Borussia Dortmund and Fulham enter two-horse race for £30M Manchester City forward
Oscar Bobb is likely to leave Manchester City in January as Borussia Dortmund and Fulham fight it out for the 22-year-old forward, as per a new report.

The Norway international has failed to hit the mark for Pep Guardiola this term and after recurring injury setbacks since the start of the 2025-26 season, Bobb will be allowed to leave his boyhood club in the final weeks of the ongoing transfer window.

City have strengthened their attacking ranks with the stellar addition of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth as they look to trim a seven point deficit to Premier League leaders Arsenal and vie for silverware on four fronts in the second half of the season.

With two wins in their last seven games in all competitions, Guardiola and co are in desperate need of a change of fortunes if they are to challenge Mikel Arteta's formidable Gunners in the title race, having failed to win in the Premier League since a hard-fought win away at Nottingham Forest on December 27.

A 3-1 defeat to Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night has raised further questions over this City side, whose leadership group have since spent over £10,000 to refund 374 travelling fans their matchday ticket costs in the Arctic Circle.

Guardiola is expected to reap the rewards of City's January transfer business in the second half of the season, with Marc Guehi set to make his club debut after completing a £20 million transfer from Crystal Palace on Monday.

City are still missing a long list of key names but there is enough firepower in the available group to beat Wolves on Saturday, with Semenyo also expected to return to the starting XI after missing the trip to Scandinavia in midweek.

Executives at the Etihad Stadium are not expected to make any major additions to the squad in the final weeks of the window, though the club are assessing the possibility of shoring up their right-back options with the potential signing of Feyenoord teenager Givairo Read.

Departures from the senior ranks are set to take centre stage in what remains of the window, with Mail Sport's Jack Gaughan reporting that Fulham have emerged as a strong contender to sign Oscar Bobb on a permanent deal.

Fulham manager Marco Silva is spearheading the west London club's interest in the Norway international, who is valued at £30 million by Manchester City and is expected to find a new club by deadline day.

Borussia Dortmund also remain interested in the City academy graduate but the finances involved in as potential deal have put off the German outfit, who also have the option of taking Bobb on loan this month should they commit to a permanent purchase at the end of the season.

City have struggled to find the back of the net when it has mattered this month and despite putting 10 past a sorry Exeter City side in the FA Cup, Guardiola will be desperate to see his side soon return to their imperious selves in the final third – starting with Wolves on Saturday.

'Yes' - Brighton confirm another injury boost for Fulham trip
Fulham vs Brighton in the Premier League from Craven Cottage - Saturday, 3pm

Brighton received an injury boost ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Fulham.

The Seagulls have suffered with injury and illness of late and Maxium De Cuyper had been ruled out with a virus.

"Maxim De Cuyper will be back," said Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler.

"We have survived this phase with players who were sick and ill. Overall we are quite good on availability [ahead of Fulham]."

De Cuyper will be now be an option down the left flank and can operate at left back or on the left wing.

Right back Mats Wieffer remains sidelined with a toe injury an injury that kept Ferdi Kadioglu out for most of last season.

"It's not the same," said Hurzeler. "So it's in the same area but it's definitely not the same injury and we see improvement regarding his health and now we try to get him back on the pitch but it's definitely not the same and I hope that he will be back soon."

Meanwhile, Yankuba Minteh will be assessed ahead of Fulham. The Gambian winger impressed from the bench against Bournemouth but may not be fit enough to start at Craven Cottage.

"Yeah, that's for example one player we need to manage," Hurzeler added.

"We don't know if he's able to start or not start. He came back after a small issue so it's definitely someone we need to manage at the moment and therefore that's a good example what I meant, with the individual players who are not on the highest level and that's what we have to work on and we have to get them back on track."

Solly March getting closer
Solly March (knee), Adam Webster (knee) and Stefanos Tzimas (knee) are the long term absentees.

March is however getting closer. "He's back in training, he trained yesterday with the first team," Hurzeler confirmed.

"He made a great appearance, he looked quite sharp so we're all quite happy.

"But now it's very important that we don't immediately put pressure on him, that we don't write he's back in one week.

" I think this needs time, we need to go step by step and then we all know that Solly is a player from Brighton, he has a big history for this club and he can be a big player for us also this season, but let's be patient."

