What a stinker, one instance before he got booked he took a player out and wasn't even looking at the ball . Then he's on his back for 5 mins , Silva decides to finally bring on Bassey but oh wait Cuenca decides he's ok , so Silva decides to leave the idiot on even though he's been booked and supposedly injured even though he's total crap.To top it off Silva brings on subs just before a crucial corner when the players should be concentrating.
What a loving joke.

Is this Cuenca, the Fulham centre back that you're on about? I take it you don't watch much football?

Cuenca's been generally steady but is capable of doing something absolutely idiotic like vs Palace and Saturday vs Everton taking out players without looking at the ball even though he was fully capable of getting to the ball. Neither Bassey nor current Cuenca is making me feel like we're capable of getting clean sheets.

He's serviceable, though I prefer watching Bassey.

Regarding his extended period of horizontality on Saturday, I suspect he was told to stay down whilst Silva tried to solve some tactical problems with key players on the sidelines.  Didn't work, but not really Cuenca's fault and the ref not letting him back on for ages was a rebuke towards Silva.

We've got four good CBs, time for some rotation, though the real problem is immediately ahead of them.  Progression and second-ball winning currently weak, instilling confidence in opponents.

I find it so odd that Bassey gets away with error after error but people still want him in the team. It probably wasn't a coincidence that our defense tightened up a bit and we went on a good run of results once Bassey went off to AFCON.

Cuenca is a very decent cb, passes the ball better than Bassey, heads the ball better, loses the ball less when moving with the ball and makes last ditch tackles better. Bassey clearly stronger, but I'm not sure who'd win in a footrace.

Problem is that Bassey has an error in him every single game. Look at his little cameo at Old Trafford- he cost us the game for getting beaten on that wing in the last minute. Cuenca much more dependable for me.
