyone enjoys their day, and Fulham gets another three points against West Ham.