Fulham facing renewed competition for versatile Premier League star
Borussia Dortmund have reviewed their previous interest in Oscar Bobb and have now decided to reignite their pursuit of the Manchester City attacker. The Norwegian is expected to leave the Premier League champions after being informed that his opportunities would be limited following the arrival of Antoine Semenyo. With game time set to be scarce if he remains, Bobb has begun working on securing a move away from the club.

Manchester City are keen for the player to move on, and his situation has attracted interest from several clubs. Bobb understands that regular football is crucial at this stage of his career, and he is prepared to take the next step to ensure consistent minutes. This has opened the door to both domestic and European options as he considers his future.

Fulham move puts pressure on Dortmund
Fulham have emerged as a serious contender for Bobb's signature and have already tabled a bid to Manchester City. The Premier League side believes he is among the finest talents they could add to their squad and is confident they can provide him with the platform to prove his quality in England. Their approach has placed them firmly in the race and shifted the dynamic surrounding his potential departure.

Before Fulham's interest became concrete, Bobb had been open to a move to Borussia Dortmund. The German club have followed him closely for a long period and viewed him as a player who could fit well into their system. However, as Fulham stepped up their efforts, Dortmund's involvement appeared to cool temporarily.

Dortmund renew talks amid City demands
According to Sporten, Borussia Dortmund have now decided to make a fresh approach for Bobb. Their plan is to sign him on an initial loan deal that would include an option to make the move permanent. This structure reflects Dortmund's cautious approach as they assess his long-term suitability.

Manchester City, however, prefer a permanent departure and may be reluctant to accept another temporary solution. This difference in expectations could complicate negotiations, particularly if Dortmund are unwilling to commit to a firm obligation to buy in the summer. City is keen to resolve the situation decisively and may prioritise offers that guarantee a permanent transfer.

As talks continue, Bobb's future remains uncertain. With Fulham pushing for a deal and Dortmund back in contention, the coming weeks are likely to be decisive in determining where the Norwegian will continue his career.

Matchday Preview: Brighton
🆚 Brighton & Hove Albion
🏟 Craven Cottage
🏆 Premier League
🗓 Saturday 24th January
⏰ 3pm

The opposition

No side has drawn more Premier League matches than Brighton's nine this season, with one of those coming on Monday when teenage striker Charalampos Kostoulas scored a remarkable overhead kick in stoppage time to snatch a point against Bournemouth at the Amex Stadium. That result means it's just one win in the last nine matches for the Seagulls, but they remain in a healthy enough position, just a point and a place behind Fulham in the standings.

Team news

🤍 Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze are back in the squad following the conclusion of AFCON, but Saša Lukić picked up an injury at Elland Road and will miss the game.

🟡  Maxim De Cuyper is back after missing the Bournemouth draw through illness, but a toe complaint continues to rule out Mats Wieffer.

A limited number of tickets remain available for this fixture.

Programme

With Fulham sitting just five points off the top four, the temptation to talk about European football is inevitable. Bernd Leno, however, remains cautious. Consistency, rather than lofty targets, is the focus inside the dressing room.

"That could be the cherry on the cake," he tells the official matchday programme for the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion. "But our aim is to have an even better season than last year when we got 54 points. That would be absolutely amazing.

"The Premier League is so tight. You lose two games and you're 13th or 14th. You win two games and you're sixth, seventh or eighth.

"We never speak about big aims. We go game by game. Even in the cup, we don't speak about Wembley. When it's the Quarter-Final, maybe then. But not now."

Elsewhere in the 104-page publication, Marco Silva, Tom Cairney and Robert Wilson pen their regular columns, while Timothy Castagne lifts the lid on his teammates and Rob Scott is the next subject in our Cult Heroes series.

The programme will be on sale around the ground on Saturday, priced £4, or available to purchase online.

Silva says his future has nothing to do with Wilson's contract talks
Marco Silva has insisted that his own future is not connected to the issue of Harry Wilson's.

Both winger Wilson and boss Silva are in the final months of their contracts at Fulham and have so far not agreed new deals.

It was reported that talks have been put on hold with Wilson until he knows what his manager's plans are.

But Silva said: "Not at all. I don't know where it comes from – it's just a nice way, and probably the easiest way to start to put something out.

