Sunderland would go straight back down.
Finishing 7th and in Europe, terrific performance from a promoted side.

Sgt Fulham

We were a goal away from being in their place. How sickening.

Me, and the best bit is today they stopped Brentford &/or Chelsea qualifying for Europe.

Of course, more annoying is our nose dive in form since beating Spurs that cost us European football next season.

Literally all the results went our way over the last two games, except for the results we could directly impact (i.e. drawing with Wolves). It's hard to take.

Credit to Sunderland for staying up, although I think they will immediately be back in the relegation mix with Coventry/Ipswich/Hull/Spurs/Leeds.

We very well may be in that same relegation mix next season

Sickening is correct. It's inexcusable that we bottled it against Wolves.

BestOfBrede

We need to build NOT be in Europe -until ready!

Think they've done a bit more than just staying up.🤔

Absolutely - but a poisoned chalice?

Their performance this season shouldn't have come as a shock given the ability of the players they signed and what they spent

The promoted clubs are always the favourites for relegation. It'll be the same next season. Sunderland bucked the trend big time. Well done to them.

It wasn't for us... it's a cup run most people on here will remember until their dying day.

Are you owning up to it?
No way Hose.😁

Foolish, then, expecting anyone else to do so, is it not?.

I'm fine. It seems it's your cage that's been rattled - not mine.

It is not what others do, it is what we do.
We didn't do enough to qualify, it is as simple as that.
We were good enough to, but we underperformed as a team on occasions, and that for me is the most disappointing aspect.
