These signings have to be the domino that gets Marco (then Harry) to sign

The striker can wait as far as I'm concerned with Rodrigo fit again in a couple of weeks, a midfielder should be the priority now over the remaining days

Sorry, there is no guarantee Muniz will not have a reaction to his injury so another striker needed as far as I'm concerned.

FFC007

That would be one hell of a signing....

I get the desire for a striker but I think that will wait until the summer now. Personally I see a long term replacement for TC as the biggest priority, whether Angel Gomes is that player I don't know but hopefully we will see Marco's preferred option in due course.

I'm not sure we need an attacking midfielder, when I think of an attacking midfielder I think of ESR, King and Iwobi. But I suppose it depends on your definition. I think someone similar to Danny Murphy is what are missing in the centre of the park someone who can do both.

Murphy was a player of such quality, if we can get someone half as good I'd be delighted. Completely agree it would top this team off very nicely.

Agreed. We cannot be sure Muniz will stay fit. If up to me, I'd send JKA back to Bayern and

We really need a striker though.Raul is fine as a back up but cannot continue to play every game. Muniz is made of glass and JKA isn't rated. I'd send him back to Bayern. Get another one in on loan (ideally) with an option on deadline day.

Angus Telford

I don't think we "need" anyone right now. Players like Cairney, Raul and Tete/Castagne will be fine until the summer. But we do need to replace at couple of them then, and after seeing so many points dropped over the years in August/September whilst we waited for deadline day signings to adapt, it would be great to get another one in now, yes chipping in for a European push this season but also being fully ready for the start of next season. Then in the summer we've just got a bit of light long-term succession planning to do, so can actually justify biding our time for once.

Silva sounds very upbeat in his press conference to be honest. Seems to totally understand the realities of the situation and doesn't seem too on edge about the prospect of not getting deals in if they aren't the "right" ones. Confident in the group he has.

Pure speculation my end but feels like maybe he gets the realities of the business side a bit more from the way he speaks on it these days. Clearly very happy with Bobb. We're evidentally trying to get decent deals in without getting ripped off. If it doesn't happen, he seems pretty content about it.

regarding contract being about what we do in january - "no not at all"

Woodlawn

Bowie has left Hibs for a substantial fee,of which we get a bonus payment enough to get the American signed

I agree we don't necessarily need to make signings. It's quite a rare and a nice position to be in. My only concern is we can't guarantee being in such a good position in future so now seems like the best opportunity we have to attract the better players and achieve something. If we want to 'push on', that means qualifying for Europe and having a quality squad to compete on all fronts. We were close last year until Muniz was injured and missed the opportunity as we didn't have sufficient cover. Still, I'd rather we made the right signings than sign players for the sake of it just because the window is open.

Murphy was probably the best signing we made in the last 20 years

Me as well.  Holding.   Not sure our mid is defensively sound.

Rumours of Louza from Watford not much credibility though

What do you think about the midfield? I still feel we're a little short there. I guess it suggests Silva has some confidence in Iwobi to do a job there.

A Dembele type and we would really be rolling.

I like our players there, but it's an area I think due a slight refresh / upgrade.

Agreed. Other competitors are Schwarzer on a free, Hangeland for 2.5m, Hughes for 1m.

I'd really like to ESR tried in that role, now we have Bobb and King also competing for #10 potentially. Anyway between Berge, Lukic, Iwobi and Cairney (as supersub) I think we have enough to compete for now. IMHO.

FFC007

One more in midfield and a striker and I'll be happy.

The champions league revenue next season will be a huge boost!  ::wine::  ::wine::