"I don't know if it's just a rumour. I don't believe that something like that will come from Harry or from his camp really.

"I'm 100% sure that Harry isn't going to use any excuse, if he needs any excuse. A professional like him is not going to need any excuse to take care of his future."

Silva also confirmed that Sasa Lukic is out with a "serious" hamstring injury.

The midfielder was taken off against Leeds last week.

Silva said: "Difficult moment for Lukic. Painful. Difficult to walk

"A serious injury, so difficult to define a timescale. Maybe four to five weeks he will be out of the plans for the game."

Team News: Lukić set for spell out
Fulham will be without the services of Saša Lukić for our upcoming fixtures after the midfielder picked up a hamstring injury in Leeds.

It makes the return of Alex Iwobi – along with Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze – all the more timely, but it's a blow nonetheless.

"It was a difficult moment for him," Marco Silva said in his pre-Brighton press conference. "After the game it was painful, was difficult even to walk, and the feedback just confirmed that it was a serious injury.

"It's going to be difficult to define a clear timescale – more than four weeks probably out, four to five weeks he's going to be out of our plans for the games.

"He's another big player for us that is going to be out – it's a moment for the others to step in. It's our story so far this season."

In more positive news, Kenny Tete and Rodrigo Muniz are back in training, with one of them potentially making an appearance against Brighton this weekend.

"Rodrigo next week is going to give other steps in the direction of what is important for him to be ready," Silva explained. "If you ask me right now, next week he's probably not going to be in contention [to face Manchester United].

"From the next week, if he's going to react well, probably have him soon in contention. But next week, for sure not.

"About Kenny – he's training with the team. Depending on my decision, he can be in contention for tomorrow."

From the press box: Silva and board still aligned as they seek January solutions
JK updates us from the latest Marco Silva press conference.

As Fulham look to add to their squad before the transfer deadline, there is still the small matter of Premier League football to play. Brighton visit the Cottage tomorrow, but in Marco Silva's press conference, transfers and contracts were the questions on the journalists' lips.

We'll start with team news - a bitter blow for Fulham and Sasa Lukic. The Serbian picked up a hamstring injury last week against Leeds and could be on the sidelines for four-to-five weeks.

Silva: "Difficult moment for Lukic. Painful. Difficult to walk. A serious injury, difficult to define a timescale. Maybe four-to-five weeks he will be out of the plans for the game. ESR - some fatigue last week, he's in contention this weekend."

In better news, Kenny Tete is available, as are the three Nigerian members of the squad following AFCON.

If all goes to plan, the only absentees from the squad tomorrow will be Lukic and Rodrigo Muniz. The Brazilian is closer to a return, with Silva saying he could be in contention soon.

Obvious questions around a certain Oscar Bobb were put to Silva, but as expected, he refused to talk about a player who was not a Fulham player. As it stands, Fulham are still in the driving seat, and confident that they can get the Manchester City winger's signature.

Silva also laughed off reports that Wilson's future depends on what the Fulham manager does in terms of his future. He played down those rumours.

"Not at all.

I think my main takeaway from today's press conference was how Silva answered questions on transfers. He seemed upbeat, and stressed how he and the board are still on the same page.

"What I can say is that we were aligned on everything we wanted to achieve in January.

"As I've said before, the January transfer window is never easy. If the summer window is challenging, you can imagine how difficult January is when you want players who can make an immediate impact.

"Usually, those players are settled at good clubs where they are performing well. Naturally, it's hard for those clubs to let them go. That's why it's more difficult.

"We remain aligned, and I truly believe the club is doing everything possible to implement the plan and structure we agreed on."

I feel good about the short and long term future of the club, and let's hope we can bounce back from last week with a win against Brighton.

Enjoy the game, and COYW!

Pre-Brighton Press Conference
Marco Silva sees a strong team in Brighton & Hove Albion, but hopes Fulham can continue our decent record against them this Saturday.

A 98th minute Joao Pedro penalty last year is the only time we've tasted defeat in 11 Premier League meetings with the Seagulls.

"Difficult game, good side, well managed, a lot of individual quality solutions," Silva said. "They are capable of changing completely the frontline from one game to the other, and you still see the quality there.

"Always throughout the game, they are able to change three, four players in their attack line – that shows the quality, the depth that they have in their squad.

