No striker either but it never looked as if we wanted to do anything but be safe and forget this season.

The players we signed seem fine. We still have weaknesses that were not addressed, principally a skillful central mid who can connect everyone else. Despite his limitations, that might have to be Ruiz. It's becoming more and more clear that Berba's better behind a striker for us and that he and Ruiz effectively need to play the same position, since Ruiz can't play out wide at all.

It appears our strategy can be summed up as "We reinforced well enough to feel good about staying up, and we face a massive summer of change where significant investment will be needed."

I'm hoping Frimpong/Enoh and Emanuelson will provide the energy that we need. Berbatov and Ruiz should be able to provide us with the creativity we need.

In regard to the money aspect, it is their by the looks of things, we're just very careful who we spend it on. By  what Dean Jones said on Cottage talk tonight, we did have a bid accepted for M'Vila but couldn't meet his wages. Huddlestone deal was also around but Spurs didn't get anyone in so they were unwilling to let him go and yeah we were prepared to bring Stekelenburg in too. Hopefully we will revisit the latter two in the summer because they're footballers of good quality.

We have many who can score. We struggled to get the service. WE signed mostly midfielders cause that's where we were worse and thinnest. JOb WELL DONE.

Rodallega , Berbatov , Petric & Ruiz have goals in them

Frimpong & Enoh will add strength to the midfield
Emanuelson is a really good signing

Yeah have seen Frimpong and Enoh play on quite a few occasions and both have good pedigree.  The only one I'm not too fussed over is Manolev, but surely he's only back up to Riether and playing at a club like PSV he can't be much worse than Kelly anyway.

manolev can play midfield as well.  And he has a nice vision.  He is just not very good in defending because he goes forward too much.  all 4 signings are really tough in the tackles and will add some strength in the midfield and protection for the defense.
