How has it got to this? Won the FA Cup playing in Europe but looks like wheels are falling off rapidly?

Glasner confirms he is leaving Palace this summer and Ghehi pulled out of squad tomorrow for premier league fixture against Sunderland. Looks like he is signing for Man City as they have central defensive issues.

Palace fans must be sick of it all. Let's be honest, a club of their stature shouldn't have beaten one of the top clubs in Europe to win in the FA Cup and have such a strong squad as they have. It's not right. Oh and they shouldn't have had such a good manager.

Their supporters do have my sympathy.

It's how top level football is now and will only get worse so sad to see . It's explained soo well by Dave Bassett a few weeks ago in an article he posted in I think daily mail . It's made me think really hard regard re-newing my season ticket next season . It progressively got like this over a number of years . Clubs like palace and us and Brentford for that matter are it seems not allowed to have super players they get snatched by the big boys with money to burn . In today's era we would never have hung on to Johnny hanynes like we did . The money offer is life changing.
1975 just leaving home full of hope

No different to us is it ?
Manager almost out of contract and star player (Wilson) about to become a free agent and nothing their board (or ours) can do about it.

Their name is on the cup but it was good old Stuart Atwell that was the MoTM.

No idea if Glasner was offered a contract or not but at least he has confirmed he's off. Silva has been offered one so sign it or confirm you're off. Don't think that is too difficult to understand even for someone whose English is as bad now as it was 4 years ago.

Does anyone else think Glasner will end up at dis United? (The Manchester one)

Super Mick

What's happening about City's charges? Nobody talks about that anymore while they still spend millions...

Sounds like Mateta could be off in January too.

the money players are on at Palace or Fulham is life changing. But it's never enough for some

Excuse me? £20m for Guehi? Was there some backhanders given or something? That is  ridiculously low price for one of the best defenders in the country.

Contract expires in June. They are taking what they can get before losing him for free.

Ah okay, that explains it then. I can't believe Palace let it get to this stage though, should have sold in the summer if he was adamant about leaving.

Didn't they pull his transfer to Liverpool at the last minute in the Summer. I think he even had a medical there. I guess they would argue he has helped to get them to mid table and presumably safe from relegation so the prize money they will earn evens out the loss of transfer income

The sooner the top clubs get a European super league together, the better, they can all sod off and we can crack on with a level playing field for all.
Guy goes into the doctor's.
"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

Liverpool did a Fulham and fannied around trying to get 10P off and have now lost out to City. That's the way to deal in the transfer window.

I agree - they earn more in one year than many earn in a lifetime of working. I am not sure how they can spend it all but still it seems they demand more and more which only the very biggest clubs can afford. We will never break into that elite 6 or so teams it seems to me. Spuds are 14th in the league but can still splash £35m out for an average footballer

I think he is far too intelligent to be drawn towards that poison chalice. Whilst many manager's believe ( and almost have to ) that they can turn situations and players around - I think he is far too considered -( and lacking in ego ) to fall into that trap.

Trouble is the next tranche of 'big' clubs will get greedy and we'll be back to square one.

Moussa Dembele the 3rd

For some reason I could see Glasner at Arsenal if they some how manage to screw things up and not win the league this year. Maybe it's the vague Wenger resemblance.

As far as how this relates to Silva, I just don't see a big Premier League club coming for him. If he leaves I think it would be for a big Italian club.
