I can't call it this season, can you ?

If we can all agree that Wolves and Burnley are down, who do you think will be joining them ?
Relegation was done and dusted this time last year but this year its destined to go down to the wire,
It can surely only be between 4 Club's West Ham
Forest
Leeds
Bournemouth
West Ham have already signed two strikers and have vowed to do "whatever it takes" to survive and Bournemouth are about to lose their best player,
It's a fascinating battle this year and too close to call, but on the final day of the season that game between West Ham and Leeds sticks out like a sore thumb.
I'm pleased we're watching from afar.

As long as its not us then happy to watch the fur fly!

There is still time for the Hammers to escape and there's always a team that goes in to free fall from mid table.

The thing is mid table is very congested at the moment.

Bournemouth do look suspect though.

"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

I'm going for Bournemouth. There are teams I'd rather see relegated but sadly I don't think Bournemouth are cut out for a relegation dogfight and they have sold (or are about to sell) too many of their best players.

It's a really exciting season at both ends of the table. Every game is so competitive.

Even yesterday, we saw two newly promoted sides holding the reigning champions and most expensive squad to the exciting stalemates. Most seasons those games would be 3-0 (or more) walkovers.

We've had a mixed bag of a season, but it's nice to feel relatively comfortable.

Need to ensure we turn over Middlesbrough in the 3rd of the FA Cup, and try and get a good cup run going again.
I know it can sometimes depend on the draw,  but it is time we won the FA Cup, or at least have a dam good go at it.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Was similar last year for most of it too, suggesting perhaps a shift in trend. No outright runaway killer untouchable team, european positions getting pushed harder by more clubs, lots of competition in the middle of the pack. Much more enjoyable as a result. Guess this is part by several seasons of good managers and recruitment by mid level clubs and conversely poor decisions in that regard from the regular top 6ers. Albeit this year currently the top 6 is much more familiar, the fight for 5/6th is not out of reach for many clubs

West Ham are spending fortunes on strikers who don't have good scoring records so I'd still back them, especially as I also see Adama as the worst sort of player to buy when you're in a relegation battle, and he's walking about sulking and not putting a shift in

They will be better when they get Adams back shielding their backline.  If he ever really gets healthy again.

Will they? Their recent struggles started well before Tyler's injury. They'd taken 1 point from the last five matches he'd started prior to the injury.

For it to be any team other than West Ham,  a Forest squad assembled for Europe have to be four points worse over the second half of the season.  Feisty in-form Leeds seven points worse, experienced Bournemouth nine points worse, everyone else it's double figures.  Worse than a fairly terrible West Ham who can't defend corners, have already tried the switch to a conservative manager, have disgruntled fans and cannot generate an atmosphere in their converted athletics track.

Even if a team above them sinks like a stone, it's feasible that Burnley will overtake West Ham during the second half of the season.  They play as a unit and if one particular cog got replaced they could yet experience a bounce.

West Ham are in a predicament.  If they don't get three points against a Wolves team now showing a bit of fight and organisation, their chances will be even slimmer.

I think a comfortable, but declining season is ultimately on the cards. We still just have this barrier between where we are, and the next levels especially in cup runs and against teams around us. Which is fine for us but ultimately a shame.

West Ham will go down. They are the worst team (of those in contention for the 18th place) with the most toxic environment around the club.

It is interesting. Sunderland haven't free fallen as many predicted. Boscombe are struggling and are well in the mix. Leeds seem to be playing quite well and picking up points. Forest are much worse than I expected. As for West Ham I think they have already done too much damage to escape. I actually expect Wolves to beat them and that will just about seal their fate.

West Ham will go and deservedly so. Shite owners, shite ground and all barring a few, shite players. Leeds have found the fight, Bournemouth have just that bit too much quality to go down and Sunderland's early season form will see them right.

I still believe Man City will finally get punished for years of cheating and get automatically relegated...
But then again... I am a dreamer...  :slap:

Burnley and Wolves definitely down. West Ham depends on how the new signings do.

Bournemouth will stay up, they lost three of their back four over the summer so natural to see a drop in performances whilst they gel. Iraola is a good manager though.

Leeds could drop if Calvert-Lewin gets injured, doesn't have the best record.

Would love Forest to go down, can't stand their owner and they would beat our record for highest spend to get relegated.

Until we have another striker and ideally another 8, I won't consider us completely safe. Obviously if Traore leaves we need a winger.

So after all that who's going down with Burnley and Wolves  ?

A good day all round if Wolves get their first win of the season against West Spam. I can see a little trouble if they do despite the incoming transfers.
