Afternoon fellow foot soldiers. If Berbatov is kept happy and really does the business what are the odds of a 'bigger' club coming in for he in January with a big bid and Mo saying take the money?

Edwatch_Winston_Malone

If it was just about the money then why get him in the first place, he can't be cheap but If we can get an equally good replacement for less money then yes.  But what are the chances of that?

Chesh

Bit hypothetical this surely?

If he leaves in January it would be for a too good to turn down offer, or due to an unhappy player being desperate to leave.

Both highly unlikely at this stage.

I really hope this is unlikely. But following us since 1954 it would not surprise me. He has to be one of the most naturally gited players ever to play for the club.

I think that might happened. I have also a "conspiracy theories" as of why?  086.gif
No animal is being hurt in the making of this posting.

ffcbulgaria

yea, he scores 20 goals till X-mas and we're in the top 6 with 30 or more pts while liverpool still flirting with the bottom 3 come in with a 20+ million offer and we're all happy ;) a bit too greedy am I, eh?

fulhaman

I said this to my mates on Saturday and my Liverpool mate said he could see this happening I came back with a why would he want to join a relegated club. Though I can see this happening If he does stay for the full two years it would be amazing. I think if he was here for more than 3 years he would overtake Clint and be our top scorer and maybe if he finishes here a statue. Though it would have to look pretty cool to go with him not like MJ haha

I hope I am way off but I fear once he has got used to playing every week, being the first name of the sheet and being praised as too good for Fulham by the press & media he may start thinking about wanting to be on the big stage again. If we are pressing for a place in Europe in January then we should be able to hold onto him, if not then his agent may go out to invite top clubs around Europe to make an offer we aren't able to refuse, especially if he starts getting frustrated at our up/down results. Fingers crossed we are no lower than 8th at start of January and the partnership with Ruiz is flourishing

I am not sure.

He really just wants to play and whilst he loved playing for Utd, he hated sitting on the bench.

As long as he is enjoying his football here, I really doubt he will be angling for a move.

Burt

Hello cap'n Bog sir,

I would hope that a guaranteed start in a half-decent premier league club will prove more of an attraction than warming a bench for a so called bigger club. He's been there before...

bog

Evening Staff Sergeant Burt. Did you hear Paul Ince on Football Focus say how he was dissapointed that Berbatov had not gone to a bigger club?!

Sorry to disagree Bog especially as I was only a mere Gunner but Ince actually said, "I am surprised" that a bigger club did not come in for him.

He turned down Juve and Spurs for us after leaving Manure. That, leaves Arsenal, Chelsea and Citeh - can't see them after him. Possibly Everton - nope, he's not rough enough. Liverpool - nope, theyll be languishing in the bottom 3.

So it's between us and the only other big club that I haven't mentioned, QPR!!

I've deliberately left Newcastle out as only their fans believe them to be massive.

Didn't he turn down 2 'Big' Italian clubs as wanted to keep his family in ol' Blighty? If correct, then it only leaves prem clubs as he wouldn't, I imagine, go downgrade. I think his relationship with Jol is an important factor and that rules out the lower prem clubs. The top prem clubs are not gonna loads for a player of his age and that leaves the middle few, which unless for better money are not better than us, IMO
