Barrow man sentenced after sending racist abuse to Rodrigo Muniz

Hi folks, I'm a Court Reporter based in Cumbria.

I've just covered the sentencing of a Barrow man who racially abused Rodrigo Muniz.

Well done to Muniz for reporting it. Maybe the racist idiot will think twice about doing something like that again after he does 150 hours of unpaid work.

Interesting post, I certainly hadn't heard anything about this case until reading your report Alec. So pleased the authorities were able to track this vile bigot and bring him to justice, I fear that too often it proves impossible to do so.

Thanks for taking the trouble Alec. I only learnt of this last thing last night. I hope this 'punishment' is properly enforced and the s*** is widely scorned and humiliated.

 At the Cottage tomorrow there should be a big vocal support shown for Rodrigo and his family.

This would have been what was referred to here https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2026/january/22/update-online-abuse-sentencing/ a few days ago. I did wonder what is was all about and it is good to have some context.

TBF I am not too surprised, given Brown is a Liverpool supporter.
 Before our home game against Liverpool, a bunch of them piled into Fishers, the fish and chip shop on Fulham High Street and nicked the remaining reserved seats. Some of the stuff they were saying was not OK.
