Fulham line up unsettled Benfica defender

Fulham are in the hunt for Benfica's Brazilian centre-half Jardel.

The 25-year-old, who has also been linked with Scottish giants Celtic, is sick of not being a first choice at the Portuguese club.

Benfica may listen to offers to take him in January either on loan or in a cut-price £4m permanent transfer.

He's unsettled at not being first choice at Benfica? So what lazy journalist thought he'd therefore like to be 5th choice behind Hangerland, Hughes, Senderos and Baird. Of all our positions, I think CB is the one we need least strengthening

Maybe Jol is contemplating bringing Aaron Hughes' stay as first choice CB to an end. Aaron turned 32 a month ago, so the idea isn't completely daft.
