Anyone got any clues to this foreign midfielder we are signing?

FFC1987

Drenthe would be awesome but could be bad on the squad unity front.

jelmo

I also think it is probably Drenthe.

Cant seem to find anything on the internet about the press conference.

Jacob Murtaugh (sp?) is reporting via twitter.

It has to be a free transfer though so cant be Garcia.

do not want drenthe,

there is a reason why everton decided not to take him on fully. He was late to training a few times and has a attitude problem. Can already see him falling out with Jol.

is it just me or has our injury record gone through the floor in the last couple of seasons

I think because Jol has always said player fitness is down to the player and not for training... he has handled it that way at every club.. training is for football... other than some pre-season Swiss Alp mountainbiking
Just score 3+ goals a game and we will gain promotion...I promise

Can someone show me this quote?

This is rubbish - the fitness is handled as it always has been and last season we were fine and in fact got better and fitter as the season went on - several players commented on it.

This is just a rash of injuries, similar to one that all clubs get at one point or another.

I'd like to think the comment isn't blaming Jol but they do fitness seissons just not with Jol I believe. Seeing as we have staff at the club who specialise in it so the injury thing isn't down to Jol at all.

Jol is too honest. This is not SAF we are talking about. ;)

I wonder how many people have rushed to the "picking pool" to revise their prediction on the match.

Scored 5 against Norwich without Berb. or Demps.   NO WORRIES. I still think 2-2. :54:

I don't rate Rodallega as of yet. Yes, he scored a good goal last week but he also seemed to fall over at the slightest touch. It seems as the referees were wise to it, too. By falling to the ground and not staying on his feet, Rodallega missed to decent opportunities in the final third. It was very disappointing. His distribution was also very hit-and-miss. He messed up quite a few simple passes.

I'm very fond of Petric but he is of little use with the current state of our midfield. With better distribution and movement forward, he could be an enormous asset for the season. However, against West Ham he looked isolated and got very little service. Perhaps things might be better if he links up with Duff and Kaca?

Tomorrow could be quite a difficult day. I'm not sure where our goals are going to come from (or who they're going to be assisted by?) We just have so many injured players at the moment. I suppose this is the problem with having a thin, older squad.

Although we won last week, we missed some very good chances and truly rode our luck. They deserved a draw in all honesty and had better chances. Apologies for the doom and gloom but I'm not at all happy with the football we've played in our past two matches. Our distribution and movement through midfield is chronic. We've also stopped building play out from the back which was quite effective last season. Even though we're high up in the Premier League table, it's simply because we've played opposition who we'd 'expect' to win against in any other season (and we would have hoped for a point at Upton Park.) Hopefully I'll be able to eat my words.
