If Coventry win tonight and all the players are celebrating with their fans at the final whistle and their all on cloud 9,
I don't know how anyone can think that's a good thing,
I hope Spurs score 6

Still not a disaster, or anything close to one though. 👍

Never back Spurs no matter what

A draw would be far more appropriate

Quote from: Bocanegra on October 19, 2026, 10:51:16 AMIn what way is it nailed down that they will go down...

We just can't have a situation where a team cheats to the tune of a billion pounds and continues as is. No punishment, a deferred punishment or one that keeps them in the league (e.g. drops them 10 spots) is a total joke, and I don't think the clubs that stuck to the rules will go for it. I know there's an expectation that the PL are weak, and can't afford to lose City etc, but I think they have no option but to bite the bullet and go super hard.

The easiest thing is for them to go with a single massive points deduction and a transfer embargo and leave it there.

One argument I have seen is that they are deducted a set number of points for each of the say next 3 seasons - sufficient to ensure they do not qualify for Europe but not enough to relegate them, together with a massive fine and transfer embargo. The reasoning behind this is that it preserves the finances of the Premier League clubs in so much as City will still be able to settle their debts to say Forest for Anderson and Walham Green for Fernandez. Relegate them and you put a load of other clubs in financial peril - potentially

It could be years before city are punished

Quote from: St Eve on October 19, 2026, 02:04:18 PMI think we want a draw tonight. Coventry will always be in the mix whatever the result. A Spurs draw or even a defeat would send them into a panic, and likely looking for a new manager to fire in 6 months. They are away to Chelsea next week.

If Spurs lose de Zerbi is toast.

They could get Parker in. Ex Tottenham and all that.
I love this idea. Spuds to sack de Zerbi and get Parker in. Please ...

Strong Rumours tonight that the announcement of their points deduction and certain relegation is imminent.

Nothing is imminent. There are leaks of a probable punishment but it will be months before anything is officially decided.

If they are relegated, I assume their results this season will stand or are they expunged?  Tough on any team that manages to get points off them...

If it's just a massive points deduction leading to relegation then all the results would stand. If they get expelled then it can become a mess.

andyk

They should be kicked out today. All their games zeroed.  They can start next season in League 2, with a 50 point deduction.

Coventry on offer at a generous 5/1 tonight.

Coventry look rubbish every time I watch them, I have no doubt they'll be down.

They have more points than us so it won't put them below us.