"They are very dangerous, they have the ability to be more direct in certain moments, but at the same time they are able to build well their attacking moments.

"It's going to be a good game, I believe. Both teams normally approach the game to win. Normally, there are goals when we face each other. It's going to be another tough one.

"We have been achieving good results against them, our record is good because we have been doing the right things, and let's hope tomorrow we can do the right things again."

Fulham have already registered six Premier League victories at Craven Cottage this season, and our Head Coach knows the value of running out in front of our own fans.

"Playing at home, the fans are going to play their part," he explained. "They have been doing great and helping the team to be strong enough at home to get good results.

"We hope the same thing will happen again, and that our stadium will be really bouncing, to push the team forward, to make things difficult for the opposition.

"And we have to do our part as well to boost them and to make them to believe the way we are going to perform is going to be enough to win a difficult match."

Fulham vs Brighton & Hove Albion: Preview and Prediction
Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion find themselves in a sensitive position with regard to their European ambitions as the two teams meet at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

In football, good things often come to a swift end, and that is precisely what happened with Fulham's tremendous six-game unbeaten run as they look to get back on track against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.

The Cottagers had picked up good form and momentum during the festive period, in which they had some of their notable stars missing owing to the AFCON. As they went away to Leeds United, the Cottagers were very close to extending their unbeaten run to seven games, only for a late Lukas Nmecha winner to end that run.

The defeat saw Daniel Farke's men gather momentum in their bid to climb further away from the relegation zone, but for Fulham it was a blow to their European ambitions. The Cottagers will look to get that defeat out of their minds as they return to home comforts, where they have had a good record all season.

Fulham have won six of their 11 games at Craven Cottage this term, while they have also been unbeaten against Brighton in their last five home games in the league. Meanwhile, Fabian Hurzeler has a big task on his hands to revive Brighton's European dreams.

The Seagulls have stitched together a five-game unbeaten run across all competitions since their defeat to Arsenal, including a stellar FA Cup win over Manchester United at Old Trafford. However, they have only one victory in their last nine Premier League games to show for their cause, which needs great improvement.

Brighton & Hove Albion have also drawn three of their last four games in the league, including stalemates against West Ham United, Manchester City and Bournemouth. The most recent game was last weekend, when it took a late overhead kick led equaliser from teenager Charalampos Kostoulas to salvage a point.

Brighton have European ambitions, and heading into the weekend, they are only five points behind fifth-placed Manchester United. There is a big chance for Brighton to break into one of those continental positions, and they must target a win over Fulham away from home to begin a good run of games.

Team News & Tactics

Fulham
To begin the Fulham update, Marco Silva has been boosted by the returns of his AFCON stars, including Alex Iwobi, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Calvin Bassey. However, Sasa Lukic was forced off with a muscle problem in the loss to Leeds United, as he has joined Rodrigo Muniz in the treatment room.

There are further doubts with Kenny Tete and Emile Smith Rowe, with the duo set to be assessed before the game to determine their participation. Then there are those pushing to get involved in the team from the start, with the likes of Chukwueze, Kevin, Ryan Sessegnon and Adama Traore all vying for a place. However, one player who is expected to start is star attacker Harry Wilson, while Raul Jimenez will certainly lead the line for the Cottagers.

Bassey might return to the defensive setup alongside Joachim Andersen, while Timothy Castagne might start at right-back in place of Tete. Sander Berge might have Iwobi for company in the central areas, while Wilson might operate in the No.10 role. Sessegnon and Chukwueze might start in the wide areas with Jimenez leading the line.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Iwobi; Sessegnon, Wilson, Chukwueze; Jimenez

Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton have their injury woes too, with Mats Wieffer, Solly March, Adam Webster, and Stefanos Tzimas all sidelined. There are further doubts with Maxim De Cuyper, and he will be assessed before the game to determine his participation.

There is also the chance for Fabian Hurzeler to start with Carlos Baleba and Yasin Ayari as his midfield duo for the weekend. However, Jack Hinshelwood and Pascal Gross are also in contention for the roles.

