"What's being said is Nwaiwu changed agents mid way through negotiations & the new agent was making some wild demands. Couple that with the clubs wild demands Fulham stepped away.

There are other CBs being looked at."

Greedy agents striker again, would be livid if I was Nwaiwu who clearly wanted the move. On we move , unless they call us and cave I guess

This makes a ton of sense and i will attribute all of that to new agent positioning himself.
"Oh, your old agent only got you offered this much? That's laughable. Trust me, i can get you twice that and a better club, let's just hold on and give me time to find other suitors with more money available."

Sure
But we have signed JKA permanently for a good fee.
+ The deals I gather for Garcia and Palacios are signed and reports said they flew out yesterday from reputable source on the deal, so at this point we know those guys are basically in the door so what does adding another post painting it in the tone like nothings been done serve? Pretty disingenuous when all reports say we've signed a really exciting young striker from Real for 35m and another top Madrid graduate for 8m

Is it possible they both suddenly fall through? Sure, there's a very minimal chance, but my understanding is the deals themselves are done and it's all but publicly announced.

Given the kit announcement tomorrow I wouldn't be surprised it press followed on from there in the following day or so, and they likely join training Monday or Tuesday now the team are back from portugal. More positions to find of course but really seems pretty churlish to carry on like this when we all know there are 2 new lads all but announced formally.

I tend to agree with you on this. Although I'd be much more comfortable with an announcement, however, even then, and it is a very slim chance of happening again, but I always think Claudia Rayne when we announced him and then he joined Man City

He did yesterday.

As I alluded, I wasn't sure.  Good for him......
FYI, you could have found the answer yourself in less time than it took for you to write your original post.

Real Madrid duo undergoing medicals ahead of Fulham switch
Latest from Sky Sports News' James Cole:

Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios have been undergoing medicals with Fulham ahead of sealing permanent moves from Real Madrid.

The combined fee for both players is around £42.3m. Garcia, a 22-year-old striker who was top scorer at the Club World Cup last summer, is set to move for around £34m.

Meanwhile, Palacios, an 18-year-old midfielder who made his senior debut for Real Madrid in January, is costing Fulham around £8.5m.

New Fulham head coach Alvaro Arbeloa has been a driving force behind these two deals, as he is familiar with both players from his time at Real Madrid as first-team coach and working in the academy.

Looks like Trabzonspor might have to free up some salary
Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

Josh King said it'll be good to get the new boys in, in an interview on the official, before correcting himself to say the boys back (from world cup) in berge, bobb and castagne.. do you think he slipped by mistake or not?

They already made a really big sale by their standards for Christ Inau Oulai so probably are good in that regard

And regardless of the agent has been racking up the fees on the players side seems we're still a stalemate there anyway

I noticed that Nwaiwu seems to have removed his likes from Instagram on Fulham posts which in itself is telling of something

Volz

Nwaiwu is one that i would expect to not go anywhere before deadline day just so that his new agent gets all the time to prove his worth first, regardless of what we offer. Removing social media likes easily plays into that, "don't sell yourself short and make that an argument for your new club that you are seemingly very eager to go there." This one is no longer in our hands at all.

I think it's an unlimited # of non-domestic loans, but only 2 in any one window from domestic clubs

Just looked up his stats and form the last couple of seasons... played for leicester last season as they got relegated, and the season before when he played for Rennes he really didn't do well, they lost a lot of games he played regularly in..

Not sure he's our best option or one we should really be pursuing over players like Pitarch

Did you notice that he scored 11 goals and had 4 assists for Leicester last year as a central midfielder and won EFL young player of the season? Feel that's probably important context not to omit. Many Leicester fans saying he was the only good thing about the whole season (also for all they were dismal generally they also had a 6 point deduction which is what ultimately sent them down as without it they'd have just avoided it)

He was also 18-20 most of his time at Rennes TBF to him

Don't get me wrong id love pitarch ideally but watching a bit of jordan and checking reports on him he looks a proper box to box type who actually has goals in him so wouldn't be at all upset with him.

Also- depending who we sell I dunno how many more well bring in in the 6/8 positions

You'd hope Sky would know that Palacios is 21 years old, not 18

Feel the ceiling of getting through the academy and playing for relegated Leicester vs Real Madrid is quite a significant difference in quality and talent.

Whilst I'd love Pitarch, I'm slightly worried how significantly we're overdoing it on youth - I'd love to see us get in one younger player and then balance it with a more experienced player so they could work together and learn off one another.

Getting rid of Lukic for signing two young players for instance, doesn't seem sensible in and of itself. Reed is obviously great to support squad cohesion and leadership, and youth development but it should be a case of two mature and experienced CMs, max three if Reed or Cairney add that value to the squad, to balance out two younger CMs. Does King count as one? or is he an AM?

Sorry, but if he really wanted the move, which seemed likely under his previous agent, then why not tell his new agent that he insists on the move? Why even change agents midway through negotiations?
Icantbelieve any of this to be honest.

Icantbelieve any of this to be honest.

For any number of reasons.
He's a young guy a long way from home who's recently blown up and likely put himself on the map and radar of bigger agents seeing he's got interest from the prem

This was a big deal for him and, knowing agents, I can wholeheartedly see him getting poached by a bigger agent promising to get him a better deal on what is the biggest negotiation of his career so far.

Have seen such things happen with actors and sports agents poaching clients just as they are on the come up and often the individual can feel beholden to the advice of said agent with all their experience and put their trust in them. so doesn't seem far fetched to me at all and it's not like there aren't countless stories of dodgy and greedy football agents throughout recent history. If he's that good, there will be more bids for him before long next season and maybe even for more money.

We've heard first hand from TK comments in his recent interview with Jack about how some agents dealings are more honest than others so seems perfectly feasible imo. Added to the messing about by his club with the structure of the deal moving goalposts I can see why we'd say, fine take it or leave it and leaving the deal we agreed on the table

Perhaps he felt that his last agent didn't really negotiate that well on his behalf, and he felt it was now or never to make the switch before signing say a 5 year deal with a new club and not really have much of a say in it for the coming years?
Could be any number of reasons why he switched agent just now, but i don't find it that hard to believe to be honest.
He could have two thoughts going on in his head at the same time, "now would be a good time to leave" AND "I want the most out of my new contract."

Hear you, and of course if it's one or the other, Pitarch coming from Real Madrid feels the fancier exciting move, but will say I'm not sure I get the ongoing framing being about Leicester's relegation - they were poor as a team, but he's seemingly unanimously the last person Leicester fans would blame - and again - they wouldn't have been relegated if it weren't for a 6-point deduction so it feels a bit unfairly weighted to focus on that too much  when refering to James specifically as though it's the sum of his talents.

I think it's far fairer to focus on how he performed as a player specifically, which was brilliantly - so much so he was awarded the best young player in the league - even harder to do in an underperforming team so he's clearly got talent. Scored some absolutely cracking goals last year too. He's also Tenacious and alot more physical and capable of winning duels, which I do like in the middle, where Pitarch is much more slight, but more skillful on the ball.

As for selling too much experience, I do hear that. And inclined to agree that I like a balance too - but we still have plenty of older players in the squad even if we sold 2 more for younger players (Lukic and Castagne for example).

SCR is a real thing to consider here too when making room for new signings. Making a profit here on players turning 30 and replacing with youth with upside and lower wages does seem prudent. And even if we sold Lukic we'd still have 3 CM/DMs Over 28  (Berge, TC, Reed + Iwobi (30) ) so not like it'd be all kids in there.
