Recently I started playing in a 8 aside league, and while I've been a football fan for years I haven't played more than a bit of kick around since I was about 10. Needless to say my 1st touch would make EJ blush at how poor it is and I am happy to place a pass within a 6 foot area of my target and I don't even want to think about how poor my attempt at a cross was. Knowing that we have a glut of footballing experience and talent on this board I was hoping for a bit of advice or pointers so I don't look like such a beginner out there.
Some people are literally too stupid to insult

kick a ball against a wall for about 30 min every day and learn to control it.

This may sound a bit simple and obvious, but point your foot in the direction of your team mate and imagine punching the ball with your fist, but instead do it with your foot, also make sure your body shape is at the right angle to make the pass easier

Forgot to say, if you're practicing on your own or just with a mate, start off using a smaller ball
