On the day they announced football focus was coming to an end this pop up on my Facebook feed. This is absolute quality compared to the rubbish they turn out these days.

The problem with Football Focus in the modern era is that it was always on at the same time as the early kickoff on Sky, so realistically a large part of its audience is naturally diverted.

Shame it's going but honestly I never really watched it myself as there's things I'd rather do than watch telly on a Saturday morning, especially if the weather's nice. I do still watch MOTD in the evenings.

Doesn't hold a candle to "Big Meeks" Micah Richards duelling with Thierry Henry about who speaks better Italian

Want the truth that the BBC won't admit, Scott killed it off  after Walker left, nothing else, the obsession of pushing women into men's football and an unpopular one at that

Spot on. Go woke, go broke.

Rupert/Marcus, which one are you?
Personally think it's more to do with there being so much football on TV rather than the slightly sad notion that people wouldn't watch a football programme because a female was hosting the show.

Yeah exactly, just bitter sexism. If going "woke" meant going broke, then why has Kate Abdo's work on the UEFA Champions League not caused CBS's ratings to tank?

And for the record, Garth Crooks was a male pundit on Football Focus and a former player - he was awful, if you ever read any of his BBC columns or Teams of the Week then you'd agree he was completely deluded.

They also killed off A Question of Sport when they replaced the true professional that is Sue Barker with that Paddy McGuinness bloke.

Viewing figures were on the decline since 2018, then spiked upwards during COVID - then declined again...

It's football not men's or women's...it doesn't belong to anybody...

I won't really miss Football Focus - haven't watched it for about 30 years, but I feel sorry for the 500,000+ viewers that obviously enjoy it every week

Hey, don't drag me into this. I have no issue with equality. Misogyny has never been attractive to me.
Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do.
