Been following since 1960, watched it in USA this afternoon, absolutely brilliant. They took Juventus apart!!!

Mr. Finn, you are right, bloody dogged determination. Great night though, wish I could have been there. The quality of the play, the quality of the goals. BZ gets 10 tonight and the rest all get a 9.

But not most important

Sorry Finn but have to disagree, tonight has set us up for a cup game next week that could see us playing at Wembley and anyway the question is not about the most important it is about the best game of football at Craven Cottage and tonight was.

finnster01

Mr Peabody,
If you read Ed's original message again he also calls it most important and that is just what my point is, because I still don't believe it was, even if we win the entire Europa League. Prem survival is more important, just for the finances alone.

I am just very jealous on you and the others that got to see it first hand.  :045:

Wow, what an amazing way to start my 2nd of 3 work nights!!  That was such an amazing comeback! So very glad that Gol tv had it on! :54:

This is without doubt the most significant result at the cottage in our history. 4-1 at home to Juve, realistically, it just doesn't get better than that.

I'm just so proud of the boys, and the job that Roy done at this club. 2 years ago, we could only dream of nights such as tonight.

I'm still pinching myself, we have just taken apart one of the premier teams in world football - amazing.

Shame is that we cannot enjoy the tv highlights.

One of the best, for me personally THE Best, Pompey away was not the proudest moment due to the poor season before, THE best atmosphere as well for me!

Chopper

I was definitely thinking that was the best game I've ever seen on the way out. Guess it needs a bit of time to add perspective but I think it's going to be hard to beat. Brilliant football, edge of the seat stuff, come back from an impossible defecit and a sublime match winning goal. Unbelievable really and what a cracking atmosphere.

I'm walking on air and smiling from ear to ear.

A truly amazing game and a privelege to be there. Please don't shower praise on us supporters that were lucky enough to be present. Many of you have a much longer legacy with this beautiful club and you deserve this moment also. It's yours too guys, enjoy it, embrace it and revel in it.

PTBF!

It was by far the best, most exciting, most nerve racking and ultimately satisfying match that I have every been to. This result will go down in history with far more potency than our result against pompey. People will remember this. We felled the giants.

LB - I was at the Newcastle game and as great as it was we did not win it.
Obviously I wasn't there tonight but this must go down as our greatest victory in the fifty-nine years I have been supporting Fulham.
With respect to our relegation defying wins against Man City and Pompey we had done that before - who was at Northampton for example?
But this was something special against one of Europe's top teams. It's not that we beat them but how we beat them.
I am elated for the players and envious of those who witnessed it. What a result.
Mr CorkedHat,
You forget it is a different game now. Relegation is a complete and utter financial disaster now and if you don't come straight back up, game is pretty much over... A Fantastic game and surely our best game and result at the Cottage ever.

However, had we not beat Pompey away we would not have played Juventus this year. It would have been impossible. And that is a fact.

So I will argue that Pompey away was still the most important game in Fulham history. Sorry for being a party pooper on this glorious day. Maybe I am grumpy and jealous because I wasn't there either...

Mr Finn – there have been many events that occurred during my lifetime that I wish I had been present to bear witness.
In earlier times there was an incident involving Marianne Faithfull and a Mars Bar – I would have liked to have stepped on the moon with Armstrong or held Edmund Hillary's woggle as he topped Everest. I would like to have been there when Lenny Henry told a joke that was remotely funny or Jo Stafford sang a song in tune. I would like to have stood naked next to John Holmes to compare notes.
I would have given anything to see Reg Stratton kick a ball for more than three yards, but alas I was not present at any of these.
And I did not see our glorious win last night but the mere fact that I was not there, cannot dissipate what is a remarkable achievement.
If my old mate Peabody says that it is the best match in which he has seen Fulham play, then I am almost certain it would have been the best match I have seen them play
It is a shame that you and I were not there, Mr Finn. After all the inglorious pap we have had to put up with over the years it is criminal that we should be denied this wonderful moment in our history.
Let us envy those who were present but let us vicariously enjoy the moment with them.

Amen to that Mr CorkedHat, couldn't agree more I am just a little overpissed I couldn't go and see it myself.

It angers me to no end. But at least I got it on the telly... And I used to think I wasn't a very jealous person... :010:

But not most important

I think overall you are correct, but when i got home last night i felt emotionally drained the atmosphere was the best i have every known, it may have not been the most important but it was certainly the greatest. :54:

I really don't have the words.

I've seen well over a thousand games at Craven Cottage but I don't recall an atmosphere or noise to compare.

We've won League and Cup games against better teams but this feels different. I think we raised the bar last night in terms of our status in World football.

But what a performance. To be 3 down and put on such a sustained performance of devastating attacking football. Not just the goals. We hit bar and post, created chance after chance and their keeper made some good stops. Juventus were literally destroyed.

And from a team managed by a cautious man with an allegedly rigid defensive mindset.

My fear is that whilst we've moved to another level opportunities might be opening up for Roy. I hope last night makes him want to stay and see how far he can take us.

Right, I have sort off, had a nights sleep now and I can, in the cold light of day, still say that last night was the greatest game I have ever seen. Unlike the Newcastle game we actually won this one and played some really good football. OK, they went down to ten men and I am not sure whether that decision was good or not but I think they lost the game game by scoring first, they thought it was job done. However, Fulham disagreed and well done to them for that. I am so privelleged to have seen  the two best ever games at Craven Cottage. One more thing, against Tottenham, next week, WE CAN DO IT.