Yankuba Minteh could occupy the wide role with Kaoru Mitoma on the left wing, while Danny Welbeck could lead the line once again for Brighton against Fulham this weekend. Georginio Rutter could be an option on the bench for Hurzeler.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Veltman, van Hecke, Dunk, Kadioglu; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Gomez, Mitoma; Welbeck

Key Stats

Fulham have won five of their last six home matches against Brighton & Hove Albion in all competitions.
Fulham have lost just one of their last even games.
Brighton & Hove Albion have one win in their last nine Premier League games. However, the Seagulls are unbeaten in their last 5 games across all competitions.
Brighton & Hove Albion have won just two of their last 18 Premier League away games against London sides (D7 L9), with those wins coming at Spurs in May last season, and Chelsea in September.
Only Aston Villa (180) and Tottenham (178) have had more high turnovers against them than Fulham (162) in the Premier League this season, while at the other end of the pitch the Cottagers have forced fewer high turnovers than any other side (91).

Player to Watch

Harry Wilson
The attacker continues to be in the centre of his contractual situation as there are doubts whether he would leave at the end of the season when his deal with Fulham expires in the summer. However, on the field, he remains a key man for Marco Silva, and the manager would want his attacker in top form.

With Fulham eager to get back into the European places, the gap is still too short for them to recover. However, for Silva's side to get back into the running, they must forget the painful late loss against Leeds United and have top players like Wilson in top form. That is also why he is a top candidate to be a budget buy in FPL in Gameweek 23.

Prediction

Fulham 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton & Hove Albion are in a decent vein of form, but they have shown plenty of inconsistencies over the last many games. One win in their last nine Premier League games is a big indicator that they are not guaranteed to win any game, and that might be the case with the upcoming trip to Fulham.

The Cottagers, on the other hand, have been in a good run of form until their loss last weekend. Given how strong they have been at Craven Cottage, it is only logical to expect them to win this one against Brighton at the weekend. The Hard Tackle predicts a hard-fought 2-1 victory for Marco Silva and his charges.

New deal for Cairney
The Club is delighted to announce that Tom Cairney has signed a contract to remain at Fulham for a further season.

The deal takes our Captain into a 12th campaign, keeping him at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2027.

Speaking to FFCtv, Cairney said: "This is my club. This is where I want to be. As long as I keep playing, affecting games, and helping the Club on and off the pitch, then I'll stay as long as possible.

"I said last year that I wanted to stay for a long time, and this year's no different. I've loved being here, I've loved playing here. It's a special thing, my longevity here and the things we've done together, and are still doing together."

Tony Khan added: "I am thrilled that Tom Cairney has signed an extension with Fulham and that he will play his 12th season with us!

"Tom joined us in the summer of 2015 and has played an integral part in some of Fulham's finest moments, with vital goals, distinguished leadership and with his true passion for the Club. Tom delivers time and time again for the supporters he appreciates so much.

"Congratulations, Tom! Come on Fulham!"

Cairney continues to play a vital role in Marco Silva's squad, featuring 18 times so far this season. 2026 has been particularly productive for the skipper, with goal contributions against both Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough, while also starting the Liverpool draw and Chelsea win.

His excellent strike at Selhurst Park means he's just two goals shy of a half century for the Club, while he has now racked up 372 appearances, with the Boro match moving him above Sir Bobby Robson in our all-time appearances list.

Cairney Signs New Fulham Deal
Blues target Tom Cairney has signed a new contract with Fulham, which runs to the summer of 2027.

Town made an enquiry to the Cottagers earlier in the window but the 35-year-old always seemed likely to stay with the Premier League side, where he is captain and has been playing since 2015.

"This is my club. This is where I want to be," the former Scotland international told FFCtv. "As long as I keep playing, affecting games and helping the club on and off the pitch, then I'll stay as long as possible.

"I said last year that I wanted to stay for a long time and this year's no different. I've loved being here, I've loved playing here.

Fulham v Brighton & Hove Albion: Key stats and talking points
Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion will be out to break free of the Premier League's mid-table maelstrom when they meet at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Both teams saw dramatic late goals go in in their respective games last week. Fulham conceded a stoppage-time strike to lose 1-0 at Leeds United, while Brighton salvaged a point against Bournemouth thanks to an overhead kick from Charalampos Kostoulas.

Sitting 11th and 12th going into the weekend's fixtures, victory for either side would put them back in touch with the European places.

Fulham on the back foot
Fulham's six-game unbeaten run was ended by Leeds last time out and there is plenty for head coach Marco Silva to ponder.

Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey are back from the Africa Cup of Nations, and the Portuguese coach will be hopeful they can get Fulham on the front foot in games.

Off the ball this season, Fulham have been ponderous for large parts, with their 91 high turnovers – the amount of times they've earned possession in open play within 40 metres of the opponent's goal – comfortably the lowest of any team in the league.

They are also bottom for pressed sequences, a measure of how effectively a team disrupts their opponents' ability to play out from the back.

Much of the off-the-ball intensity is initiated by the forward line and, in 34-year-old Raul Jimenez, Fulham may not have the most dynamic pressing trigger.

The Mexico international has been valuable to the team with his goalscoring this season, though. All five of his strikes this campaign have put the team ahead – the highest 100% record of any player in the league in that category.

Seagulls' subs saving the day
There have been plenty of times in his second season in charge that head coach Fabian Hurzeler has failed to get things right from the start for Brighton. Often, though, he has been able to salvage matches with his in-game acumen.

Kostoulas' goal on Monday night was the ninth scored by a Seagulls substitute this season and the 14th goal involvement from a player coming off the bench. Brighton lead the way in both categories.

They have also made the joint most substitutions by any team in the Premier League this season. The only side that can match their 104 changes across 22 games so far are Fulham.

Last season, it was Silva who made the most effective changes in the Premier League, with 17 of their goals coming from substitutes. Brighton were second with 15.

So while things could start slowly on Saturday, both coaches have proven themselves well capable of altering the course of a contest.

Cairney signs new Fulham contract
Tom Cairney has signed a new one-year contract at Fulham.

The club captain, who this week turned 35, is a huge favourite among fans and is set for a 12th season at Craven Cottage, having been signed in 2015.

Cairney's contract was due to expire this summer and Ipswich were keen to sign him during this month's transfer window.

But Fulham wanted him to stay and he is still seen as an integral part of the squad, having made 14 Premier League appearances already this season.

"This is my club. This is where I want to be," said Cairney.

"As long as I keep playing, affecting games, and helping the club on and off the pitch, then I'll stay as long as possible.

"I said last year that I wanted to stay for a long time, and this year's no different.

"I've loved being here. I've loved playing here. It's a special thing, my longevity here and the things we've done together, and are still doing together."

Tom Cairney: Fulham captain signs fresh contract extension
A second contract extension for the Fulham captain in less than a year

Fulham captain Tom Cairney has signed a brand new contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2027.

Cairney, who signed a one-year deal back in July, will continue his decade-long association with the west London outfit, potentially finishing his career with the Cottagers.

The midfielder has made 372 appearances for Fulham and has scored 48 goals since arriving from Blackburn Rovers in 2015.

Cairney has helped Fulham win promotion to the Premier League twice, scoring the winning goal as the Cottagers beat Aston Villa in the Championship play-off final in 2018.

Captain since 2017, 35-year-old Cairney played a bit part role for Fulham last season but netted a memorable header away at Brentford as Fulham secured a first league double over their west London rivals in more than 70 years.

This season, Cairney made 18 appearances across all competitions, netting a stunning goal in the draw against Crystal Palace, while claiming an assist in the FA Cup third round win over Middlesbrough.

"This is my club. This is where I want to be. As long as I keep playing, affecting games, and helping the Club on and off the pitch, then I'll stay as long as possible," Cairney said.

"I said last year that I wanted to stay for a long time, and this year's no different. I've loved being here, I've loved playing here.

"It's a special thing, my longevity here and the things we've done together, and are still doing together."

Fulham's sporting director Tony Khan added: "I am thrilled that Tom Cairney has signed an extension with Fulham and that he will play his 12th season with us!

"Tom joined us in the summer of 2015 and has played an integral part in some of Fulham's finest moments, with vital goals, distinguished leadership and with his true passion for the Club. Tom delivers time and time again for the supporters he appreciates so much.

Tom Cairney hails "special" Fulham association as captain signs new deal to extend Craven Cottage stay
Fulham captain Tom Cairney has signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until the summer of 2027.

Cairney's previous deal was set to expire at the end of the season, leading to doubt over his future with the Cottagers.

However, he has now demonstrated his commitment to the club by penning an extension until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

The deal will see Cairney extend his long stay at Craven Cottage into a 12th year, after joining the club from Blackburn Rovers in 2005.

Cairney expresses delight at Fulham extension
"This is my club," Cairney told FFCtv. "This is where I want to be. As long as I keep playing, affecting games, and helping the club on and off the pitch, then I'll stay as long as possible."

"I said last year that I wanted to stay for a long time, and this year's no different.

"I've loved being here, I've loved playing here. It's a special thing, my longevity here and the things we've done together, and are still doing together."

Cairney has featured in 372 competitive matches during his time with Fulham, including 18 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign.

The 35-year-old will be hoping to add to his appearance tally in Saturday's Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Which Fulham players are out of contract at the end of the season?
While Fulham have secured Cairney's services for at least one more season, there are still a number of players who are out of contract at the end of the current campaign.

Notably, experienced striker Raul Jimenez and attacker Harry Wilson are among those who are nearing the end of their deals.

Recent reports have claimed that contract talks with Wilson have been put on hold, with the Welshman deliberating over the next steps of his career.

Adama Traore is another player whose contract expires in the summer, but there is a possibility that he could depart in the current transfer window.

Goalkeeper Steven Benda and defender Ryan Sessegnon have also entered the final six months of their deals, although both of their contracts contain options to extend by a further year.

'Three big players' - Fulham manager reacts to return of Iwobi, Chukwueze, Bassey from Afcon
Fulham manager Marco Silva has expressed delight with the return of Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Calvin Bassey, describing the trio as 'three very good players' ahead of the club's Premier League clash against Brighton.

The Nigerian internationals recently concluded their AFCON campaign in Morocco, where they played key roles in Nigeria's bronze-medal finish, following a 4-2 win over Egypt on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time.

Iwobi, Chukwueze and Bassey rejoined the Fulham squad in training this week, boosting preparations for Saturday's league encounter.

Speaking to FFCtv, Silva admitted their absence had been felt over the past weeks, particularly in terms of intensity and competitiveness within the squad.

"We were missing a competitive week. Believe me in the past eight or nine weeks we have been missing this type of week that we had in preparation for Brighton," Silva said.

"Senior players around, competitive, loud sessions and it is what we need for each player to reach the level to play in the way we want. It was a good week."

The Portuguese tactician went on to highlight the influence of the Nigerian trio beyond their on-field contributions.

"Three good players, not just individual qualities. When they are around, off the pitch, you feel that they are around. Definitely, the three big players for us," he added.

The Super Eagles trio have missed Fulham's last six Premier League matches due to their involvement at the AFCON tournament.

However, they will be hoping to make an instant impact on their return and inspire Fulham to a crucial victory over Brighton at Craven Cottage.

Marco Silva banks on these Nigerian stars for Fulham's Brighton test
Fulham head coach Marco Silva has revealed his delight at the inclusion of three Super Eagles stars ahead of his side's clash against Brighton and Hove Albion this evening, Soccernet.ng reports.

Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze were all heavily involved with Nigeria at the AFCON 2025 tournament.

While Iwobi and Bassey were undisputed starters in Morocco, Chukwueze was relegated to a squad player role under Eric Chelle.

Marco Silva previously mentioned his team would be stronger with the Nigerian trio, and has now banked on them ahead of their clash against Brighton.

Marco Silva banks on Nigerian trio for Fulham's Brighton test
In the absence of the Super Eagles stars, Fulham won three games, drew three games and lost one. Marco Silva is now hoping their arrival comes with some consistency in team results.

"Definitely, of course, it's been nice to have them back," the Portuguese tactician said in his game preview as revealed on Fulham's official website.

"We were missing the competitive week, and the last eight or nine weeks, we have been missing these types of weeks that we had.

"We had in preparation for Brighton. Senior players around, good sessions, and that's all we need really to reach the level we want and should be.

"Three good players, as you know, but it's not just about their individual qualities; they're loud off the pitch. You can feel they're around. They're big players for us

"The others stayed here, they did great as well, they coped with the situation in a great way. It's all very important.

"The team is getting into better conditions, and it's been a completely different week. The feeling around the place is good," Marco Silva concluded.

While Fulham are climbing up the Premier League table, they stand the risk of losing their head coach to bigger sides as his contract expires in the summer and talks about a renewal have stalled.
